**The past week has gone well... kind of flew by yet again....I kind-of fell of track on Sunday (Which is the start of my week after my "Free Day").... I got up early and walked with my mom as usual and got in a great walk.. but, by lunch time I "Caved"
.. I don't even know what happened. By lunch, I had already screwed-up. My plan was to eat light for a snack and dinner to salvage what happened, but then by dinner, my husband wanted to eat out and it wasn't pretty~
... So there you go. I still got a work-out in later that day, and managed to try to get in a few extra steps to help some.~ But just another reminder that nobody is perfect on this journey and I'll be the first to admit~
**The rest of the week, starting first thing Monday morning, I got right back on track with everything. All meals, activity and tracking.~ Kept up with all my workouts, and taught all my classes this week... The 'New' Zumba class I took on has been going really well. Now I'm kind of at a "Cross-Roads" on what to do with it. My idea was that I would just help out with it, but now its been going so well, I'm at a point asking myself if I want to keep it and continue on. So I have a lot of soul searching to do.
**I got alot of things done this past week that I've been putting off, due to taking on so much lately, but finally getting all those "little" things in order before the end of the year. I wanted it all done by my Birthday next weekend, and I think I'm doing pretty well so far! .... This coming week is going to be busy as I will have my "own" classes to teach, and then I will be "subbing" two other classes. But I could use the extra money, so I took them on ... that will be 6 classes to teach this week. I haven't done that many in one week in several years.
**Today is my FREE day again~ Love when that day comes around so I don't have to "think" so much about activity, tracking, etc.. and I can just give myself a 'mental' rest day as well~ My family and I are supposed to be going to a Luncheon together, and then afterwards, there is a local Fall festival that my husband and I want to check out.... And whereever else the day leads us.~
ENJOY YOUR WEEKEND EVERYONE~![]()
Keeping up with exercise and healthy eating. Was a little stressed out this week, not sure why. Had to cancel dental checkup, since dental visits always stress me out. Hope November will slow down some. Maybe too many projects at once. Making the best of nice weather with plenty of fresh air and walking and some last minute yard work, before leaves start falling off the trees. Keeping up with getting better organized around the house. Should have project complete by end of October. Spent half day just shredding old papers. Feels better to get organized, but just as exercise and healthy eating I have to stick with it. Eating out is always a challenge since the portions are large and the food tastes good. I usually try to makeup for the extra calories by being more careful what I eat at home. Not always easy as hoildays will be here soon. Enjoy your weekend.
@sail46
Hey there Sail! Always great to hear from you each week. .... Sorry to hear that you had some stressors over the past week. Seems like Dental visits tend to be a really stressful appointment for some. Working in the medical field, I tend to hear that alot over my career regarding Dental visits, than any other type of visit. Wonder what it is about that for some people?
I really agree with you that I hope November slows down as well!!..... I personally really need for it to! I also agree that it may be b/c of too many projects and things to do, get done, and still tackle lol... Its funny how when I read over your check-ins that we sound so much alike in some ways. I too have soooo many papers to shred, and that was one of the things I wanted to tackle this month as well that hasn't gone over too well yet. But low and behold, it is going to get done "THIS' month!
Yes eating out can be a challenge when there are so many options , especially depending on where you go, or if its "ALL"-you can eat
lol... I try to make up for it by getting in more steps/activity or simply getting on track "FIRST" thing the next day. But I'm like you as well knowing that the holidays will be here soon. Next weekend is the birthday, 4 weeks later Thanksgiving, 4 weeks after that Christmas.... We have to hang in there and stay on track NOW more than ever. lol... ![]()
Its great that you are still hanging in there and doing so well! Getting lots of things done, staying on track, staying active and healthy. No doubt that you will continue to push through the holidays as they fast approach and arrive! I totally believe that we BOTH "Got this" for this year! Continue to keep up the great work you are doing. You continue to motivate me as well to do the same!
Thanks for checking in this week and keeping us up to date on how things are going for you!
My week has been such a grazy one of many ups and downs. It actually started last Sunday when I had a huge mental breakdown. Uni was slowly killing me. I was struggling through a pre-master which had a workload that was way too heavy for me and thus was burying me with work. All I did was write essays and read articles and write some more essays and even when it was all I did in a week, I still wouldn't make some of the deadlines my teachers set up. Sunday was my breaking point. I fell and I fell hard and only after an hour of crying did I call my grandmother (God bless her soul) who was able to calm me down.
Now I learned something from that day and I made a big decision three days after. I quit uni. I went online, figured out another course I could take to eventually end up at my dream job, and decided that this might be the better course for me, even if it meant leaving university. Now that was a hard decision for me to make, but one that was necessary.
I struggle with the expectations my family have of me, namely to be the one to go to university and get this great job but... I don't want a good-paying job. I want to be a Remedial Teacher. I want to help kids who struggle in school and feel a way I've never felt: stupid or dumb. No one is dumb, everyone has their own talents and their own ways of learning. I want to show kids that. Personally, I blame my parents and the media, who constantly fed me content of strong people (often superheroes) who worked their asses off for the greater good. What was I supposed to be doing with those role models? Work for terrible, no-good, backstabbing, power hungry multinationals?
Anyway, I did what was best for me this week. I made a decision that was solely based on my own welfare and good and I don't regret that selfishness for a second. Because my future is my business and no one elses. And I feel so good about this self-empowerement. I'm proud of myself. And that's why I wanted to share this happening to me this week, because I really hope I'll be able to keep this attitude up, and be self-assured, and stand behind my own decisions. Because it feels absolutely great!
@JayTheBird14
Hey there Jay! Great to hear from you this week!
So sorry to hear that you had such a hard and challenging day mentally... Sounds like you had alot to deal with and take on?!.. Its really great that you have someone who is so close to you to give and offer you continued emotional support when you really need it the most! Sounds like you are really close with your grandmother? Its awesome that she is there for you.....
Sounds like you really had to do alot of soul-searching for yourself and figure out what your next move should be to keep your "Sanity" intact!... Its great that you were able to sort through and figure things out and make the choices that you needed to make for yourself. That can be very challenging, but sounds like you put everything into a "positive" perspective and pushed through the decisions!
It can be challenging when we feel like we need to "Live-up" to others "expecations"...... But its great that you realized that in the end you have to do what is "best" for "you'!.. and do what is going to make "You" happy! And sounds like you are coming along with that nicely! Its awesome that you have gained some direction, and were able to make the choices and decisions on what you want for yourself and your life and how you wish to "impact" others! I think what you want to do sounds really awesome! And you will be helping so many who need it!
Its so great for you that you were able to come to this point in your life over the past week, that you have to do what makes you happy! Because in the end it all goes together (Physical, Mental, and Emotional health). It ALL works together. And you have to have that 'balance'. If we are broken down in one area of our lives, then other parts can fall out of line as well. So we have to continue to work on Self care, Self revelation, etc... so that we can be the "best" that we are able to be!
Thank you so much for checking in this week and letting us know how things have been going for you!... Sounds like even though you started off with a challenging week, that in the end, things are looking up for you better than ever! Congrats! Please continue to keep us informed on how things are going for you!
Hi Everyone:
I'd just like to mention that I used to post here a while back and kind of went off track and stopped. Sorry for disappearing. I have been struggling a lot with being healthy. Anyway-
Past week has been ok and not ok. It wasn't a super stressful week but then I had my Dr/'s appt. My blood pressure is still running high, I have to come back to see her in 3 weeks plus also consult with a cardiologist.
I was proud of the fact that this week I was actually kind of calm.
I am grateful I have health insurance even if it has a high deductible.
My biggest accomplishment this past week has been not completely freaking out over health issues.
IDK what my highlights are I guess I had a productive week at work. I had no real plans for my weekend and I just ran some errands and relaxed. I go back to work tomorrow.
Only other thing I would like to mention is I wish I was in a better state of health than I currently find myself. I was struggling a lot with my anziety and my eating disorder and had to give up tracking and sticking to a healthy meal plan for a while. It was too much to focus on and I had to manage my binging and anxiety first.
Now things are starting to settle down but some damage has been done. I've gained more weight and as noted before my blood pressure is up. I know getting the excess weight off of me and eating better will go a long way to lower my blood pressure and increase my overall health. It's just a long road ahead and I've already been partway down it (losing weight in the past) and now I have to do it again.
Well that's about it. Hope everyone has a good week!
@orangeOwl1462
Hey there Owl!.. Well we are so glad to have you back here posting!.... Perhaps we will start to see you post more, and you can find support here. Some people feel that posting here weekly helps them to stay accountable as well! We hope that you might start to feel that way too!
So sorry to hear that you've been struggling...... this is certainly not a perfect journey by any means. Sorry that your blood pressure isn't where its supposed to be. I know it can be a challenge to work on getting those numbers down. But some "small and simple" changes can certainly help! "Staying calm" is a great way to start!.... So the fact that you felt calmer this past week could help with those numbers.
Also just concentrating on better food choices, (eliminating smoking, and alcohol), keeping calm/working on keeping stressors low, walking more (or choosing an activity) that you might want to do could ALL help with those numbers!
Yes its also absolutely awesome to have Health Insurance,... thats pretty important. So its great that you have it! Also its another stressor that you dont' have to worry about!... And having a productive week at work is always good!
I hope that you have found a way to manage your anxiety and the binge disorder. Those are also added stressors. I have suffered from anixety as well.. so I can totally relate to all the stress it can cause, and that it can also play a huge part in Blood Pressure numbers. I hope that you have found calming, healthy ways to learn to manage these things, to simply relax, and find things to do that you enjoy that can help you continue to stay in a healthy mental/emotional state.
Just know that you CAN do whatever it is that you set your mind to do!.... Just know that!.... We are here to support you in any way that we can and are able to!......There are lots of resources here , and otherwise. Please hang in there and know that while it can be a challenging journey, but its also a journey that has been Won before, and can be again!
Take care of "You"! Practice some self care, .... and keep going! Keep up the great work that you are starting to do for yourself!... And thank you so much for checking in this week and letting us know how you've been doing! Please continue to check back to let us know how things are going for you!

@Rebekahwriter13
Wow Rebekah.. sounds like you had quite the interesting week... Sorry to hear about the "guy".. Just know that you are worth more than "one random guy" when there are lots of others out there. Its just finding the right one for 'you'.
I hope that you are managing to feel better, and that your sleep issues are starting to get better and improve.
On a positive note, I see you stated that you had a "Happy Day" in there?!. So that is good! What did your Happy Day consist of? What made it a Happy day for you?
Sounds like you were also productive as well getting BOTH laundry and cleaning done!... That makes for a good week as well when we are able to tackle both and get them done, over with and out of the way!
Hope you are enjoying your weekend. Thanks so much for checking in this week and letting us know how things have been going for you!
@PoliteOcean I don't have many friends outside here, so I thought I was happy when a guy was into me. I get lonely easily.
My true happiness is in my writing. I could make a 7 course meal, clean the place top to bottom, and if I didn't write my day is not productive. I have 6 blogs. I write short stories and novels.
I'm trying to motivate myself to clean because our land lord want to do an inspection. I rather be on this site and write on my blogs.
I have been taking my supplements, and excercise almost bidaily and i eat a lot of fruits and veggies. I am a vegetarian
@altmancody
Hey there! Wow!... Sounds like you are really staying on a Healthy Track!! Way to go!...
Seems like you are really making alot of great choices for yourself and your health. Continue to keep up the great work that you are doing. And thank you so much for checking in this week and letting us know how things have been going for you!
I had an uneventful week, and skipped 3 more days of junk at school. On Friday I walked 4 miles on our local rail trail, on a segment I had not been on before. It was beautiful weather for a walk.
Today we went with my older son to a "hot pot" restaurant for his friend's birthday. It was a nice experience. Each person has their own heating spot built into the table, you get a pot of broth, and you pick various meats, fish, veggies, noodles, etc. to put into your pot. I ate a lot, but it was all low fat and fairly healthy - mostly veggies, tofu, and various fish.
Afterwards, we had cake from a local bakery which was a yummy treat. If I'm going to eat baked goods, I much prefer something freshly made to the grocery store junk they mostly have at school.
@SadMe70
Hey there Sad!...
Sounds like over-all you had a pretty good week?! Thats awesome that you were able to do well, make some great choices AND get in such great activity as well.
Its great that you are enjoying the weather and enjoying your walks. 4 miles is a great job all at once! My mom and I do about 4 in the mornings as well. But I'm not enjoying walking in this much cooler weather! lol.l.. .too chilly for me lol. (but I do Love the Fall). I just like to "sweat" when I workout and this cooler weather doesn't help that to happen.... Keep up the great work! I do hope that "you" are able to find that the weather brings you outdoors more striving for more activity.
Your outing with your son sounds really nice. Seems like you've been getting to spend some really good quality time with them lately?! I'm glad you enjoyed. Also the "hot pot" sounds really interesting!? so do you actually cook it? Or you just get to choose what you want and the pot does the cooking for you? My own son would have a "field day" at a place like that!..... Sounds like it might actually "push" you in a way to choose some really healthy choices?
So glad to hear from you this week, and know that you are doing well! Thank you so much for checking in this week and letting us know how things have been going. Always love to hear from you!
I was back in my usual exercise class this past week. I seemed to be fine that day but my energy levels have been super low since. I was hoping to do Zumba & weight training this week but I won't go to Zumba unless my energy picks up.
I really need to get outside into the garden, the beginning of this week is nice, we might have snow in a week though, so hopefully I'll feel up to doing that tomorrow.
The app tracking is going ok. It does email reminders which work surprisingly well for me, I wasn't sure if I would really notice them. There's some things I wish were different, I think I might try out a few more before deciding to stick with one. I'll share my thoughts after testing them out.
@AffyAvo
Awesome for you that you were able to make it back to your exercise class this week and that you were feeling up to going!... Its challenging when those energy levels "dip" .... (I know for you, that its different of course)... I can deal with it when I'm not really doing anything, but when it happens and I have to "teach" a class, that can be difficult..... Do you take anything or any supplements/vitamins that help? I try to do alot of 'herbal' vitamins or supplements that help with energy. I don't like taking meds, or random over the counter things....
Its great that your chosen app is working out for you thus far!.... I think I prefer email notifications reminders myself, since I always have my phone with me, those make it so much easier for me to get them, as well as remember.
Hopefully you will be able to get outside as you wish and enjoy like you want. Its turned rather chilly here, and Fall has definitely arrived here. How has the "snow" situation been going where you are?
Thanks for checking in this week and letting us know how things are continuing to go for you and how you've been feeling.... Sounds like "overall" it was a fairly decent week for you?! And thats great.
