**ANY & ALL NEWBIES!! YOU ARE WELCOME TO SHARE!!
** This past week went well... No anxiety, I took a little break from some of my Fitness classes this past week, (participating in them and teaching them)...I kept up with water & sleep, BUT..... I got off a track a bit with my eating (I'll explain that later lol)....I did manage to get some type of workout in each day this week, just not my typical workouts.
** So, this past week I didn't really do anything for the 4th of July.... No celebrations or anything. We watched our neighbors set off fireworks right from our front porch, so we didn't even have to go out to see them! lol......But, my husband decided at the last minute that he wanted to eat something different for dinner that day..... So I did get off track with my eating that day. Its not that I didn't or couldn't plan, but, at the last minute my thoughts on it got the better of me, and I over-did it a little...... We also decided at the beginning of the week to make plans to finally get to the Beach!
... We're not that far from it, but its not just a "hop/skip/jump away either... So we had to plan, and I had to make plans for my dog as well to go to my moms... We had a great time, relaxed for a few days, and I really didn't want to leave. We got back this evening (which is why we are doing a LATE check-in today!)
** With the extra time I had away from my classes and such this week, I had planned to get so much done, (cleaning out closets and drawers, and working on NEW choreo for all of my classes.... and NONE of that happened!
..... Time just has a way of getting away from me at times. And that is something that I REALLY need to work on. (Better time management)
** Today is my usual "down-time" day, but we spent a large part of the early day driving back from the Beach, picking up my dog, and just getting settled back in. Tomorrow is a new day, and it will be time to get "back on track" with everything again and start focusing on July goals that I would like to accomplish.
I HOPE EVERYONE ELSE HAS ENJOYED THEIR WEEK~ ![]()
@PoliteOcean
Heya, Ocean! Glad the week went well, and shaking regular routines up can be good sometimes! And hey, a slip-up or two is manageable! :D what did you eat, out of curiosity? :p and what workouts did you do instead?
The food sounds like a good celebration for the 4th July hehe and yay, you made it to the beach trip! Woohoo! It sounds super chilled and amazing, and I hope you feel rejuvenated! If not... maybe that calls for another beach holiday next week? ;)
Haha time management can be such a struggle! Cant say Im the best at it either XD best of luck with working on some new strategies and implementing them into your routine!
It sounds like the holiday was planned at a really good time, and gives you time to still figure out what you want to achieve goals-wise. Best of luck with them all!
Have a great day! :D
@rebecca947
Hey there Rebecca!....
Yeah I guess nobody can be perfect in all their habits.... so my husband likes this local chicken place near us. So he wanted that. But its like a "meal-deal" that comes with Cole-slaw, and biscuits. I haven't had cole-slaw or a biscuit in a VERY Long time!.. So it sounded like a good idea (at first) lol... but then I was thinking later that I shouldn't have had them. But oh well~ I went for a walk after that dinner, and got back on track (until we got to the beach a day later!) lololol...... Then fell off the wagon again. But.... I don't regret that, because I was there to relax and enjoy. (At the beach we went to our favorite eatery) and they have this really good Brown rice that I love. I hardly ever eat actual rice. I usually eat "Cauliflower rice". But it was surely a really nice change to try something I haven't had in a long time. Oh and I had some chocolate too! lolol....But that was only my "treat". But either way, I'm glad we finally got the chance to do something and travel out this summer. It would've been great to stay longer though. But maybe next time.
But its already Sunday here so today is a whole new day, starting a whole new week.~
Not sure what plans I will implement to get better with my time management but I know I have GOT to start doing something~ and soon!
@PoliteOcean
Heya! Im doing well! I went on the trip with friends, and it was great fun and quite relaxed. We didnt do many activities, just a 3.5hr coastal walk and we chatted a lot. I guess we made our own fun for the rest of that trip.
I finally managed to do the required prerequisites to enrol into one of my units for next semester, so thats awesome. Then I created my ideal timetable and selected my preferences. Im really hoping I get what I want! I spent hours in total trying to figure out how to schedule my classes in without them being too hard for me to handle.
I need to catch up on exercise, as for the past few days, I havent done any. My eating is also pretty off track aha sleep is ok though thankfully, and I need to drink more water. Im constantly thirsty but also too lazy to get water XD I need my own jug in every room I inhabit! Or maybe just a water tap- that would be ideal :p
I havent done much bullet journaling recently, so I think I might dive back into it now and use it. Or I could just use my undated planner- either works, I guess. I just need to dump all the dates and things I need to do onto paper lol Im too scared Im forgetting something important because its all in my head.
As for July, I have quite a few things going on surprisingly! One group of my friends managed to schedule a group outing together for next week which is quite exciting! Weve been planning to go out together for months but none of us were ever free at the same times aha
I hope you have a great day! xx
@rebecca947
Hey Rebecca! So glad to hear that you did in fact enjoy your trip!..I know that you were a little concerned on whether you would or not. So its great of course that you did!
Thats great for you regarding getting all of your affairs in order for your schooling. I know that can be such a "head-ache" at times trying to get everything order. I do hope that you get what it is that you are wanting! And that the semester will in fact be a good one for you. Its important to keep that "balance" there between school and also being able to maintain that "down" time for yourself as well (mentally and emotionally).
Sorry to hear that you've gotten off track with exerise and eating too! lolol.....It can be a challenge sometimes, But its really great that you managed to get in some good sleep! We all know how important that can be for sure! So that is really great. Sounds like you must really need it?!!
Its good that you are thinking about diving back into your bullet journaling...... I swear I live by the app'ts that I set into my phone. Because there is NO WAY that that I could remember much of anything from day to day if I had to rely "solely" on the thoughts and memorization of my "head"! LOLOLOL.... That is just NOT going to happen for me! lol..... If you can do that, then you are really AWESOME!! ![]()
And oh wow! A group outing with Friends!....thats always something to look forward to!.... I hope that whatever you all have planned, that you enjoy it to the fullest! Let us know at next check in how that all goes for you and what you ended up doing!! Would love to hear about it!
Thank you so much for checking in this week and keeping us up-to-date on whats been going on with you! Always enjoy reading your posts each week!.... Hope you have an amazing week ahead. Take care!
Keeping up with exercise and healthy eating. July has started. I wish June was longer, time goes very quickly. Making the best of nice weather with plenty of fresh air and swimming more often as weather is better. This seems to be the best time of year to keep anxiety in check. Enjoy your week.
@sail46
So true Sail.. I completely agree! I wish June were much longer as well... This year (and summer) are flying by too fast for me. I wish it would slow down a bit..
I'm also like you that this is the perfect time of year for lower anixety levels and much better mood levels for myself.
Its great that you are getting your swim time in! I'm trying my best to do so as well.... Thanks so much for checking in this week and keeping us up-to-date on how things are going for you. ALways great to hear from you each week!
Hello lovelies!!!
I am happy to check in this week. It has been a fantastic past week, maybe two weeks and I havent been able to check in until now.
I would first want to say that I am back to dancing, yessss lovelies, I am taking Zumba classes again and loving it. I cannot be happier, I missed dancing so much.
I also have started taking Nootropics, Focused Energy. It helps me be alert and energetic without the jitter...OMG! I sound like a commercial, I am sorry if this is inappropriate. I just love it. I can take it and have the energy and definitely the motivation to move.
I also have tweeked my diet a little bit. I am doing a modified Keto diet. I cant do the actual Keto. Being asian, I love my rice. Anyways, my modification is, I still have my carbs, just minimized as well as minimizing my sugar intake but totally increased my protein intake. I also have continued to drink my water more and more.
With these changes, I feel like I have more energy and I am starting to truly, truly feel better. I just want to be a healthier and moving me.
I will stick to these healthy changes...
Hope everyone is doing well. Here's to a healthier US :D
@Keola
Keola!!!! So great to hear from you! You sound so happy!!... Sounds like things are going really great for you currently!
Soooo glad to hear that you have gotten back on track with things and that you are back to being a DANCING QUEEN!!! Yay for ZUMBA!!! Thats awesome for you!...
Also I have never hear of what you are taking, but it sounds like its working well for you and helping to support your healthier lifestyle?! As long as its meeting your needs, that is what matters. So thats great!
And awesome job at working on your Dietary needs and changes. Its great that you have found something that is meeting your needs and seems to be something that you are able to do and deal with. (I LOVE Rice too btw! lol)... So I can understand you surely not wanting to 'part' ways with it! lol....
I'm so glad that you are doing good and feeling better! PLEASE be sure to check back and let us know how all of these newly incorporated changes are working for you and how they are helping you in your continued Healthy Living journey. Best of luck to you. I knew that you would find your way again and make it back on track the way you wanted to!!... It just takes time sometimes.. and thats ok! You did it!! YAY "YOU"!!
Thank you so much for checking in this week to let us know how well everything has been going for you! Keep up the awesome work My Friend!! ![]()

intense heat is passed, finally back to normal weathers so we can be more active again.
and moving is over and im all installed.
so im feeling good.
@vivelespatates
That good that you are done moving patates!... Now things should be calming down for you more. Less stressful?! Its good that the heat has passed for you if you don't like the heat. Its easier for me to be hot than chilly since I can cool down much better than I can get warm.
Its great that you are feeling good this week. Thanks for checking in this week and letting us know how things are going for you!
I actually went out for July 4th. It has been years since I did. I went to see The Incredibles with my older son and his gf, then back to see the house he just moved into with his roommate. They moved from a rowhouse to a single family home in a nice neighborhood. It's a great house and I'm so happy for him! We had a nice dinner, and then made s'mores in the backyard (they have a yard!) and we could see some fireworks through the trees, from a nearby park.
I got one hike in this week, 3 miles, a new place I haven't been before. The small section of the trail I did ran through beautiful wetlands. I went early Saturday morning and saw no one until I was almost back to my car, so that was lovely. I saw ducks, geese, turtles instead of people!
I did get a lot accomplished over the last couple of days, with help. Two boys helped me weed my various garden plots and start laying landscape paper in the patch of blueberry bushes I planted last summer, which later got taken over by weeds. I finally put soaker hoses in my garden areas once they were weeded. I really want to garden, but when it gets right down to doing it, I don't really feel like it! With someone helping me, I can work for several hours. I guess I just don't like doing it alone. Today I cleaned up my bedroom some, including partly getting my walk-in closet organized. I also made some cheese yesterday, and have spent a lot of time watching the World Cup this week.
I still cannot lose any weight, despite eating ok and exercising moderately. I know I need to step up the exercise and rein in some of the treats and alcohol, but I can't seem to do it. I felt happy and productive this week though. No contact (and therefore no drama) with my new daugher-in-law, so no depression this week.
@SadMe70
Hey Sad!... Wow... what an awesome check in for you!... You sound SOOO much happier and very accomplished this week!.. (As it sounds like you have gotten TONS accomplished as well! lol)....
So glad to hear that you made it out for the 4th! Sounds like you had a really nice time with your son and gf. Also sounds like he is doing very well!. I think that can obviously have an affect on us as parents. When our children do well, we also feel accomplished too! Like we've done a good job in raising them, and helping them get to a place where they can be on their own, fend for themselves, and do well in their lives. No matter how big or small.... Sounds like he found a really nice place that you are happy with too and I know what a load off our minds that can be! Just know they are in a "good place".
Its great that you managed to get a Hike in this week for yourself.... Sounds like you really enjoyed it!
SOO glad to hear that you found you some help!! Yay for you!!!..... How lovely that the boys helped you to get done all the things that you've been wanting to tend to. I hope that some of the stressors for you have finally been put at ease and that you are starting to enjoy your summer more now that all the little things are coming together!!
And a "Walkin closet"? I can only dream! lol.... I've been wanting one of those for ages, and it seems like the various times I've moved over the years I've only ever had 'one' and that was years ago.... How I surely miss having it! I'm glad that you were able to get it all cleaned up and work on some other projects too (Like that awesome cheese!).... I swear I should change my 7cups name to "CheeseLover" lol.....
I'm sorry to hear that you aren't seeing the changes that you are wanting to see for yourself, but what I Do hear is that you are looking at the overall picture and realizing that there are other changes that you might be able to make in order to see the changes that you want to see. And that will come in time when you are ready to make those changes... so I hope you aren't too hard on yourself about it. YOU have to be ready to make those changes. And when you are, I have no doubts that you will succeed at what you set out to do! I'm so glad that you felt productive this week and that things have really seemed to go well for you!....
Continued best wishes for you My Friend that everything continues to go well for you this summer and that you continue to accomplish all your goals and plans! Thank you so much for checking in this week and letting us know how things have been going! And I'm also glad to hear that there has been 'No added drama from the Daughter in law this past week' and that your Depression symptoms have remained at bay!
.... Keep up the great work. ![]()
@PoliteOcean
I've been really bad about my health these days. I've suddenly increased my intake of soda ever since I started working at this new job since there's a soft drink mini fridge near the front desk that employees can use. D: I've also gained a few more pounds. I'm thinking it might be due to stress eating or something like that (too many yummy donuts), since I have been quite stressed this month and last month due to a personal issue. It's kind of weird....when I start to get really bad anxiety....I don't feel like eating. On the other hand, long term stress causes me to overeat.
@mimameid
Hey there Mima!.. So great to hear from you!...
Sorry to hear that you have gotten off track some with things. I understand that 'stressors' can play a huge factor in living healthier at times.... Drinking sugary drinks and donuts can surely have a negative effect on our bodies if its something thats continually done for sure!....And I can understand how having Anxiety causes you to "not" want to eat, but with long term stress its the opposite. I can relate to that.
But, what I love is that you checked in here today, and held yourself accountable. And that is a first step! Self awareness, in what's been going on around you. What things do you think you could implement at work to help keep you on track? Perhaps packing Lots of water and snacks like nuts, fruit, cheeses? Maybe some of these could keep you on track better and the fruits might help keep you from reaching for soda? (Since perhaps its the Sugar that you are craving!?)..... Sugar can be SOOOO Addictive and it doesn't take much of it in large quantities to increase the numbers on the scale or have our clothes feeling uncomfortable.
.... Perhaps even coming up with a plan (example: Journaling your thoughts whenever you feel the need to reach for the soda or donut)... OR... (chewing a piece of Sugar Free gum if you are too busy working to journal or eat a piece of fruit)?..... Just taking some small steps to prepare and plan can help you get back on track in no time!...
Maybe coming up with a plan, start small, one day at a time?... Maybe just getting through one day, or one week without a soda, or even just "Limiting" them to "One"? Just a thought? Im' here to support you any way that I can and are able to.
I'm just so glad to hear from you, and want to thank you for checking in and being honest with us about how things are going for you!.. We are all here to support you. Please continue to check back when you are able and let us know how things are going for you? Best of luck to you!
