**The past week has been yet again, fairly "busy" for me... Continuing with the same schedule of Keeping up with Morning walks with my mom, teaching morning Zumba classes on alternate days, & teaching my "one" Afternoon Pound class, also keeping on track with eating & water... My Sleep however needs a HUGE adjustment though~frown I really just need to "lay-down" earlier, but it just doesn't always work out that way, So I will continue to focus on that in the next week ahead and get back on track.

**I feel most accomplished this past week with having a pretty great attendance with ALL of my classes.. It can be "hit or miss" with my Zumba Gold class ladies... and then I just started this "New" Zumba class on Monday nights, (through October anyway) just trying it out for now... and will see how that continues to go~ I'm just not wanting to "Stress" myself out and cause any more anxiety that I need or can handle.. So I continue to pace myself with these classes and watch the numbers/attendance....

**The lady that manages the Dance Studio that I instruct at, I do like her and I know she is trying to make our Dance Studio remain successful for all of us (her as a business owner, as well as all of us that instruct there)... and its such a "quaint" place to work and teach at. But I'm starting to feel like she thinks I'm "SUPER WOMAN" or something b/c she's travels for business alot, and because I'm the most "seasoned" instructor there with the most Licenses, she seems to rely on me alot to "Sub" for her when she is out of town, ALONG with doing my "own" classes, and now bringing yet another Business venture to me..... I do have a mouth and know how to use it, but sometimes it can be challenging to tell people "NO". But I know that my "Mental Health" in all of this HAS to come FIRST~ Another instructor is out due to illness, and now she's asked me yet again, to take on "her" classes as well until she comes back??!!.. I kind of just "blew it off"~ I am not a "machine"~surprise.... And this old body is NOT getting younger.

**How do "YOU" tell someone "NO" when you feel challenged to do so? What are "Your thoughts about that"?

**Today is my FREE day... I always look SOOOO forward to those at the end of the week (Body, Mind & Spirit)!... The weather has turned considerably cooler this week, and I feel like I'm freezing already~ But its the "Bi-monthly" POUND class today at the warehouse, so my intentions are to go there, have a good time, Rock it out, get in some steps, then come home and cuddle up with my dog!.. My husband will be out of town for the weekend, and I'm in an "OCTOBER Scary Movie Night" kind of way!~ devil

ENJOY YOUR WEEKEND EVERYONE!~yes

@PoliteOcean Sorry to hear you are having to teach so many extra classes! I ended up dropping all my outside commitments a few years ago as my husband became unable to help me with my animals and other things around the house, and any extra time I have is now for me. Unfortunately that leaves the yard and house an embarrassing mess, and lots of stuff just never gets done, but I can't do everything. I know a lot of us here value the time you spend with our healthy living community, and especially your personal responses to the check-ins! It really means a lot to me!

It's been a good week overall.

This time of year I look forward to the cooler weather. I used to look forward to using the oven more (kitchen is not as hot in fall/winter). I may still enjoy some oven meals but I will have to find waysIt's to modify them. We've occasionally replaced pasta with spaghetti squash in the past so might can do some things with gourds, squashes, root vegetables, baked chicken and fish. I will need to watch sauces and breads and baked goods tho. Bread? I probably will not have very much as I'd rather get my carbs from other things. Also, I'm not supposed to have carbs in the evening. As for baked goods, I might bake cinnamon apples as treat from time to time. Still get the autumn feel of a sweet treat without as many unhealthy calories. I'm still learning the nutritional qualities of various foods. This morning I had half an apple with breakfast and was surprised to find out that it coupled with egg and vedge had more carbs than a slice of toast. But I don't think it should be only about the carb breakdown - its nutrional content overall. Plus, I needed some variety. The fitness site/app is coming in handy for tracking all my meals altho I am constantly having to check nutrition labels against the existing data on the site (because it's not always accurate) or work on my measurement conversions.

I may put batteries in my old scale and see if it still works. I was weighed at the bariatric clinic but have not weighed since then and I'm curious to know my progress. Also working on increasing my water intake. I've started putting the juice of one fresh lemon in a glass of iced water every morning. Another 7cupper told me that this helps aid in releasing toxins and moving things along, breaking down food. I may lose all the enamel on my teeth bc now i'm hooked on lemon water! ha

My weekend/next week's plans are to stay the course with meal plans and meds and to Continue increasing activity around the home through chores in preparation for when I begin walking.

I'm grateful the meds are still working to curb my appetite for the most part. I'm looking forward to progressing along this path of choosing a healthier lifestyle and seeing the changes and benefits to many areas of my life.

My highlight of the week was standing firm on a boundary I set quite awhile back with my spouse. Normally I either give ultimatums that I cannot keep or worry and pout. But I'm not letting anything come between myself and my weight loss! I cannot go back to the chaotic way things were before in my home. I'm trying to affirm myself that I did the right thing - that it's okay to set healthy boundaries. .. and he must have agreed somewhere within himself because he respected my boundary!

Hope everyone has a good weekend and productive week.

@themainjane

Hey there Main!.. So glad to hear from you again this week!... Seems like you are continuing to do an awesome job!...

Awesome job to you on replacing pastas with other more healthier versions (such as spaghetti squash) great choice by the way!.. Great job on planning ahead.. Watching out for "breads" etc.... (Which by the way can be challeging in itself.. I personally love my breads and pastas).. So when we can find better ways around that, I think we owe it to ourselves to be very proud in that accomplishment!

Baked cinnamon apples, are another great choice! Great fall time "sweet treat" and healthy too!.. Awesome job on continuing to learn nutritional values.. The more we learn the more we know!! And the better the chance of our success! And yes, keeping some "variety" will surely help from becoming "bored" with your food choices... (which can cause un-healthy choices or find yourself in a food-rut).. And great job on continuing to keep up with your Food App! Continuing to "Log/journal" your foods and your day, will continue to keep you on the right path and help you continue to be successful as well!

Also, about the lemon water, You are right!.. Lemon water helps to cleanse and detox... I have even seen it mentioned that it can help aid in weight loss as well among MANY other helpful things. So great choice!

As far as the "Scale", I think its great that you want start keeping an eye on your progress for yourself. Some people like a daily weigh-in while others like a Weekly weigh-in... (I'm sure some might do it another way as well)...... I personally do a "weekly" weigh-in so I dont become "Fixated" on the Number and all the 'Fluctuations'.... Since weight can fluxuate through out the day or from day to day.... You do whatever you feel is best for you.

Also, Awesome job on continuing to plan and prepare for increasing activity! Yay for you!.. I'm proud of you for 'staying the course'!yes

And also CONGRATS to you on being firm and setting Healthy Boundaries!!.. Its important to set boundaries with others... even when its difficult/hard/challenging to do. But you did it... and you did it because you know you want better things for yourself! The BIGGEST thing about getting healthy or living and committing to a healthy lifestyle is the 'MENTALITY' of it and behind it all. Having a healthy Mindset is going to continue to keep you on track in this journey. It will continue to move you closer and closer to the goals you are setting for yourself and wanting to achieve!... You are on the right path my friend!!! AMAZING JOB! You are being very productive in your journey, and you are going to go far in it!...

Thank you so much for checking in this week, and continuing to let us know how things are going and moving along for you!... Please continue to check back and keep us informed! You are doing Awesome!

Keeping up with exercise and healthy eating. Keeping weight in check, Have gotten much more consistent with my healthy eating. I am the same way never wanting to say I will not be able to do this. You feel guilty saying this, but over time I have learned to pace myself otherwise I get stressed out, which I try to avoid. Self care is just as important as helping others. I still using October as get organized month. Have made some good progress without to much stress on my part. Enjoy your weekend.

@sail46

Hey there Sail!...

Always great to hear from you each week!.. Awesome job as always on keeping up with your activity and eating plan, as well as keeping your weight in check.. None of those are easy, but its great that you continue to make it a priority for yourself.

Also thanks for understanding, as yes, I personally do tend to feel "guilty" if I have to tell somebody "No"... and you are absolutely right, we have to pace ourselves, because I know for myself I WILL get stressed out, and bring more anxiety upon myself than I need or want. And yes, you're on point about the "Self-Care".

Awesome job to you on continuing with your 'Getting Organized" project!.. Mine is slowly coming along too...lol... You motivated me last week when you said that you were doing it. I just need to continue working on getting alot of paperwork shredded. I want to be "wound-down" by time the holidays hit. And have all my ducks in a row.... will see how that goes lol... I'm glad to hear that you are making great progress with things. You are really doing a great job. And you continue to motivate me by staying on track each week. Looks like we are doing a great job and with much continued planning, won't fall into the same pattern that happened to us both at the end of last year. Keep going on keeping up the great work!! yes Thanks so much for continuing to check in each week and for continuing to "inspire"!

The past week has been a little stressful. Our chihuahua, Esther, put her back out. We had just enough for the vet and the pill cutter we'd need to break up her pills.

Fortunately, she is feeling better. Unfortunately, she has 7 more days of bedrest and she wants to play, jump, and stretch.

My biggest accomplishment this week was doing a vision board based around bravery and arranging to have my peer support over the phone since I needed to watch Esther.

My favorite part of fall is the turning of the leaves and the smell of a fresh rain. My least favorite part of fall is how the days get shorter.

My weekend plans are watching Esther and going out for lunch with my parents .

@istra

Hey there Istra!

Its nice to hear from you this week. Sorry to hear about your little dog. Its really great that she is starting to feel better. My dog is my little "baby". So I'm sure its been challenging to know that she wasn't feeling her best. But Its great that she wants to start doing all of her normal things again.

Awesome job to you on creating a "Vision Board" for yourself! That is a really great way to help you stay on track with things you want in life. Keep up the great work!

I love the turning of the leaves myself when it comes to Fall time... (I also love Halloween, and decorations etc...) I used to LOVE when the days got shorter, but now that I'm older, I'd rather the days remain longer myself.

I hope that you have fun with your weekend plans!.. Thank you for checking in this week and letting us know how things have been going for you! Continue to check back and let us know how you are doing and how your dog is doing too!

I missed last week but have had a good 2 weeks. I was away last weekend. We had a birthday lunch for my mom at a restaurant, and I saw both my boys and their girls briefly, and it was a really nice meal. They all went back to my aunt's for dessert but I had to head outto catch a ride with a friend and his wife to our 30th high school reunion. The reunion itself was great. A lot of my friends are on social media so I see things about them regularly. However, there were several people at the reunion who are not, it was so good to see them. One woman came up to me and I had to check her name tag, and discovered she was my best friend from first grade. I had not seen her since we were in college in the same city and ran into each other on a city bus. I spent the night with my mom. She had plans on Sunday to go with 2 of her friends and my sister to see a stage production of Mamma Mia. I've seen it, but I went with them anyway and that fun as well.

Yesterday I went with a couple that I know to the mountains about 3 hours away for a 4 mile hike in the mountains along a river. They invited 3 people that I do not know, which I did not like because I am not good with new people, but I actually managed to talk with them all and had a great time. I think the hike and the fact that I was able to feel comfortable with strangers was my big accomplishment of the month.

My meals, alcohol, and exercise have been not great and not bad. I had a bad day at work on Thursday, but we were off on Friday due to power outages etc. from a big storm. The weekend has helped me recharge, so I hope to have a better day tomorrow.

@SadMe70

Hey there Sad!..

So great to see you this week.. I was thinking of you last week when I didn't hear from you... Its great that things seem to be going well for you!.. Its really great that you were able to manage getting some time in with Family as well as friends. Its nice that you got to spend time with your boys. My son continues to work so much I hardly get that opportunity Like I hope for. I understand he's busy. I'd probably fall over if he made time with me for a "dinner or night out"! lol.... That is really great for you, because I know no matter how old they get or how far they move forward in their own lives, they will ALWAYS be our kids, our babies.

How awesome that you went to celebrate your reunion!.. I have Never been to one of mine. We had a 15 and a 20 year. I hear the 15yr one was a "flop".. but I heard the 20yr one we supposedly had, they "combined" like 4 years worth of classes to be sure enough would attend!...I wasn't "feeling" that or all those people. Or the fact that I barely knew the other grades outside of my own, so I didnt go to that one either.... I'm glad to hear that you enjoyed yours. Reunions are meant to be enjoyed and to have fun with old friends. That is so nice that you ran into a very old friend of yours and were able to "connect" again!

How nice that you were able to get away and go hiking.... I'm not an "out-dorsey" person but just the thought of the get-away itself sounds great!.... I understand how you feel about being around "new" people. That is something that makes me quite uncomfortable as well. Not knowing them, or what to say, and I'm not one for "small talk" either never knowing quite what to say. But its really good that you were able to overcome those things and connect with them and end up having a great time! So congrats to you on that! Because I know personally how that can end up being challenging.

Its ok that you aren't quite on track, however, it doesn't seem like you completely fell "off" of track either?! So sounds like a "win" to me! I kind of had a few moments of weakness today myself with a meal or two... Not feeling the best about that, but it happens. we just have to do better with the next meal, or the next day itself! ... Thank you so much for checking in this week and letting us know how you've been doing. Its always great to hear from you. I'm so glad to hear that you are doing so well. Take care!

@Lars12

Hey there Lars! You aren't Late!! You are welcome to post here in this thread ANY time!!! Multiple times if you'd like!.... Sorry to hear that you didn't meet the progress that you were hoping to in this past week, unfortunately the Healthy Living Journey isn't always a straight path. frown... BUT... What I do see that is quite positive is that you stayed on top of your water!!.. And that is awesome. Staying on top of your water will help keep you hydrated, help to cleanse Toxins from you system, and perhaps even flush out some of the sodium that you might have taken in with the "junk food" that you ate?! So... while everything might not have been perfect, continue to keep doing a great job with that, and everything else will too start to fall in place as well!

We are here to support you. Thank you so much for checking in this week and letting us know how things are going for you!

Hey there Witty.. So sorry to hear that you are dealing with a stressful time . It certainly seems that you have alot going on in your life right now. I do hope that you are able to find some time for "Self Care" and just taking care of "You". That is really important when we get stressed out.

On a positive note, its great that you are done completing your college applications! Great job!.....I'm sure that was pretty time consuming and created a stressor all its own. But now that is one thing that you have accomplished! Good luck on your future school endeavors. Continue to check back with us a let us know how things are going for you!

Thanks so much for checking in this week and letting us know how you've been doing. I hope things start to look up for you.
