**This past week has "flown" by yet once again.. I CANNOT believe its September already!??!.. Like Summer was "Blink and you missed it"!.... . I started off the week on my Anniversary Get-Away... a wonderful time was had in the few days that we were gone... got back home on Monday morning. I did my best to stay on track as much as I was able, but honestly (as my previous post stated last week) I really just wanted to enjoy without thinking too much about "tracking" things....(Food, water Or sleep)....Which by the way, you'd think that my sleep would have been great while away on vacation, but I found my body still waking up earlier than I wanted, therefore I took advantage of getting in some "light" workouts before the day would begin just trying to get in some steps. Trying to "counter-act" being off track of course lol...
** Right away the day after coming home, I got back on track with my mom and our morning 5-Mile walks that we've been taking....Forcing me to get up earlier than I'd like yet again because she is an "Early Bird"!.., but I knew I had to get back on track right away, I don't want this time of year to start off like last years went (Downward spiral of hardly any tracking for the last FOUR months of the year)... I simply cannot do that this year..
** POUND and Zumba classes (which I came back to right away as well, were down in attendance this past week)... Lower than my usual... So that kind of was a "buzz-kill". I know as an instructor that yes, it happens, and there will be "dips" and "ups/downs"... But it really hits hard when its your "Own" class... It makes you doubt your abilities as an instructor at times.. (Asking yourself if you are doing the right things, the right music, the right playlists, being motivating and inspiring enough) etc..etc.....But,.. its what I took on, so Que Sera/Sera~
**This will be a Long Holiday weekend for us here, and I for one, thoroughly intend to enjoy it, by NOT doing much of anything Lolol...
I have a few small errands to take care of today, but then I plan to relax in the evening and through Monday... NO classes, and I intend to start "Studying" for my Group Fitness Instructor Certification testing.... And hopefully some quiet family time and also some last bit of "POOL Time" for the summer hopefully on Sunday~
HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND EVERYONE~ ![]()
I cant believe it is already September. I was not looking at the calendar in August hoping it would slow down reaching September. At least the weather will be warm over the next week to keep swimming on track. Overall it was a good summer with plenty of outdoor activities and healthy eating. Fall is around the corner and will have to adjust to cooler days, but will switch to walking up and down hills same as spring which worked well. Plenty of yard work this weekend getting ready for the change of season. Enjoy your weekend.
@sail46
Hey there Sail.. Yep looks like Summer is starting to come to its "close" and Fall will soon be upon us... I live in the Southern U.S... so I can at least get a few more months of nice and mild weather from now to very early November......but swimming will be gone~ So I "too" will continue to adjust with walking the hills in our neighborhood. Its great that you have hills where you are. I honestly get the "most" burn of calories out of walking hills than any other form of exercise!
Its great that you had a good summer and managed to stay on track. I'm grateful for that as well. Sounds like you are doing a great job at staying on track and have a good plan for yourself through the Fall months ahead!... Here's to us continuing to make it through the Fall and Holidays!!
Thanks so much for checking in this week and keeping us up to date on your contiuing progress and journey!
**How have things been going for you this past week? my energy levels have been fighting me every job I've needed to do. . . My anemia is high this week. Im on iron, but this month to month is driving me crazy. I hope to get some real answers from the doctors in the middle of this month.
**This is our "FIRST" Check-in for the Month of "SEPTEMBER"~ In what ways are you ready to "take on" the new Month ahead?! I'm not sure if I'm ready, but I will give it all I have.
**What are some "positive" things you are looking forward to this month? I'm looking forward to the fall.
What might be some challenges? How can you defeat those challenges? My energy, but hopefully coffee will help.
**How many of you will be celebrating the Long "LABOR DAY" holiday weekend ahead? What are your plans?! I'm just making hot dogs
**What have been your "highlights" over this past week? I did my mom's chores and my own. I fit in all my errands in one day.
**What things would YOU like to talk about or share with us?! WE want to hear from YOU!!
my hormones have my emotions all over the board, I am sad, scared, upset, mad, paranoid , but there are no reasons why. Anyone else feel like this? Can I stop these empty feelings.
@Rebekahwriter13
Hey Rebekah! Its so great to hear from you again this week!.. You are really doing a great job at checking in and letting us know how things have been going for you.
Sorry to hear that your energy levels have not been where you want them to be. I can understand how that can feel sometimes or some days... Today was one of those days for me as well....I know having Anemia can also be an added stress as well. Hopefully they can help you to get it all figured out soon!
You sound really positive in wanting to make September a great month ahead for yourself! Thats a really good attitude! I wish you the best this month ahead in making that happen!
I hope that you enjoyed your Labor Day weekend... Hot dogs sound REALLY great!... I enjoy one myself occasionally on my "Treat" days. I had one on Saturday which is my treat day... It was really worth the wait! I love them with some really good "Baked Beans"! What do you eat yours with?!
Its really awesome that you were able to accomplish all of your chores (as well as your moms)! Look at you go!! What an accomplishment!...I know how tedious and exhausting "Chores" can be.... so way to go at being able to get them done.
Also as far as feeling a bunch of emotions that have you "all over the place".. I'm sure many of us here can relate to those feelings..... I know that I can for one. Some days can be like that depending on what you might be going through in your personal life. Some days you may not feel like talking about it.. .but then some days you might.. And when you do, and are able to get the feelings out, sometimes it helps and can make you feel better about whatever is causing you to be stressed out.
I do hope that whatever it is, passes for you , and that you are able to find some moments of "peace" for yourself!....
Please continue to check in and keep us updated on how things are going for you! Thank you so much for checking in again this week.
@PoliteOcean
I appreciate your long response. It's only the 5th day this month and I'm breaking down. Sigh. I am stressed no because of the crammed live in situation my family is in and I have no local friends to simply just get out with. . .
My brother comes home from a friends house, and I just break down and freak out . . . Im lonely, depression, my hormones are all over the board and yet none of my doctors want to do anything about it. My last therapist pushes my problems on my doctors and doctors either say weight issues or I need therapy.
I had baked beans with our hot dogs. I love cooking, but I have a very picky uncle and he hates most of what I make. But he'll eat all of my chips and cookies I have saved for special times. It just makes times impossible for cooking.
@Rebekahwriter13
Hey Rebekah..
Sorry to hear that you are still stressed by the living situation that you are in.... It would be a great idea for you to be able to just "get out" and have some peace and enjoyment... Are there any activities where you live? I used to feel like I wish I had others to do things with at times (when nobodys around)...Sometimes we can also have a great time in relishing in the moments when we are by "ourselves" too! Take in a move, going for a walk, doing a little shopping, grabbing some icecream and just enjoying it in the park, taking a drive to one of your favorite nearby places... or simply something like going to the lake, or people watching while enjoying the breeze or fresh air.... I used to think all of those things were boring alone, but now I take my Ipod/Music and my dog, and we just hit the road some days... I hope that you can find some moments like that for yourself.
I'm sorry to hear that you feel that everyone keeps pushing your issues and concerns back and forth, and that nobody seems to be helping you in the way that you desire. I too have had that happen in the past, and it can be a very challenging and lonely feeling when all you want is someone to help you and they don't know how (even the professionals)......
Have you ever reached out to a therapist or counselor at all to talk to? Sometimes even though they can't take the problem away itself, (or perhaps sometimes they can when they help you with coping skills and managing things in your life)... Sometimes its just really great to just let out all of the anger and frustrations to someone who is in the "business" to really "Listen" to your problems.
Sometimes they can "guide" you towards better solutions or the right solutions as well.....
Although I know that therapy isn't for everyone. I totally get that. And I do know not everyone can afford it either.. But there are also some places that offer "Free to low-cost" based on your income that can help as well....Or even free "Support Groups" based on whatever it is that your going through (Anxiety, guilt, depression, Grief) etc..etc..... It alway comes down to finding the "Right" one that you can connect with though. Thats the big thing. But sometimes they can guide you towards "other care" or "care providers" that you might not have known or didn't think about!... So thats great to have that information as well....
Sorry to hear about your "picky" Uncle... My Step-dad is the same way.... He's VERY picky about the stuff he eats and that others make.. I never met anyone like him. lol... But yet, you can surely see him munching away on all the junk-food of chips, sodas, and other snacks. Go figure?!....I'm just glad I never have to cook for him. But I surely understand your issue there.
@PoliteOcean
Now that my mom got her samples out (go from hernia surgery almost 3 weeks ago.) I plan to get my health issues in order, my female and hormonal issues, sleep apnea, and then my blood issues. (I dont get enough iron or b12)
Once on yet more energy I hope get to a part job if my energy and hormonal swings: mood swings can handle it. I dont make enough progesterone so they have me on birth control, but I can go from sweetheart, to cry baby to witch to cry baby over nothing. It's driving me crazy. Then add my anxiety, panic attacks, depression and ptsd . . . I'm all over the board and I tried therapy and drugs and I felt like a robotic zombie.
I only have to cook for my uncle twice a week, he gets fed at his job. I'm grateful for that. My writing and my cook sometimes help my moods.
I appreciate you listening. . . Thank you. I am very grateful. I dont drive and find have any local friends and i kind if live in the middle of nowhere.
I babysitted my nephews this past week as my 'workout' and now I'm back to feeling really crappy/on verge of having an attack. The air quality yesterday was said on the news to be causing problems for people as well, despite reported decent numbers, I only found that out after being outside. It was only a little bit, but probably enough to be a factor considering how sensitive I am to the smoke.
I want to get back into things, but here I am, mid afternoon and I haven't left the bedroom today.
I keep forgetting it's a long weekend, hubby isn't here right now, so it's nice we get that extra day when he will be home. Maybe we can get out together, I really want to get a a new cellphone, mine isn't operating great and there's back to school specials even if not a student so we can shop for that. Hopefully that will be a good level of activity for me by Monday.
@AffyAvo
Hey Affy!....Great to see you this week... Just catching up on everyone's check-ins after the long holiday weekend....
lol... I like how you "counted" time with your nephews as your "Workout"! lol... Kids can have that effect most certainly! The way you talk about him, he sounds like an amazing ball of energy! lol....
Sorry to hear that the smoke is still causing you some issues and concern... I do hope for you that it will start to clear out a bit to where it won't affect you so much, and then eventually disappear all together!
How have things gone for you over the long weekend? Were you able to get out and about , shop? Get yourself a new phone?! When do the kids start back to school up there where you are?.. Ours started like a month ago already! lol... Anyway, I do hope you were able to get out and enjoy yourself and time with your hubby for a little while?!
Thanks so much for continuing to check in and keep us up to date and informed on how you are doing... Always good to hear from you!
@PoliteOcean The smoke is gone I hope now. It's been pretty cool some days.
Seeing my nephews really was a workout after how little I could do! And lifting them is always a workout now.
I got my new phone, not really enjoying it but that's me and new stuff like that, so not unexpected. Frustrating as support wasn't able to fix issues either, but my husband luckily fixed some stuff. Hopefully the rest will start working with the next major update as it appears it was an update for the reason why some things weren't working.
I'm still trying to figure out how to get back into working out. I've just been exhausted and trying to manage keeping up with certain things. There's all the stuff from the garden to deal with, I hope to make soup with tomatoes tonight. Will be seeing my sister's family this weekend for a birthday, the week after will be spending time with hubby's family (and making the trip) as it's his mom's birthday and we wanted to make sure his dad won't be alone that day. Luckily a relative agreed to host a gathering, as I can't go to their house anymore due to a cat.
I partially just want to give up on the workouts for now and focus on just doing general tasks and getting back to where I can feel ok after doing errands and whatever. I know though doing something more focused is good too. I just wish it wouldn't drain all my energy, that would make it so much easier to go back.
@AffyAvo Oh, school typically starts after labour day. I think there were some orientations before that, but the official first day of school was on Tuesday. That's what I grew up with, then when I was older we started going back for a partial week in Aug at times which felt silly and they switched it back. University is the same, although some faculties like Law, Medicine have exceptions.
Nothing exciting this week. So far I have resisted all the junk food at work and have been mostly eating well. I did indulge some this weekend, a lot of alcohol calories on Friday night, and a Blizzard at Dairy Queen last night. I was very sore all week between my regular pains and some extra muscle pain in my arms from my Monday workout. It's not only physically exhausting but mentally wears me down too. A visit to my physical therapist to work on my neck and shoulder, and some analgesic cream on my arms helped me feel better by the end of the week. We had a nice visit with my son and his wife, and will see our other son tomorrow, so I've had some nice family time. I did a lot of cooking on the last 2 weekends, but not sure I will get any done this weekend with all the visiting.
@SadMe70
Sad!! Hey there! Seems like its been forever since we chatted!..lol...
I sent you a PM about two weeks ago or so as well.... Wasn't sure if you saw it.. I know not everyone checks their pms all the time and things can get lost in the shuffle....
AWESOME job at resisting all the work treats!! WOO HOO FOR YOU!!! Way to go!! I KNOW its NOT easy!! Keep up the great work!!...Also, theres nothing wrong with a few minor indulgences ... (In moderation, and then get back on track the next meal or the next day... or really as soon as you can).... In other words as long as we don't keep "dragging" it out... Thats where the "downward spiral" happens lol...... I do hope you enjoyed your Blizzard! What kind did you get?!! I LOVE their 'Smores"!!...But, I only treated myself to "one" of those this summer... They used to have a "Salted Caramel" one as well that I Loved, but .... it was one of those "limited time" things... (Luckily for me I guess!) lol.....
I'm so proud of you to hear that you were able to get a workout in! Way to go! No pain No Gain!! (So they say!) lol.... Awesome work Sad! You really sound like you are really trying to hang in there and stay on track. I know how much you want this!
But... I'm sorry to hear that you are having other physical pains as well outside of the exercises.. I'm glad to hear that you were able to get some relief though via therapy and pain cream.
Glad to hear that things are going well for you and the (Son/Wife)!.. I hope "things" are calming down there for you with her and everything!... Its great that you were able to get time in with BOTH your boys...Family time is the best whenever you can get it in.
I hope you enjoyed your Long weekend holiday... and I thank you so much for checking in this week and letting us know how things have been going in your world! You sound really great this week!.. Keep up the great work you are doing Sad. Take care!
@PoliteOcean

**How many of you will be celebrating the Long "LABOR DAY" holiday weekend ahead? What are your plans?! Meeeee. Not sure what I am doing though :P
**What have been your "highlights" over this past week? going out 2 nights in a row :)
@Mellietronx
Hey there Mellie!
So great to hear from you this week...
I think its really great that you are wanting to be more social! Being more social can help us in so many ways Mentally and emotionally. Good luck to you on that!
Sorry to hear that things have "gone south" in your friendships!? Was it something that has been building up? Or is it something that just came out of the blue? Good thing is that if you plan to become "More social" then that will an awesome opportunity for you to meet new people and make "New" friendships.
Thanks so much for checking in this week and letting us know how things are going for you!.. Hope you enjoyed your long Labor Day weekend~
@PoliteOcean I feel like it came out of the blue :/
Hi PoliteOcean. I had to spend all day in bed on Sunday because I had swelling in my jaw due to one or more decaying teeth. I had to miss mod training, which I'm disappointed about. I called the 24 hour emergency number for my dentist and he said I have to come in to see him on Tuesday. I already had an appointment lined up for Friday, but he said I can't wait that long. I had other appointments scheduled for both Monday and Wednesday, and I'm going to have to cancel them. My dentist said I'm going to have to have at least one tooth extracted. I also have a medical appointment scheduled for the 10th, and I might have to cancel that one also.
@Regmo7
Hey there Regmo!.. So sorry to hear that!..How upsetting all of that must have been for you...
I do hope that you continue to get it all taken care of...... As a nurse, we as people really underestimate how important oral health is to our whole physical well being.... With all the research they've come up with in the past decade and so informing us on all the health issues it can cause if we go without having it taken care of.
So its really good that your dentist didn't want you to wait and really wanted to get you in ASAP to see you!...I hope that they have gotten you taken care of and that you are doing better!
I do also hope that you are able to manage getting your other appointments rescheduled and taken care of too... I know what a hassle it can be to have to schedule and then reschedule again...
Please continue to keep us informed, let us know how things are going for you! And thank you so much for continuing to check in! Great to see you
@PoliteOcean The nightmare has only begun. I went in to see the dentist on Tuesday Sept 4th, and he was over booked and couldn't see me. I asked to come in on Wednesday and they said they were booked solid and couldn't see me. I asked to come in on Thursday and they said they were closed. Finally I went in on Friday, which was my original appointment before all this happened. Well, the good news is I definitely don't have an infection. I will need to have one tooth extracted. The last time I had a tooth extracted the surgery went much better than expected, but the recovery went much worse than expected. My dentist said that's a common experience. I had to cancel a cancer screening and also an appointment for a massage, which I require for my rehabilitation, all because of my dental issues. Ugh.
Hi y'all :D
Checking in, not new to the site and not quiet new to the community :p
September has begun and there goes again my new beginnings to a healthy me. As the weather is getting a lil tiny better, I am more apt to go out doors and do something. Yesterday, went on a hike tho it was a short half hile hike, it was an incline and the other half had boulders with smooth surfaces so I had to climb and use alot of muscles to prevent me from sliding down into water. So needless to say, my muscles are letting me know today that they are awake. hahaha
Anyways, water is definitely a must do and I do have my bottle attached to me :D
Well'p that's it for now...hope everyone is well...Good luck to us :D
@HaileTruci thanks for posting this - you're an encouragement for me to be more active.
@MissPen ... you are so welcome :D I am glad to be an encouragement. I have been on and off the healthy living wagon, I just always try to be positive at every chance I get. Im a on the heavy side so I know that struggle, so I just gotta keep pushing forward :D @PoliteOcean is wonderful to keep me encouraged and motivated and an awesome supporter...thank you Ocean :D
Good luck to us and if I am here whenever you wana chat :D
@HaileTruci
So nice to hear from you!.. Its AWESOME that you are ready to enjoy the start of the new season and that it is motivating you to get out and be more active!...Way to go! And awesome job at getting in that water too!... Sounds like you are taking some really great steps. Please continue to check back and let us know how things have been going for you!
Thank you so much for checking in this week and letting us know how you've been doing!
I just want to get over being sick and i hope autumn sets in early!
@coconut333
Hope you are feeling better... Thanks for checking in this week.. Continue to check back and let us know how you are doing.
@PoliteOcean
Thanks so much. Im feeling better. Like everyone at my school is sick haha. Now im just tryng to get my stuff done.
Hi all - my thoughts are below --
*How have things been going for you this past week? Better. I'm using 7 Cups to help me focus on the positive.
**This is our "FIRST" Check-in for the Month of "SEPTEMBER"~ In what ways are you ready to "take on" the new Month ahead?! - I plan on staying connected to the community, continuing to focus on the positive, and work on a healthier lifestyle.
**What are some "positive" things you are looking forward to this month? What might be some challenges? How can you defeat those challenges? FALL!!! I can't wait for the weather to cool down. But, that brings a huge temptation for me to eat things that aren't healthy. I'll have to plan, and be aware that I can be influenced by what others are eating.
**How many of you will be celebrating the Long "LABOR DAY" holiday weekend ahead? What are your plans?! I had to work.
**What have been your "highlights" over this past week? Lots of self - reflection. Finally faced som things about myself that aren't great, but realizing the problem is part of the battle.
**What things would YOU like to talk about or share with us?! WE want to hear from YOU!!
can't think of anything right now.
@MissPen
Hey there MissPen!.. Its so great that you are finding 7cups to be beneficial to you and that it keeps you focused on the positive!...
Sounds like you have a really good plan at continuing to stay on track with remaining positive, staying connected within the community and towards working on a healthier lifestyle!
Its great that you know your "triggers" as far as your eating patterns, and know that being around others can at times have an effect on what we eat as well. Planning and (perhaps "meal prepping") will do wonders for helping you to stay on track...
Also congrats to you on your "Self Reflection" time!.. It can be challenging and sometimes difficult to face things about ourselves, that perhaps even others might see that "we" ourselves can't or don't.... So great job to you on taking the time to reflect on things and figure things out!
Sounds like you are doing an AMAZING job.. Continue to keep up ALL of the great work that you are doing for yourself! And please continue to check back and keep us informed on how things are going for you and thanks so much for checking in this week!
