**ANY & ALL NEWBIES!! YOU ARE WELCOME TO SHARE!!
**This past week has gone well...Mothers Day went VERY well, got to see my son for a small bit before he went to work, so that was nice. He got me a lovely card and also a Gift Card to splurge on myself.... And I got to spend time with my Own mother.. Then I enjoyed a walk at the lake with my husband and Pup... It was soooo HOT that day here but it was gorgeous out!.... Kept up with Meals and Exercise. Got off track a "Tad" with my water and sleep, but not by too much. Last week I got at least 4 nights of decent sleep over 7hours..., this week was 3.... Will continue to work on that more. I've also started "Journaling" again a bit. To continue to keep my days as "Positive" as I am able.
**This past week I worked on some POUND Fitness choreo, and was able to introduce it in the Thursday Zumba class I went to. I only did a couple of songs at the end of the Zumba class just to give them a taste of what the class would be like. They seemed to really like it, so that is hopeful that these participants will be up to coming back and taking a full class of it! So I will continue to work on some more songs over the next week.
**Since Mothers Day the weather has gone "down" a bit with Clouds and Rain here and there... .But Still managed to get out and walk throughout the week and continue to get in those "STEPS" and activity.... Today is just going to be kind of a "Chill" day of relaxing... (AFTER the local POUND Class and running an errand or two)...
HOPE EVERYONE ENJOYED THEIR WEEK~ ![]()

@PoliteOcean
Hey Ocean! Sorry I havent been around a lot, but happy late Mothers Day to you! :D I hope you enjoyed the gift card you got from your son! Have you started splurging for yourself yet? ;) The day sounded really nice and relaxing, and the weather sounds amazing. So jealous now!
Nice work on the healthy lifestyle front! Water intake is hard sometimes :/ and good luck with the sleep! Journaling can be so therapeutic, and I hope it proves beneficial for you :)
Ooh, nice! You create the routine for your POUND Fitness classes?! How many routines do you have to do for a full class? And how long is each class?
Ahh, typical weather, constantly changing! Its nice that you got to get out occasionally though. Haha yay for chill days! Always a relief after a busy week :) I hope you have an enjoyable day! xx
@PoliteOcean
(before I start- I love the first quote you posted! Create healthy habits, not restrictions. So true- some habits can turn detrimental for our health and wellbeing. You have to be careful...)
hello! This past week has been OK, conflicting emotions were felt occasionally, but aside from that, its been OK!
I did a Mental Health First Aid Training course with an organisation that is my countrys crisis line (its called LifeLine) and it was really informative! Although the
information was pretty basic and not what I was expecting (I wanted more in-depth training...) it was still good because it taught us ways to start a conversation with a person in (or we suspect might be in) a crisis situation or developing a
mental illness (or worsening). It was an intensive 14 hours over 2 days, but worth it! Once I get the link to sit the exam, I hope to be accredited :) I also did two online courses, one on talking about suicide and the other about mental health as a whole, so that was great too!
In terms of healthy living, Ive been neglecting that for quite some time now! Havent had an actual workout in months- I dont know what Im waiting for anymore! Time is never going to slow down, so I guess I have to slot it in whenever I can. Food intake has been OK, not too bad. Today I ate a bunch of chocolate though- blame it on the menstrual cycle! I usually never have period pains but man today was bad... better now though, thankfully.
Water has been poor as well, but sleep has been great! I just need to keep it up now.
The highlight of the week was the MHFA course, and the highlight of the month might have to be uni mental health and wellbeing day last Tuesday! There was loud music, a station to make scented bags or bath bags, played cheer pong (beer pong without the beer! Had questions instead haha) and heaps of free food! And a massive set of Connect 4 and Jenga. But the best bit was pet therapy- the big brown Labrador was so cute!!!
Overall, May has been OK to me :p assessments and assignments here and there, but I cant change that unfortunately! :p trying to roll with them, and trying to mound my mental health around it too. Gotta say- hasnt been happening recently, but Ill figure it out soon enough.
I hope you all have an amazing day! :) xx
@rebecca947
Hi Rebecca! Its so nice to see you this week!!.... I'm glad to see that you liked the quote above!...
(First to answer a few of your questions above, I haven't splurged on myself just yet with the giftcard my son got me... Waiting for the right time lol...., Also, I have a few of the POUND routines memorized now, but not enough yet for a full playlist or full class just yet. I will have to memorize at least 12-13 songs for a full set!.. So its going to take a little bit longer for that lol...but each day I will try to work my way up with that, and hopefully sometime by beginning to mid-June perhaps I will be ready to go for a full class and the class itself is an Hour long)
So its great to have you back checking in again!.... I'm sorry to hear that you've been going through conflicting emotions. I hope that everything starts to come together for you soon!
The Mental Health Course that you took sounds really awesome! So after you are accredited, what types of things will you be able to do with that? Are you taking on a specific role or job with that training? Or is it something that you just wanted to do for yourself "personally" just to gain more knowledge?
I'm also sorry to hear that you've been off-track with the whole Healthy Living thing, however, as we all are quite aware of here, its NOT going to be a perfect thing ever!..lol... We will certainly have some roller-coaster moments with it thats for sure!....And I think a majority of us females can certainly understand that whole "craving" thing for the chocolate! I get what you are saying lol....
But, sounds like you say your sleep has been really great!!.. Thats awesome for you... I want to be able to say the same thing. I am just such a night-owl though! I really do want to go to bed earlier, it just never works out that way for me..By the time I'm ready to lay down, its a whole new day again! lol.... I will keep trying though. In the mean time, its great for you, and I hope you are reaping the benefits of good sleep!
And sounds like you had a really great time at your event!.... A massive Connect 4 game sounds really fun! My husband would have LOVED that.. HE LOVES that game! .... and I personally LOVE Jenga!!....lol..... and Pet Therapy sounds AMAZING!!!.... How awesome for you! Sounds like you had an amazing and awesome time!
Thank you so much for checking in this week! I've missed seeing you and hearing how things have been going for you...I do hope that things start to come together for you with the whole mental health thing. I totally understand!.... I get it. Its just something that we have to constantly continue to work at and work on "each and every" day. I hope you figure out what works for you!... Take care, and hope to see you back soon!
@PoliteOcean
Heya! :) Haha hopefully the right time comes around before the card expires! :p Ive done that a few times myself, and the card always seems to have expired the day before I wanted to use it... thats a lot of songs and dance routines to remember- sounds like you have an amazing memory to not get confused with each song and routine! Especially with the other classes you already teach...
Thats a really good question, to be honest! Im not sure what I can do with the accreditation- Ive never asked about it! I can become a crisis support worker with additional training, and maybe this course helps with that? Although I would like to be a crisis support worker, I think I need to focus on my studies for a bit first! But the plan is to become one, one day, at least for a few months. The course itself is what I wanted to do for myself, to expand my knowledge. Mental health is one of those topics Im really passionate in, and any opportunity I get to learn more about it, Ill try to attend. Fun fact about how I got into the course- I actually messaged the person who organised this course two hours before it started and asked if I could join! And thankfully they said yes haha
That is very true, and thanks for the reassurance! Small steps, I guess. I just went out with my sister walking our dog for 2.5hrs, soaking up the sun, watching a football game and playing frisbee together :) very nice time.
Haha, I understand being a night owl :p I feel like I am as well- it just feels so odd to sleep at 9pm! Even 10pm feels early to me haha but I do definitely feel fresher after having a solid 8hrs sleep.
I miss playing Connect 4! It really was a good day, and it brought up the topic of mental health, which is always good :)
Thank you for understanding :) I hope to be back around very soon! Have a great week ahead!❤️
I cant believe its almost end of May. When warm weather is here, time goes very quickly. I try to make the best of the wam months with plenty of fresh air. Wish I could bottle this good weather for winter. Everything is starting to bloom, and swimming is not to far off. Week has gone well. Trying to keep exercising and eating healthy to keep anxiety under control. Hope to get more organized so I dont get stressed out. Will enjoy the outdoors this weekend if weather is good. Enjoy your weekend.
@sail46
Hey Sail!.. Always great to hear from you each week!
I personally can't believe its almost the end of May either! Seems like it just got here and started?!!... Its like as soon as the warmer weather months get here, after Memorial Day time just flies... And then here in the South, the kids go back to school sooner too, so no sooner summer starts, when you see the kids starting back, its just a reminder of the fact that fall and winter are right around the corner ! Its like you barely had time to enjoy it. Because when school starts here, they also close the pools here during the weekdays and only keep them open on weekends. Its crazy!... So it only leaves about 8 weeks worth of swimming in the pool and then a few weekends leading up to Labor Day. I'm so like you and I wish I could bottle it all up too!...
Great job with continuing to exercise and keeping up with eating Healthy!... Thats great for you... I'm also like you, whatever it takes to keep anxiety under control. I just try to keep some type of schedule for myself so that I stay busy throughout the day and keep my mind in check while trying not to stress too much.
Enjoy your weekend as well, and thank you so much for checking in this week and letting us know how things are going with you!
@PoliteOcean
**How has everyone been doing this past week?! I have been doing okay. I was on vacation :)
**We are almost at the end of May already! How has May been treating you? What things have gone well for you so far? May has been okay so far. Trying to take care of myself better.
**What things do you feel you could be doing better with? What can you do to make that happen? I think I can be letting go of the past more. I can do this maybe by practicing mindfulness more
**What have been the biggest "highlights" for you over the past week? getting my lip pierced :)
@Mellietronx
Hey Mellie! So nice to hear from you! I was wondering where you were last week!... Where did you go on vacation!? I hope that you enjoyed!
Great job at working on yourself and trying to take better care of yourself! As well as trying to let go of the past and possibly practicing "Mindfulness"! Those are really awesome goals that you are setting for yourself! I am going to try to incorporate that more myself.
And getting your lip pierced! Thats really cool! I bet it looks great!... I have my tongue pierced.... I wouldn't mind getting my lip pierced as well... I always wanted a nose ring though, but my husband hates those, so it probably will never happen lol.....
Thanks so much for checking in this week, its great to see you back!
The highlight of my week was an annual big hike with my older son and his friend, that we did yesterday. We go to a particular mountain trail that is very challenging for me but very fun because of a rock scramble near the peak. We originally tried to go in March but had to cancel due to weather. This time around we almost cancelled for rain, and could not do the full hike because the rock scramble part was slippery and dangerous, so we hiked to the peak one way and then back down the same way. It's my longest hike ever (10.4 miles) and took 7 hours with many breaks. I prepared my knee as best I could with PT, ibuprofen, and ice afterwards, and it is not too bad today. I have sore feet and leg muscles, but I had a great time.
I have one more week of school, and then I hope to get my eating and exercise back under control and finally lose my Christmas weight! My younger son is spending part of each week here so his commute to his summer internship is easier, so I will see a lot of him this summer.
@SadMe70
Wow congrats Sad! Glad you finally got to take that Hike.. I do remember you having to put it off before. But its great that you made it! Sounds like you may have burned ALOT of calories and got in a great amount of exercise while also getting to spend some great quality time with your son! It good too that you prepared yourself with many breaks as well taking precautions with your knees too.
Its great that your other son will be staying with you and that you will get more opportunity to see him more! I would love to have that extra time with my kid as well.. He works so much I hardly get to see him that often.....
Its really great that you will soon be able to get back on track more once the school year ends. I remember how much I couldn't wait to be done so I could get on with Summer plans and progress. Won't be much longer for you now. I know How that whole Holiday weight thing goes... I'm still working on it too!... Just a few more pounds. Its too bad that we can't take it off as fast as we put it on! Its hard to believe the 3 months I got off track (from my birthday in Oct. Through Dec.) how much "damage" that time can do
But..... its surely a "lesson learned"~ I know for me, that I can't just have whatever I want at anytime without planning and tracking. Weight Watchers will have to be a lifelong thing for me.. But I know that we can BOTH get there!
Thanks so much for checking in this week! Always great to see you and know how things have been going for you!
I don't have much to say this week, sorry
Just Popping in to say Hi, :)
