Well.... This week has been pretty good.... Anxiety has been a little lower, so thats always a plus for me~

Stayed on track with working out and eating right. I have goals that I would like to reach by the end of the month and I'm almost there. Then it will be time to set NEW goals for myself. Its been a year since I've been 'BACK" on this Journey. It isn't always easy to live a healthier lifestyle, but thats what it is, a "Lifestyle". And we can only do the best that we can do.

I Co-taught ZUMBA this week, Went to the Pool several days, Walked 10 miles several days, Took the Puppy for his walks down by the lake, Tried my FIRST "POUND-Class" last weekend and LOVED it!....(maybe enough to get licensed to teach that too!?!)...... But basically I kept "Busy" and tried to SWEAT as much as I could this week in this Hot weather we've be fortunate enough to get, Burning TONS of calories! Which also had me drinking LOTS of water this week, helping me to reach my goals on that as well. cool

Today is REST day and Weigh-in day... and Its been a Great one so far!.... Hope everyone else has been doing well this past week! yes

Sounds like you are making your way down the right path! You're right, the healthiest choice isn't always the easiest - we just have to do our best! :) You had an active week with lots of variety! I had to google POUND because I was unfamiliar, but that looks like a super fun addition!

Keep going and you'll reach all of your goals and even exceed them! :) Hugs!

I have a goal of showering twice a week, but I haven't been able to do it on the dedicated times. I've been pretty bummed and it makes me feel too guilty and ashamed to keep trying. I want to keep trying, but it's very difficult, emotionally.

@Zeraphim

That is a great goal to aim for!.... Please do not be too hard on yourself. I think its great that you plan goals for yourself that you aim to achieve, and its ok as well if we don't reach the goals that we have set. All we can do is to keep trying until we get there. The "positive" is that you "made" the goal. Now you just take the next steps to put those goals into action. You WILL do it! You CAN do it! I believe in you!

Thank you for checking in this week, and let us know how you've been doing!

It's been pretty low stress for the last few weeks. Warm weather and sunshine is a major reason I think. Just keep moving forward and stay upbeat and positive. Thanks 7 cups you have helped.smiley

Low stress is always a great thing Sail!... I'm glad to hear that its been going well for you.... And I completely agree, I "know" that is what has been helping me as well, just seeing the Sunshine and being able to get out in it.....It really puts me in a much better emotional state.

I'm glad that you are doing good. Thank you for checking in this week and Keep up the great work!

@PoliteOcean This week I tried some strength training. I have been crazy busy, so hopefully this coming week will be more chill.

Another bad week for me. I gained 4 pounds, after losing 2 pounds a couple of weeks ago. I just can't stop eating junk. I feel happiest when I'm cramming cake or candy into my mouth. Crying my way through Father's Day today. I don't know how to find the strength to stay on track.

@SadMe70

Sad.... I'm so sorry to hear that you are struggling today (as well as with the candy issue).

I know that Fathers Day will be difficult for you today, and those feelings will work themselves out in their own time. Perhaps just trying to remember the things about your Father that made you "Laugh" and feel good, calling up your mom and sister to also 'share' those memories or share in the laughter could help as well. Grief can take its toll on us for sure, but when you have others around you, or others to talk with about it and share in your feelings, it can help lessen the pain inside a bit...... I pray for you to get through today.

The candy,..... perhaps because you are still grieving do you think that it could be why you are still eating so much candy? When we go through grief, I'm sure you know that there will be so many ups/downs until we get to a place that it no longer hurts so much. I can remember mourning for so long when my grandfather passed (He was like my father)... I smoked and smoked and cried and cried for the longest time.........I tried to quit "for him", but then started again etc..etc... Perhaps the candy is your "Comfort"?

Maybe you could do something like sectioning off the candy? Bagging up so many pieces in little baggies and set them aside for each day? (Kind of like your own little food prep) but a 'Candy Prep"!?............. Put the others in a place that will be difficult to get to them. Like somewhere high, in the trunk of your car (unless its chocolate! don't want it to melt!)..... Or having someone else (your son?) hide it for you and go to him and ask him for it when your ready to eat it?...... Just some ideas that might work or help you along the way perhaps? Another thing, (this is what works for me...) NOT buying any, or bringing ANY into the house at all.... I keep out of my house what I "Know" I won't be able to control putting in my mouth. Saves money too! lol.....Or if you go some place that will have it, bring your own insead so that you won't over-do or feel tempted to eat it elsewhere when you don't want to.

You can only do the best that you can do.... and with so many things going on in your life right now, it can be difficult to stay on track. Its happened to many of of us. I know it all too well myself. You just need to find "YOUR" motivation. And you will!.....I got off track for a year and a half, and then its like one day I just got slapped upside the head! Like "Hey!... Come On girl, you worked too long and too hard to go backwards!"....So...Sometimes I have to be my "own" motivator and support. I really wish the best for you Sad!.. And I'm so glad that you have checked in this week with us regardless of whether it was a good check in or otherwise. I'm just glad to hear from you! You can do this... I have faith in you that you can.... and you WILL! All the best to you!

Hai! This is my first check in :o

My college's summer semester started this week. I finally used my university's fancy, olympic-sized pool instead of going to a community pool. Apparently, olympic-sized pools have etiquettes that I wasn't aware of, so I got scolded the first time by a member of staff. But, now I know. And swimming there is absolutely fantastic. I've never had an entire lane to myself before. But, the entire length of the swim is 50 m, as opposed to the 22 m in the community pool that I used to go to. This week I learned that it's very difficult to hold your breath for the entirety of the 50 m length without worrying the lifeguards.

Other than that, I've signed up with a personal trainer to help me with strength building since pretty much all I do is cardio (running & swimming). He's also helping me become a better runner as I never received any formal training in that.

I don't like maths assignments.

@JLantern

HEY JL!!! So glad to see you here in our Check-In Thread!!!

What an Awesome check in!.... Sounds like you are REALLY into swimming as much as I love my Zumba lol...... I LOVE to swim as well, I think its totally awesome that you had a Lane all to YOURSELF!! ....I'm sure you got alot of great work in by having all that room/space. Its defintely more challenging to do that in the Community Pools. Unless you just get lucky and it happens to be a day where not a lot of people show up! lol..... I've been lucky to have a few of those, but not many. I hope that you take Full advantage of that Huge pool! You are very blessed. :) I think its even more Awesome that you have been able to get a Personal Trainer!.. I'm still trying to figure out how to afford that one! lol.... I hope you check back with us and let us know how that is all working out for you!... I'd love to hear more! ....Adding strength has many great benefits! (I'm more of a cardio person as well with Zumba, swimming... etc..) so I know how that goes ;)

Thanks so much for checking in with us this week, Keep up the great work! yes ...Hope to hear more about how well you are doing for our check-in Next week!

PS..... "I never liked Math assignments either"... Shhhhh cheekywink

I haven't made it for a walk yet to my trainer's new place. I've been having more ups and downs lately, so my energy is going towards other things plus we've been getting lots of high speed winds which means I've been doing the bare minimum in my yard.

I did workout today. Was on the TRX, has been a while since I've been on it, unless you count the outdoor workout connected to the fence. Did some new exercise, found some new areas that are weak. Was a bit disappointed I had to go down in weight when the comment was made if it was too easy to go up - but I am where I am and it was something new. Energy level wise I was good today though. Somehow while the exercises were certainly challenging some muscles my overall stamina was better. At the end I felt like I could have kept going for a while longer in a safe way. Still needed a nap!

Despite a few things, I think it's awesome that you were able to try something new, workout today, and that your Stamina was up!.... All great things. And another great check-in for you. Can't wait to hear how the walk will be for you to your trainer's house. Keep us updated and informed! Been waiting to hear. ;)
