Well... this week was a little better... Anxiety was not as challenging, although Depression kind of took over this week, but I pushed through...... Started off with the July 4th Holiday weekend, enjoying time with my husband who was off work for 5 days..... Set off Fireworks at my moms house!...... Finished all my Antibiotics that I started last week, so was glad for that. Attended all my scheduled appointments.

Was still off track a bit with my eating for the first few days, b/c well.... the Holiday and my husband being home got the better of me! wink So I indulged a little with him. But, got back on track with my workouts, walking and ZUMBA, walking the puppy, and eventually "mid-week" got back on plan with my eating as well!....(Still off track a bit again with my sleep and my water, so trying to work on both again).

Today they are having another POUND FITNESS class in my area, so I am contemplating going to that at Noon.... So still deciding If I want to spend the money to do that, OR.. just go to swimming (OR do both?!) lol....So will see~ Hope everyone else's week is going well! yes

I've been feeling like crap this past week. I've got a head cold so I'm congested, my eyes keep stinging and watering, my head keeps pounding. A piece of filling broke off the other day too, so I'll need to book an appointment for that. Ugh. I just hope I'm well enough to attend my weekly appointments by Monday.

The 4th was not a good day, lots of depression and social anxiety, and ended the day crying, but the rest of the week was ok. Not eating too badly, not drinking out of control, exercising most days. Still no weight lost. I was hoping to go kayaking this weekend but my son does not seem interested and I have no one else to go with. Mostly we only go once a year when we are on vacation (which is at the end of this month), but I got it into my head that I wanted to go.

@SadMe70

Sorry to hear that you had a tough "4TH" Sad.... Seems like alot of us have been "up and down" this past week. And thats ok... We just need to feel whatever its is that we feel and do our best to push through it. And sounds like you are doing just that!... I'm proud of you for continuing on and picking yourself up (with the exercises and what sounds like a little motivation!)... "Kayaking"?! Thats awesome!.. I've never been. I truly hope that you get to do it and go. Personally most of my close friends live further away from me or out of town, and its hard to get my 22 year old son to do adventurous things with me anymore, so I know how that feels. lol.... I'm glad to hear that you are doing better, and I pray for you to continue moving forward! Keep up the great work! yes

@PoliteOcean We used to kayak several times each summer when my boys were younger. We live near a river and a big creek. Now we vacation on a different river and that's the only time we do it. My older son is only there a couple of days but at least we get in a couple of little trips. There are a couple of places to put in upstream of our cabin and we paddle downstream and just get out when we get back to the cabin - no paddling upstream, which is my kind of kayaking! I can just float when my arms are tired!

@Mellietronx

Wow...sounds like a great check-in from "last week" Mellie! Its great to see that you got back on track! Sorry to hear that you are still feeling a bit tired. I do hope that situation starts to improve for you. I know that you have been feeling tired alot lately. Hopefully you can pin-point what it is that is causing you to feel that way so often and perhaps "tweek" a few things in your day or week to help you feel better and give you more energy. Keep up the great work! And thanks for checking in this week yes

Better than last week, still not back to normal (for me) levels of anxiety, oh well. I've tried to keep up self care routines. Haven't done much exercise. I saw my friend and that was good. Ehhh

Okay. So. I fell off a track for a day. Like, I really fell off track and ended up in a different state & city.

I decided to randomly hop on a bus that took me out to Chicago, which is four hours away from where I live. I ended up eating like 4,000+ calories because I really wanted to try the cinammon roasted mixed nuts & the fancy deep dish pizza. Most of the calories came from eating one pound of cinammon roasted mixed nuts; I only had one slice of pizza.

That day was fun. I learned a lot of cool facts about Chicago. Chicago had the first ferris wheel, which used train carts that held up to 60 people each. And each train cart had a bar. They'd advertise to people that they can get free whisky if they went on the ferris wheel. Also, they invented the first zipper. I don't know about you, but zippers play a big role in my life right now.

I spent like 10 hours wandering around the city, though. That was cool.

Other than that, I pretty much stuck to my health & fitness goals for the week. I spent the fourth of July running from zombies (I had zombie noises playing on my headphones as a motivator to run - I ran for an hour straight). I hit 12% body fat, which is the lowest I've ever been! It's crazy to think that I was closing in on 30% body fat two years ago. My goal, though, is to be below 10%. Slow and steady. I'm getting there. Though, my 4,000+ calories from Chicago probably didn't help. Welp, I'll pay that price in the morning.

In non-health related news, I watched Wonder Woman. Didn't really like it and ended up leaving twenty minutes before the movie ended (sorry Wonder Woman fans!). Oh! I started working on my next novel. I'm really loving it so far. I'd describe it, but the content of the novel will probably require almost every trigger warning that you can think of. I bought a journal to practice sketching in and to just write down any thoughts that cometo mind. It's not that high of a quality, but since I'm new to journaling I figured I'd start with it. I can always invest in a better journal later on once I get the hang of journaling. And that's about it.

I got back from Chicago like fifteen minutes ago and I'm exhausted. I'll be heading to bed now. Nito~

@JLantern Have you tried the zombies run game app?! I really like it and it uses your own music. And I've never had Chicago Pizza but it's on my list to try!

@DragonFaerie Yep! That's the app that I use! Though, instead of music, I play a podcast about murders. Murders + Zombies = Best Motivator To Run For Your Life.

@JLantern

Wow JL! Very cool check-in!...

Sounds like you had an awesome time in Chicago. Thats one place I have not had the chance to visit when I still lived up North. Maybe some day.....I can only imagine how awesome that slice of "real" Chicago pizza was!!??!................ I'm not into Wonder Woman so no offense taken here lol...

I think its also pretty cool that you decided to start journaling.... I used to journal so much in my teen years , and completely got away from it for 'ages'!... And now I do it "almost" daily for the past 2 years again. I'm glad that you are finding it pretty useful. And there are so many cool styles of journals out there so I'm sure once your done with this one, you can move on and find an even bigger and better one to start again...............

It also sounds like you are doing really great with your own personal "Health goals" and know what you want and how to get there. Sounds like you are "making it happen!" Keep up the great work, and thanks so much for checking in this week!yes

Hey there Alia... its good that you recognize the importance of getting back on track with eating healthier since it can affect various things. Especially our Gastro-health. (I have some minor gastro issues as well from time to time, and a better diet can definitely help with that).....

Keep up the great work! And thank you for checking in this week!

Well this week was good and bad. It was super hot here for like 3 days - as in 20+ hotter than normal and we don't have central a/c - just a 40 year old window unit. So.....

The Bad - 2 days where I literally did nothing - other than take care of our furbabies, and water everything, and organize my cross stitch thread. Totally bailed on my good eating and drinking lots of water. And I didn't start exercising like I had planned.

The Good - I landed some work! I'll be pet sitting for a friend who's going out of town for 3 weeks. And I'll be handling their air b and b with all the changeouts - which will amount to quite a bit of money by the time it's all said and done. That'll take a bit of financial stress off of me. I managed to get a bit more organized this week as well as starting to edit and plan out my current book. And I ventured out and met a good friend of mine for an afternoon of tea. It was so great to catch up in person. I also had quite a few days of good sleep and while there were a couple of days that I came close to anxiety attacks it wasn't as bad as normal.

@DragonFaerie

Sounds like your "bad day" of "nothing" actually was "something"... you took care of "fur-babies" that needed you as well as you watered things that needed watered and got some "organization" done! Don't sell yourself short on what you 'did" do!.... We all get behind some times on our eating habits and drinking the water that we need or even on exercising.... But at least you recognize it and know what needs to be done....

Its awesome that you mangaged to land some work.. sounds like a good deal for you to make some extra money. After all , who wouldn't love to make extra money if its doing something we like, or something that doesn't required a whole lot of work. Its also great that you managed to get out and meet with a friend, its good to get out. Its even better that you got some good sleep for yourself as well as pushed through your anixety. (Its always a good day for me when mine isn't as high lol).....

Keep up the great work! And thank you for checking in this week!yes
