**AND ANY & ALL NEWBIES!!
** This past week has went pretty well.... I was really anticipating the Thanksgiving Holiday with my family. Its not often we all get to spend "good quality" time together.
** My eating and workouts got off track this week, but only because I just felt like I needed a "Break" from everything...And just wanted to enjoy relaxing and "not" thinking too much about anything or trying to force myself into keeping up with a 'schedule' of workouts etc...~ I only taught one scheduled Zumba class this week, and spent the rest of the week getting things in order for Thanksgiving.... So I will have alot of "working out" to make up for in the coming week ahead. In the coming week, I will also be adding a new, additional Zumba class to my weekly schedule. I'm hoping that helps me to stay on track better as well.....I certainly am "lagging" physically though due to the extra amount of holiday food as well as no workouts. I have been very "sluggish". So I can surely see how staying on track helps me to feel better than this! lol...
**I kept up with my scheduled appointments this week, and got alot of Holiday shopping done this past week as well and I'm almost done! So that is nice to get a head start with that.... We had a nice Huge family dinner at my Mom's house on Thanksgiving Day which was really nice to celebrate together and see everyone together and I'm truly Thankful and Grateful for my family.
**Today is my usual "Rest Day" ,Although this has really been a "rest week"!..... So I will really have alot of getting back on track to do in the coming week ahead. Weight Watchers is changing their Points system again in the beginning of December, so, I am ready to see what that brings and how it will continue to help me to reach my future goals.
**I hope everyone else's week has gone well!

@PoliteOcean that sounds fabulous Ocean! You have accomplished quite a lot! Kinda cool to hear about the Thanksgiving dinner with family! :)
I am doing pretty good. Stuff that is going well would be I am eating more fruits and vegetables and I went for a walk after dinner. It wasn't the longest walk (20minutes) but it was a walk and more importantly it's is something I can envision myself doing after dinner most nights, which will go a long way to increasing my physical activity.
I celebrated Thanksgiving. I got through it with a lot of pre=planning. I ate a little more than I planned for but not an extreme amount and my overall daily intake was within reason so I feel like I did pretty good. More importantly, I recognized I over did it a bit with the food, and the next day I had no desire to do it again.
I've already started ple-planning for Christmas. They only challenge I have is if I am going to be cooking I need to find some way to not over stimulate my appetite while doing it. I am open to suggestion.
I am also new to this group. I am working on developing a healthy relationship with food and becoming healthier myself.
Hope everyone has a good week!
@orangeOwl1462
Wow what a great check-in!...You should really be proud of yourself that you were able to get a walk in. You planned it, and you did it. Whether it was 2hours or 20 minutes! The point is, is that you got it done! And that is reallly awesome. Its also great that you were able to recognized the fact that while you did "over-eat" a bit, but you knew and set your mind to the fact that you didnt want to do that again or allow yourself to feel that way again. And that is a pretty great accomplishment. (Especially considering we have "left-overs" which we can tend to let get the better of us).....So great job!
I think its really great that you are also "thinking ahead" and trying to plan ahead for the Christmas Holiday and not wanting to over-do it! I am with you on that one!...I know sometimes it can be easier said than done though. Some things that you might want to try are planning ahead by doing a small "meal-prep" for yourself. Perhaps "pre-making" some "Healthy" snacks for yourself (Like fruits, veggies, nuts, boiled eggs, string cheeses, etc..) things that you can "Grab n go" that if you find yourself getting hungry or find it hard to stay on track, then you can simply "grab" one of your healthy snacks and continue to "push" through any temptations or urges to over eat or overstimulate your appetite!....Also remember to keep plenty of water around so that you can sip on this and drink thoughout the day as you are preparing food and cooking. Sometimes you can become dehydrated being around hot ovens cooking and baking all day... You want to keep yourself hydrated which can also help with appetite control as well.
I also want to personally welcome you to this subcommunity!.. We are so glad to have you here and joining us!.... I'm Ocean Subcommunity Team leader along with one of my other co-leaders Vivelespatates... and we would be glad to help you in any way that we are able!.... Thank you so much for checking in this week and introducing yourself and letting us know how you've been doing! Continue to keep up the great work that you are doing for yourself! And best wishes on your goals!
@PoliteOcean
Thank you!
I'm feeling very sick. My goals have been to just get through. I did get to see my nephews today as I shouldn't be all that contagious. One of them cracked me up copying how I was coughing but hopefully he sees me as much more than his sick Auntie!
@AffyAvo
Aww....sorry to hear that Affy..... Hope that you get better soon. Its great that you got to see your little nephew though. I know how happy you are to see him and be around him, and how much he lifts your spirits!.... He sounds like a funny and cute little guy lol.... Feel better soon and thank you for finding the energy to check in with us and letting us know how you are doing.
I'm not feeling so great. Binge-ate for the 3rd day now but I'm hopeful that it'll end tomorrow. Tomorrow is a new day and a new week, and I'm thankful for that. My goals are pretty much to get my diet back on track and catch up on studying for school. I'm also thankful for sleep and have a goal to improve my sleep hygiene too
@Lexloveslife
Sorry to hear that Lex... I can certainly relate to that....
Its not a good feeling to eat more than we need to feed our bodies. You have a great mind-set though of knowing that tomorrow is a new day and another "fresh" start! And thats a great atttitude to have in moving forward with your goals that you have for yourself or want to set for youself!.....You are doing a great job. Keep up the great work that you are doing with the goals that youa re setting for yourself. We are here to support you. Thank you so much for checking in this week and letting us know how you are doing!
My week has had ups and downs. My stomach continues to bother me. I saw the doctor on Friday and am taking a prescription acid reducer and a non-fermenting fiber supplement for 1-2 weeks. If it doesn't resolve, I have to go see a gastroenterologist, something I have never had to do before. I can't do all my regular exercise because I don't want to jiggle my stomach around. I ate regular meals on Friday and Saturday, and my stomach felt hrrible all day. Today I hardly ate at all, and it feels better when I don't eat, but then I get a headache. The medicine has pretty nasty long-term side effects, so I hope to only be on it for 2 weeks.
On the good side, I had a wonderful Thanksgiving day with my husband and sons at our son's house. We had a nice meal (I ate everything I wanted) and played some board games. On Friday we went out to eat and then to a movie. On Saturday I took my son back to college and we visited a museum. Today I caught up on some things around the house.
@SadMe70
Hey there Sad~ I'm sorry to hear that you are still having the same stomach issues. I'd ask what medication you are on (as a Nurse, It makes me curious)... You are welcome to message me if you 'd like to chat a little bit about it at some point. I had past issues (and still do every now and then). I too visited a Gastroenterologist. I'm sure that they will be able to tell you a little more in depth and perhaps come up with a better plan of care. Please keep me informed on how that all goes for you and like I said if you just want to chat about it some I'm here to listen.
On a brighter note, I'm so glad to hear that you were able to enjoy your Thanksgiving holiday with your family! Thats the way it supposed to be. I'm glad that you were able to eat well and enjoy that time with all your favorite guys! And dinner, movies and a museum sound like an awesome date with them. I truly hope hope that you enjoyed it all to your fullest. Those times make for great and awesome memories.~
Hang in there with everything, and thank you so much for checking in this week and for letting us know how things have been moving along for you. Take care of yourself.
@SadMe70
It sounds like your Thanksgiving was great and that you have a suportive family.
People being around and keeping you busy should keep your mind off other stuff.
Things havee been going pretty well for me. I recently joined this website to get some unbiased support from people going through the same problems I am. I hope the interaction will help me grow as an individual.
My goal is to lose weight, which is hard over the holidays :). I have had a hard time dealing with my weight in the past years because I had undiagnosed with hypothyroidism, but I am no hoping to become healthier in the months to come.
@DolentDreamer

I think its great that you are taking strides to reach your goals... and its even better that you realize you want to make and succeed at those goals. Also I'm glad that you were able to get your Hypothyroidism diagnosed. I know about that from personal experience. If you ever like to chat about that, feel free to message me!
Thanks so much for checking in this week and for letting us know how you are doing and how things are going for you here. Also thank you for introducing yourself. Keep up the great work that you are doing for yourself and best wishes on your goals!
This has been probably the worst week I can ever remember. I was wallowing around in the pits of depression most of the week. Nothing or no one to formally blame. It is the kind that brings on tears and knowing life is hopeless and a nothingness for me. It is what brought me here. I started feeling slightly better last night thank God, but I cannot escape that empty feeling of dread. A feeling that something is about to really happen that I cannot talk about.
A friend out of the blue wanted to come over and visit on Friday. It helped. I let him know how much that meant.
I absolutely have to change some things this week. I like to skate, but even maybe walking might help. I need to get to the gym as I haven't gone in maybe a year. At least if I do cry during those activities I can be around people who don't care so I won't have to explain myself.
I should get a second job too. I could use the money and if I'm busy, I won't have time to let the devil into my thoughts.
@CantStepOut So sorry you've had such struggle lately. And i love your determination not to get defeated. Yes, starting walking it's a great first step... Keep us posted on your progress and how you feel.
How has everyone been doing over this past week?
I saw growth this past week. I am vibrating in a higher vibration because I am working consciously on being more positive.
What things have been going well for you?
I have communicated with a several people with whom the communication has been positive.
I also started taking vitamins, loved searching for them.
My supportive network has been strong!
How many of you Celebrated the THANKSGIVING HOLIDAY this week?!
Oh yeah!! I sang gratitude songs :) It was very good energy.
What things did you do to help you stay on track?
Focusing on gratitude has been going really well for me.
Also focusing on thinking calmly and sanely about some of my thoughts. For example, I can acknowledge the fact that even if I am sometimes a little nervous saying hello, thank you and goodbye to people, it probably doesn't matter on the big plan.
What new goals might you add over the next month to help get through the holidays?
One of the goals during the holidays would be to eat more mindfully.
Also, it is almost time to think about the Christmas presents. I could make some of them on my own :)
One thing - I could sing and dance more, I could also play my block flute.
What things were you MOST Thankful for this past week?
I am really grateful for my support network.
I am grateful for my friend who I met up with the past week.
I am grateful for my best friend who lives a little far from me, but she still cares and keeps in touch.
I am grateful for the framework of positive thinking.
GOOD WISHES TO EVERYONE :)
@kairemets You've got this great attitude! So inspiring! Thank you for sharing! :)
