**This past week went pretty fast... I was in a transition period of sorts. And decided to take the week off and have a "Stay-cation" at home with my hubby. I did Not stay on track, and put Most things aside for the week....and took a break from things. And not think too much.
**I did manage to teach Both of my Fitness classes (after giving up a 3rd last week). It felt good to have more time in my week & less stress of that particular class. Until I continue to figure things out. The weather has been REEAAALLLY Beautiful here. Still mild, and warm... and Sunny 🌞..... So we managed to get out and about with our Fur-baby and get plenty of Walks in. And I LOVE EVERYTHING ABOUT OCTOBER! Looking forwards to Everything Pumpkin, weather, My Birthday and Halloween 🎃👻~
**This past week (and beginning of this Fall season) has brought in MANY Fall Festivals to our area this week!.... I've attended 3 Fall festivals over this week. (One of them being a Fall Fitness Expo). While the others focused on Fall crafts, games and goodies. Its been really nice to not take things too serious over the week.
**I feel like I've done so much this past week in getting out and about doing different things, that there are no major plans for the weekend ahead. I do however have a Virtual Fitness Training in the morning from 10am-5pm. That will be an added extension training to my current Zumba Fitness License. So I will mostly be spending the Day doing that. And also (on a 2nd laptop) attending a Virtual Kick-Boxing session for an hour or so. Which should be interesting going back and forth. 😐 And to top it off, "dog-sitting" as well. lol...
ENJOY THE WEEKEND AHEAD~
@PoliteOcean wow!! You have been busy!! I’m glad you could get some time for yourself, hubby and furbaby 😍
Fall Fitness Festival sounds so much fun!! I wanted to be a Personal Trainer at least part time, but chronic illness kind of got on the way 😫 I do try to enjoy fitness regardless in any way I can! And love walks with my furbaby as well.
Happy October 👻🍂
@holdingtohope
Hey there Hope!... lol Yes I try to keep busy to a degree. Because I know how it can affect my mental health If I feel stuck in a rut. Or not staying active in "Some" kind of way!
I think that is so cool that you wanted to be a personal trainer as well!... Never say never, and never count yourself out! We are capable of SOO much and more than we might even know or be aware of!....I can understand feeling like you might not be able to dabble in that field with a chronic illness... However, just having the knowledge, and taking that step, you can possibly help so many others who are in fact dealing with Chronic illness as well but want to try to get healthier?!... You could always take on clients who suffer chronic illness or even seniors or those with disabilities that want to get healthier too! You would have so much to offer them and could relate to them on their level too! Just a thought! 😉
But I LOVE hearing that you too love to get out and enjoy fitness in some way! And that your furbaby keeps you active as well!... Some days that might be all the activity that i do is just allowing my furbaby to 'walk me"! hahah...😃 Keep up the great work! And thank you so much for stopping by! And for your very kind words. Happy October to you too! 🎃👻 🍂
@PoliteOcean thank you!! It feels like talking to a nice friend that I met at the gym or something lol 💗
I love that perspective about working with people with chronic illness and seniors. I’ll a teacher so I have this passion for caring and helping, and as someone who has my own fare share of struggles, I feel I could understand those people quite well. I will look into this possibility for sure!
Hope you’re having a great day 🍂🍁 I’ll get some hot cocoa and see what seasonal veggies are available to make a warm fall salad 🥙
@holdingtohope
Aww...thank you for the compliment! That is so sweet of you! I enjoy reading all the posts and love catching up on everyone's journey's and how you all are continuing to do in your goals!
That is so great that you will or at least might take a look and consider the possibility somewhere down the line. Remember, its never too late to do anything that your heart desires!... And I hope that you are having a great day as well (and enjoying that hot cocoa! And a yummy fall salad!...that sounds REAALLYY amazing)!!
I enjoyed reading your post below as well about your "Fall challenge" and have responded there to you too!!...Have an awesome day ahead! ❤️
@PoliteOcean My exams are going and I am stressed 😅 depression has been bad too, hope I don't lost my eating functions, cause some days ago I kinda lost the thought of eating. Hope you all are well ❤
@SoftFaith2004
Hey there Faith!... So sorry to hear that exams are stressing you out at this time along with depression. I do hope that you are finding ways to cope. And that you are hopefully finding some personal time to focus on yourself and your needs. And making some time for selfcare and things that you are able to enjoy a bit. Or that simply help take the focus off of the exams (and the depression symptoms) for a bit?! Just know that we are here for you! And we support you! And even if you feel that you cannot eat, perhaps just keeping some "small, light snacks on hand" can help with that! It doesn't have to be a big meal. Just be sure to keep yourself hydrated and nourished through small enjoyable healthy snacks. We want you to remain well! And we thank you so much for sharing with us this week and letting us know how you are doing.
@PoliteOcean Thank you very much for your support ❤
Ohhh, I love October!! Halloween is around the corner 🎃👻 and almond milk pumpkin spice lattes and Halloween cookies lol.
I just feel like I don’t know how I ended up here. The last year or even two have been so challenging that it feels like time flies but on the daily basis it has felt eternal somehow, if that makes sense.
I have started a 30-Day Morning Yoga Challenge and I LOVE it. Only 10 minutes of yoga in the morning that get my body moving, allow me to connect with my body, set an intention and soothe my mind and soul. Suitable for beginners so it allows me to feel accomplished.
My goal is to gain flexibility, re learn to eat healthy, sensible portions and heal from the inside.
I would love if we could share healthy recipes for inspiration!! Bonus for autumn recipes lol but any healthy recipe and healthy portion control ideas 💡 👻🥰🙏🏻
Oh, and I absolutely love the variety of colors of the autumn palette. Specially since I’m from the South Hemisphere, and after moving to the North I just fell in love with that deeper palette 😍
@holdingtohope
HEY THERE (Again) Hope! lol..
Ohh.. I love October too!.. Isn't it such a cool month!?!... Halloween is so close and all the pumpkin spice to enjoy as well! lol... I totally agree!
I 'm so sorry to hear that you seem to be feeling a little "lost or stuck"? Stuck in the middle of time somewhere... I totally understand how our emotions can have us feeling all sorts of ways. And not quite knowing where we are or what to do next? So it totally makes sense.
I think its totally awesome that you are taking time to focus on yourself, and that you have started your 30-day Morning Yoga Challenge! What an amazing idea! And i love even more that "YOU" are loving it!.. What a great way to start off your day, and being mindful! And putting your body, mind and spirit into a good place and connecting with yourself. I love that you have also focused on creating "goals" during your challenge. Such as gaining flexibility and learning to eat healthy for yourself. And.. more importantly "healing" from the inside! What awesome insights.
I do have various healthy recipes that I can share as well... Autumn ones are (indeed pretty yummy) lol...
How lovely that you are enjoying and experiencing the Northern colors of the Fall!.. I was actually born and raised in the North. And grew up with all of that for the first half of my life. I have since moved "South" and I truly do miss the North this time of year. Because theres nothing like it. And even though here in the South we have our variation of Fall and its colors, its still not quite the same. The colors in the North are just somehow so much more "vibrant" and "rich"! So its understandable, how you have now fallen in love with all of that too!..
Thank you so much for stopping by this week to share with us and check-in. And simply letting us know how things are going for you!... Please continue to let us know how things are going for you and how you are doing in your goals going forwards! We'd love to help you stay accountable in your journey, and simply root you on! ⭐️
Autumn is my favorite time of year and it's been helping me plan a healthier diet with autumn foods.
The thing is (this can get a bit scary)....I could really use some advice, if you don't mind. I have inflammatory PCOS, possibly Raynauds disease, and I have slightly high cholesterol. I also have a hard time building muscle bc I was neglected. I'm 25 now and by the time I graduated high school I had two strokes. I've been around a lot of stress and triggers lately so I'm really afraid of having my third stroke.
I just want to be healthy and I just know I can reverse most of this (raynauds is just managing it but it means being outside is really hard). Please help!
@novemberbirch9224
Hey there!...
Autumn is surely a great time of the year. Its understandable why its your favorite! And how amazing that its also helping you in planning healthier eating goals for yourself!
We're so sorry to hear that you have experienced and have been dealing with so much physically. Which I'm sure can also put stress on your mentally and emotionally. That does sound like a lot to deal with. And while we'd love to help you in your journey, we don't offer and aren't allowed to offer "advice" here at 7cups. HOWEVER... We can share and offer some suggestions.
I would have to ask you first, if you've spoken to your healthcare provider and come up with any type of plan to become or stay healthier with all of your health concerns? We have to ask this of course since it should come first hand from your Doctor in helping to provide you with the information that you would need in order to help manage your conditions. And of course, usually, they would also help aide in helping you to locate a Nutritionist who could also help set up a course of actions as far as dietary needs to help with your conditions as well.
Next, I would also share that we have to be our own advocates. And often do our "research" in helping to manage any personal conditions and symptoms. So I'm not really sure or aware of what knowledge you might already have in helping to manage those things?
Usually with PCOS, its about getting proper medication from your provider in being able to help alleviate the symptoms of what you are going through. As I know without that, that the condition can be a challenging one to manage. And I see that you are aware of that you Raynauds is also about managing....... Having elevated cholesterol can be about changing dietary factors in your life. And making some simple changes (Like adding fiber and whole grains to your diet, and fruits and veggies to your meals)..... and simply adding some exercising like "Walking". It doesn't have to be aggressive workouts. Simply adding 10 or 20 minutes of walking to your day and building on that can help! Working up to maybe 30 minutes a day 3-5days a week, Incorporating Fish or Omega-3 in your diet, decreasing any foods with saturated fats, Incorporating Extra virgin olive oils instead of butters etc..., And also decreasing "stressors" in your life!) And you can do those things by avoiding high stress situations, enjoying more things you like, adding hot relaxing baths, or relaxing walks in nature, listening to your favorite music, talking to friends or family who make you happy, watching a fun movie that makes you laugh etc....) These are certainly changes that you can add to help reduce cholesterol levels.
As far as building muscle, sometimes you can work on these things in a simple way by adding extra proteins to your meals, or Organic muscle building shakes, Opting to add some muscle building exercises to your day 2-3 times a week. You can start slow and low with your weight and increase the amount as things become easier. You can look on Youtube for simple muscle building exercises. Or even Pinterest. To help in getting you started!
I hope that some of these suggestions are helpful to you. And you can always reach out to us if you have any questions. And also continue to reach out to your health provider as well. So that they too can help aide you in building a healthy and sustainable plan for you going forwards!
We are totally here to help you and support you in any way that we can and are able! We are here for you! Thank you so much for reaching out, sharing, and taking steps to be here AND towards your health!... Please continue to check in with us weekly and let us know how your week has gone, what steps you have continued to take, and how you've been doing. And how we can continue to help you! And lastly, BEST OF LUCK TO YOU on your goals ahead!
@PoliteOcean Here's how the past week went. Monday I went grocery shopping and then a walk by the beach, then went to the chiropractor. Tuesday I had a therapy appointment and it went well. There's not a lot we can talk about in 30 minutes. She said she wanted me to look at my core beliefs. Wednesday Deysi had the day off, so no acupuncture for this week. Friday I had a physical therapy appointment but the office was closed. Maybe they tried calling me but I didn't get the message. I'm still cocooning for 2 hours in the morning and 90 minutes in the afternoon. My new roommate Alan is working out pretty good. I'm watching psychology videos on the internet about 2 hours per day. I'm struggling to get over bitterness. I'm bitter about not being able to overcome it. For this upcoming week I'm going grocery shopping and for a walk on Monday, but Deysi is taking the rest of the week off. That means I'll go two weeks without any acupuncture. I could fire Deysi but then I would be stuck without a caretaker. Even if I hire a new person before firing her, I don't think I'm going to find anyone better than Deysi. The pool of applicants I have to draw from is pretty low quality.
@Regmo
Hey there Regmo...Its great that you were able to get in your walk this week by the beach. I think that's amazing. And as we know, therapeutic as well. Thats good that you were able to get in and keep up with your appointments. I know 30 minutes surely can limit the amount of "talk time". And helping with getting things resolved like you desire. Thats great that you are continuing to "cocoon" and take the time that you need for yourself each day. I like to consider it to be "self-care" time. Which we all need and can use. Its good that you are able to get that in twice daily. Thats awesome for you that your new roommate situation is working out for you. Thats one less stressful thing that you have to be concerned with. I think its good that you are also continue to try and process things and your feelings by watching they Psych videos. I think its a good thing that you are continuing to try to analyze things and your situations. Sorry to hear that Deysi will be taking time off causing you to miss your acupuncture. I know and remember that you had such a hard time with your caregivers in the past. And based on all the things that you have shared about Deysi, (despite the time that she has been taking off and missing with you), I can surely say that she has seemed to be the best caretaker for you as well "so far". So I can understand your feelings about that and possibly not knowing what the best thing to do. Or at least maybe feeling stuck in those feelings. I know from working in healthcare for so long, that the caregivers can be the "luck of the draw" in the care that you receive. I do wish you the best of luck and with Deysi moving forwards. And hope that theres some type of overall improvement with her. Have you talked to her about your feelings at all? Or at the very least, someone should be able to help you with a "back-up" caregiver during the times that she isn't going to be there. Have you talked with your social worker about that? Maybe they could help you with that? Thank you for checking in and sharing your week with us. We wish you well with everything in this upcoming week ahead. We are here to listen & support you in any way that we can.
🎃How has the past week been for you?! Slow and a bit flustering. . . I have issues with banking and shopping and getting rides.
👻This is the 'FIRST' Check-in for the Month of OCTOBER!...What are you looking forwards to the MOST this month?!Colorful leaves, caramel apples, and Halloween.
🎃What Goals or Healthy Habits would you like to work on, Or create for yourself this month ahead?! I am working on trying organized myself.
👻FOR FUN: What's your Favorite part about October?! Autumn and Halloween
🎃What have been your Highlights or Challenges of the past week (At Home or at 7cups)? I've been having nightmares. I'm scared of my boyfriend's ex trying lure him back. I treated him better, but I'm still scared. I love the way I feel I am with him.
👻What would you like to talk about, add or share with us? We want to hear from you! I have to have a D& C. . . female procedure done and I am nervous. I have never been put under.
@Rebekahwriter13
Hey there Rebekah!.. Sorry to hear that your week has been a bit flustering for you. Hopefully those things mentioned managed to work out for you in the end?! I remember how challenging it can be getting rides when you need them if you don't have a vehicle or someone you can rely on to help.
Colorful leaves, caramel apples and Halloween are some of my Top "October Favorites" as well! Great choices there! What is your favorite fall leaf color?
I think its awesome that you are taking the time to try to work on yourself. Good for you! What things in particular are you wanting to work on? Keep up the great work!
Sorry to hear that you've been having issues with nightmares. I know how difficult that feels when you have them. They are not fun by any means. And sometimes feel so real. Hopefully things with your boyfriend continue on a good path for you both. The "ex" shouldn't even be a factor as long as he is being "firm" with her about the relationship that he has with "you"!
We wish you many positive thoughts and good vibes with your procedure. I know as a healthcare worker, that its a very common procedure. But, I know how nervous we can get as well when we think about having to be put under. That is not something that I like having done either. I had to be put under several months ago for an oral procedure....And I know for some of us, that can be the worst part about it over the actual procedure itself~ But we are here to support you. We hope that you continue to work on clearing your mind, and freeing yourself from the anxiety that surrounds you about the procedure. And try to think good thoughts. Remind yourself that many women have gone through that, and have had it done. And that you will be ok!
Thank you so much for sharing with us this week, keeping us up to date on how you are doing, and letting us know how things are going. We are here for you!

Fall leaves, colors and the air are definitely some of my Fall favorites as well!.. What is your favorite fall leaf color?!

Yes I am really looking forward to seeing my friends! It has been a while since I've hung out with them in person!
Thank you :) I'm glad I saw this reply because I had forgotten that I was trying to write in my journal more -- this was a good reminder! Thank you!
Fall is just beautiful, isn't it?! Ooh I think my favorite fall leaf color is orange. But really I like the ombre ones that have multiple colors that fade into each other :D

🎃What have been your Highlights or Challenges of the past week (At Home or at 7cups)?
I don't know why but I'm having trouble connecting with a peer listener. They answer so slowly it makes me feel like I'm talking to myself.
