**This past week went SUPER FAST!.... I can't even believe how fast this week went. I was looking at this day thinking how its already been a week since I went on my weekend get-away (Which felt like yesterday).... And it was also the very "First Check-in" for July..... and now, today even though its only the 2nd one, we're almost half way through the month already...... This kind of makes me Sad thinking how fast the Summer Months are going. I don't like that!.... I want it to SLOOOOWWWW Down some!

**After getting off track last weekend a bit for a few days with the July 4th holiday and the get-away weekend, I immediately got back on track at the beginning of the week and stayed there. I actually felt much more "Calm and Relaxed" this past week and really thing the little weekend get-away helped to refresh me some....So no real anxiety this past week over anything.....I Kept up with my water, eating, and workouts all week. I was sure to get Alot of water in this week and did really well with it. My sleep was up and down a bit. A few days I got up really early for "no reason" angry..., its like even though I laid down "late" my body just woke me up extra early. Not sure what to make of that~

**I had my Yearly Physical this week.... And I always look forward to getting the results of all my tests/bloodwork. It lets me know that all the work I do and put in isn't for 'nothing'!...... I come from a family who didn't really emphasize "eating well" or 'working out'.... Those were things I had to put into play on my own. Leading to poor body image, and being uncomfortable in my own skin for many years.....Which I still deal with at times.... My Grandparents both Maternal and Paternal had various ailments as they got older, as well my Father had a heart attack in his early 50's. EVEN though he worked-out and was FIT!... BUT... he did NOT eat well, and smoked and engaged in alcohol here and there. So... I know what I need to continue to do to stay on track. Thats all I can do is to continue my routine the best that I can.

**Today is my Down-time day... I'll be going to the Local Bi-Monthly POUND class to engage with others, have some fun, hear some great music and get my activity in for the day~..... And then, onto my usual Saturday errands with the hubby and a few things in moderation as well wink

**HOPE EVERYONE ELSE HAS ENJOYED THEIR WEEK yes

Hiya, Ocean! :D

Yeah, July has gone by super quickly! Sounds like the get-away trip has done wonders which is amazing! And well done on jumping back on track so quickly! Healthy living turns from habit to lifestyle so quickly it seems. Moulds into your daily life... yay! No anxiety, stayed hydrated, ate well and did your workouts! Thats so impressive! Now, tackling your sleep... :p I hope you slept after you woke up though?

Ooh, its not often I hear that people look forward to physical exams and results :p but its great that you do, and the reasons behind it- wow :o it really goes to show and emphasise that eating well is more important than exercising, and has a greater impact.

Wow, Im in awe that you managed to implement a healthy lifestyle for yourself, by yourself! Congratulations! That is one huge achievement in my opinion! :D

Yay, its good to hear that youre still as enthused about POUND as you were before! Out of curiosity, do you ever get bored of your workouts or teaching the same ones? :p

I hope you have an awesome week ahead! xx

Hey Rebecca! Thanks for your continued support!

To answer your question, no I have not been able to get back to sleep when that happens. 😭... thats the tough part. So gotta figure it out. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Also, I can honestly say I havent gotten bored in my workouts. I try to do different things daily, and I try to be sure to do it with a partner or in a group so that I can stay accountable.

I have gotten bored once with another Zumba instructor who used to do the same things in her class all the time. Same music, same songs...etc...And needed a change.

As an instructor myself, I try to keep things fresh, move songs around in my playlist and never do the exact same list each week, and try to add one new song a week. Thats how I try to stay fresh to keep from becoming bored. There can be burnout as an instructor where you just get plain tired (physically, mentally emotionally etc..) but when that happens, thats when its time for a break to regroup and refresh for yourself and your participants!.

hope that answers your questions!

Oh wow, thats great- I hope you never get bored! And its seems like its everything in moderation and knowing your limits. Thanks for answering! ❤️

I finally made it to the gym this week. It's been over a month as with being away, being sick, etc. I just felt like going was going to be too much for my body. The last few weeks of no gym were a little frustrating as I would feel better which would then be followed by days were I would feel pretty sick, so while I did get out walking and playing with my nephews I didn't feel like doing a full workout was the right thing.

I took it easy, could have defintely done way more than what I did in the moment, but since I know too much DOMS is a trigger (or at least what it's related to is) easing in is the best way to go. I have some sore spots for sure today, but mostly the little muscles that don't get attention from typical household activity. I've certainly had worse too. Hopefully it won't take too long to get back to where I was before this break.

@AffyAvo

Thats great that you were able to make it to the gym after being away for a good while. I know how even just a day here or there can get us off track, or feel like we've been away from exercise for a Year! .... It can be challenging physically for sure to get back to things. But with your situtation you surely know what to do for yourself and your body and your well-being. And thats more important than anything else! And, at least you were able to get some "Activity" time in with your nephews as well! That still counts!

Even when things go backwards for you, you always manage a way to get yourself back on track. Even if it takes longer than you want or would like. You have to continue to do what is best for your health.

I'm so glad to hear from you and glad to see you check in this week! Thanks for keeping us up to date on whats been going on with you.~

Hey! :)

Hmm, this week was a roller coaster of emotions (I feel like Ive said that before lol). Good and bad things happened, and bad habits came back to play... However, Ive learnt from the past what things I could do, and though the tasks didnt completely take the pain and habits away, they at least relieved some of it.

Good things that happened- Im an ATL now! :D it was a really quick process for me, so yay! I also caught up with some good friends today, and realised that I havent met them since November last year! So it was awesome to catch up, and I had an açai bowl for the first time today. It was delicious 😋 I love fruits so much, and the liquid component of the bowl also suited my tastebuds a lot hahaha

My goal for the coming week is definitely to go see my doctor and getting a referral again- my mental health has slipped a bit and I feel its a good time to go. Ive been putting it off for a month or so now, because I didnt feel like I needed it! Next week is also a busy week- I have a housewarming to go to, have to go to a hospital to finalise things for placement, and a two day training course! Its free for a limited number of uni students, and Im so thankful I managed to secure a spot! I might also need to call up my uni to finalise placement too... well see I guess haha

I also finally got my finalised timetable for next semester, and its not too bad! Though I dont like leaving late- I prefer waking up early. Its still 3 days though, so not too much to complain about I dont think! :p

Think thats all from me :) have a great week! xx

@rebecca947

Hey there Rebecca!

I'm so sorry to hear that you had a roller coaster of a week... That can be challenging for sure! Do you mind me asking what the bad habits were that came back into play? (Like did it have anything to do with eating, or personal life or something else?)

CONGRATS on becoming an ATL!! Yayy!.. How exciting for you! And how fun for you to catch up with old friends! Its always fun to catch up with good friends and have good times together when you havne't seen them in awhile. I'm sure you enjoyed yourself!

It sounds like you realy enjoyed your ACAI bowl! Sounds like it was really good! lol.. I've never had one. Maybe one day!

Its very good for you that you have realized you need to see and talk to someone again and recognizing your needs to speak with your doctor as well as get a referral! Not everyone can make that call for themselves or tend to put it off... So how awesome for you that you are taking the steps to do that. Thank you for being honest and sharing that with us. Taking care of our Mental health is so important!.

Certainly sounds like you will have a busy week ahead of you!!!... Wow!.. Thats quite alot. I do wish you the best in accomplishing everything that you need to do and take care of in the week ahead!

Thank you so much for finding the time to check in with us this week and let us know how things have been going for you! Hope you have a great week ahead of you! Take care!

Sorry, I meant bad coping mechanisms, not necessarily habits. Its become habitual, so I guess maybe thats why I worded it like that.

And yes, Id highly recommend açai bowls if you love fruits and all the healthy things mushed into one! :p wish I could have that for breakfast every day... that would definitely help me in my goal of eating healthily hahaha (but I feel like theyre so overpriced here... eugh though my friend who came back from Hong Kong said everything here is overpriced XD)

A mostly ok week for me. Some family drama, just enough to probably mess up any tiny progress made the week before, and I feel like the bad guy again. That made for one really bad day but the others were not so bad. I did make it through Friday the 13th with no problems!

I bought some new trail shoes for hiking. Trying to find something that handles the impact better because my various joint problems flare up from "long" hikes (long for me). I walked 45 minutes in them yesterday and they seem to fit pretty well. I have trouble finding any footwear because I have short, really wide feet, so my options are very limited. The fit seems pretty good so far. I will wear them on a few more local hikes before I go on vacation and do a longer hike. I am not sure yet if they will cushion me better, but fingers crossed!

I have been mostly eating pretty well, except for the drama day when I ate too much because I was upset. I have mostly not been drinking too much, and I exercised pretty well this week.

@SadMe70

Hey There Sad!

So sorry to hear that you had some more family drama this past week.... I was hoping that things were starting to look up for you a bit as far as that was concerned. I do hope that whatever it was, will find a way to work itself out again somehow. And that you can all start moving forward at some point. I know that its challenging, and that you don't want this to be something that continues on. Not sure if its the "Same" drama thats been happening, but I'm under the impression that it is. Please know that my "inbox" is always open for you if you'd like to reach out and vent!

New Shoes!... I don't know about you, but I always seem to find some kind of happiness and excitement in buying new shoes for myself lolo.... I'm bad though, I always buy the cheapest sneakers that I can find that will hopefully still give me the support that I need. I just can't fathom spending alot on "sneakers" even though I think I spend more time in workout clothes and shoes, than I do any other type these days. That could be why I am starting to feel aches and pains in my own knees as well though.... I'm glad to hear that they are working out for you so far and hope that they continue to as well. Find the right type of shoe and support is so important when you are doing things on a regular basis (walking, hiking, dancing etc...etc...)... It can make a world of difference. I had suffered from Planters F. in the past as well, so I understand the need in finding a great pair.

Its good to hear that for the most part that you have been able to manage to stay on track with eating and keeping up good habits for yourself... Or even if at the least "Better" ones!... Thats whats more important. NOT trying to be "perfect" with it, but just trying to make "Better" choices for yourself , even in the midst of challenging moments when you can. Every little bit helps.

Thank you so much for checking in this week and keeping us informed on how things have been going for you over the past week. Continue to keep up the good job that you are doing for yourself, and try not to let any of the other "family" drama stand in the way of "your" happiness and progress... It will eventually work itself out. It really will. Sometimes we just got to stand back, pray on it, and let things run the course and have the faith that they will get better. Take care of yourself!

Keeping up with exercise and healthy eating. Was a little stressed out this week, not sure why. Maybe summer goes too fast and I want to get as much done as I can. But staying on track with goals. Making the best of nice weather with plenty of fresh air and swimming more often as weather is great. Enjoy your week..

Sorry to hear that you had a stressful week Sail. I can relate to those feelings of summer moving way to swiftly and having goals and plans that you want to reach and take care of.....Was it anything in particular that stresses you out? Or was it just different things in general?

Its good that you are still keeping up with and maintaining your healthy habits and staying on track. Keep up the great work👍

Hopefully these last several weeks of summertime will continue to slow down for us summer-lovers!

Thanks for continuing to check in with us each week and letting us know how things are going with you! Take care and have a good week ahead

How have things been going for everyone over the past week?!We are practically HALF WAY through July already!

It's been going so much better! I quickly regained my confidence after having a recent manic episode and depression. And now, I'm happy to be back here!

How have you been doing with your July goals?!

Very good! I am fully weight restored from my eating disorder. And learning so many new things about Emergency Medical Services. I hope to have a carreer in that. I've also been active with my photography and music (piano and baritone uke).

What goals are you still trying to work? What things do you feel you can do to reach those goals? What would help?

Recently, my main goal has been to stay free from self harm. I've been succeeding in doing so! As in the addiction support community, I posted the ways I've coped with urges. I'm doing a whole lot better.

How many of you have any "superstitions" over FRIDAY the 13th?! What did you do different or avoid doing this past Friday?!

Karma...?

What have been your "highlights" over this past week?

I became a verifier on the verified listeners team!!! Then I earned my AL3 Badge. My AL4 had trouble going through... Argh... :( But still grateful for the good things!

What things would YOU like to talk about or share with us?! WE want YOU!!

Some people may not support your recovery or existence. But some people don't matter.

@PoliteOcean Im only 1 week old on 7C. I made some plans to start a clean way of eating this week to help my depression (which I know is being exacerbated by my terrible food choices that are causing inflamation in my body & brain). I have only had one successful day. Im hoping that joining this community will give me inspiration to move forward one day at a time with my goal of being more healthy.

Hello everyone!!

Just wanted to check-in. im on vacation this week, i'm not home in my familiar environment. However, I am still head strong about staying in my healthy ways. I am hiking everyday, wearing my FitBit and loving it whenever it buzzes telling me I have hit my targeted step goals for the day and it's only in the morning during hike. I need to up my steps to push myself more. After my hike, I loosen up my muscles in the sauna or hot tub. That starts off my day right. Now if only they have Zumba classes here, that would so make this vacation even more perfect.

Eatting is the hardest as I have to carefully choose what I eat and especially not over eating, but I have managed to stay on the good side. I try not omit any foods coz I know my body will crave it and when I give into my cravings, I will over indulge hahaha I know my body well.

Anyhoooo, I should go back to sleep (that's my draw back in sleeping in other beds not my own, i cant sleep well) ... I have another trail to try this morning.

I hope all is well :D Let stay focused everyone <3
