**This week has been a pretty mild and fast week.... mostly an "UP" week, with only a "minor Down" or two........ I've pretty much stayed on track/plan with everything..... With my mom out of town, I didn't walk in the mornings, so I managed to get in a few "sleep-in" days this past week. So that was nice.

**With my mom being out of town, I was left to figure out "morning" activity on my own again for the past week. So I ended up "subbing" another instructors Zumba class, in addition to teaching my own. We had some rain this week so it was challenging to get out and walk in the evenings, so I just stuck with other's Group Fitness classes. My mom made it back this afternoon, and the weather was rather nice today, so we got in the "only" walk (morning or evening) of the entire week! lol..

**Today is my "FREE" Day, .. I was supposed to be partaking in a CPR class today, but, that got cancelled at the last minute due to low participation. (Apparently I was the only one who was going to be able to make it)?! frown .... So, since plans changed on that, I will go attend the Bi-Monthly POUND class at the Warehouse and get some "Steps" and "Activity" in for the day instead. Especially since its also my "treat" day. Frankly I'm ready for ALL things "Pumpkin Spice" and "Salted Caramel"! surprise So its that time of year, where I really need to be careful and mindful~

**ENJOY YOUR WEEKEND EVERYONE! yes

Eiikk...i truly hate to check in this week as I have been off track...been working a whole lot and sleeping in between (not an excuse but that's what I have). My water consumption have lessened coz Im sleeping days and working nights, I fill my water only twice but drinking only 1 maybe 1.5 of it :(

I hope this coming week will be better.

@HaileTruci

Haile!...So glad to see you this week!

Sorry to hear that you feel you've been off track this past week. But, it happens, and you shouldn't be too hard on yourself. Sounds like you have been really busy, and with such a busy job as yours, and working the shifts that you do, its understandable that you are sleeping alot!...

Trust me, I KNOW personally how that goes... As a nurse, I feel like I spent most of my life just sleeping away! lol..... So it happens, but its not something that will continue to last, and you will find the time to get back on track again....

Think of it this way... YOUR body knew what it needed more than you did, and apparently it was SLEEP! Right?!...So if its tired, you give it what it needs :) You'll get there again girl!

I'm so glad you checked in this week to keep us up to date and let us know how things have been going with you! I always love to hear from EVERYONE whether you feel you had a good or not so good week. We always love to hear from you!

@PoliteOcean ... thank you! I always love your positivity and motivation. You do understand the 'nurse' life and being someone on this healthy living journey. Thank you for always being here. Truly appreciate it more than I can say.

I am getting in more activity this week as I have not picked up extra shifts, tho I wanted to, I just needed time for me and to 'heal' my body.... i'm staying on track so far. Lol guess I should wait til check in haha

❤ u Ocean...thank you!!!

It is so good that you are being extremely self aware of the important things going on in your life! I think you're doing the best you can do right now, which is amazing and all you can do! With that said, you already know that you can do better so just focus on what thing at a time and don't overwhelm yourself trying to make all these changes. It will come naturally, just stay calm and work hard. :) smiley<3 @HaileTruci

I have had 2 difficult weeks and missed last week's check-in. My anxiety has been so bad lately I considered going back on medication but I really, really don't want to do that. My husband suggested hypnotherapy so I tried a 3 session package (VERY expensive) to help with that and the finger picking that goes along with it. I guess I had a Hollywood impression of what it would be, that I'd be deep under and he'd tell my subconscious to chill out and quit tearing my fingers up. But it was more like regular therapy with my eyes closed. The guy was actually very easy to talk to and after my second visit, when we explored my anxiety, for 2 days I was actually calm and had no urge to pick my fingers. I NEVER feel that way so I was very hopeful even though it only lasted 2 days. The third visit he tried to teach me visualization strategies to work on the finger picking but I can't seem to get into that. So we ended with me being very discouraged because I had gotten so hopeful. That was last week, with my last visit being on the Saturday. I can get followup sessions at a reduced rate but I don't want to try that until/unless I get serious about trying the visualizations to see if it helps me. I am really wishing this guy was a regular therapist I could just go talk to, and which my insurance would then pay part of. I think he could help me eventually but I can't afford it, plus he's an hour away (I live in the boonies so everything is far away).

This week I woke up with a crick in my neck on Tuesday morning from sleeping funny, and it's still not totally gone. I have chronic neck pain already, so having more pain on top of that was really hard to take. I did not get in all my exercise this week, though my eating has not been too awful. I did not eat any of the junk at school, though I had a very fattening French meal on Thursday night.

All four of our vehicles have been in the shop in the past 2 weeks, one of which started not shifting correctly on my way to my last hypnotherapy session so I arrived a total mess from worrying whether the car would break down in traffic, which surely did not help the session.

I hope this week will be better.

@SadMe70

Hey there Sad!...

I am so sorry to hear that you are having trouble with Anxiety! I think all the time you and I have been talking, I don't recall that you mentioning that you had anxiety issues... I assumed it was just the Depression for you. (Although I know they both can go hand in hand and play a part with one another)... It can be so challenging.. Do you feel that something in particular brought it on? Or do you think its just a general attack?

Either way, I know that its not the best feeling in the world. I've dealt with my entire life, since childhood, I wouldn't wish it on anyone to feel that way. Its great though that you at least had an option to turn to and help out. And its always even better when the person is easy to talk to about your feelings. Although I think the older we get, sometimes we don't even care anymore, and just say "everything" and "anything". lol... Its really great that he had some coping mechanisms and strategies to work with you on. And that it wasn't just "talking" the whole time. Because some can be like that too, and you feel like your not getting the help you went there for. I went though like 4 in less than a year before finding one I liked.

It can be frustrating, but if you do like this person, try to hang in there if you can. Since the issue of course won't be taken care of "overnight" persay.... However, I do understand your situation with the medical insurance etc... that itself can be a whole other issue (that can cause its own anxiety as well! lol...) ugh ..frown I do hope the best for you Sad, and that you or he, or even another therapist can figure something out.

Even though you got off track with your exercises, (which is totally understandable if you are in pain!)... Its great that you seemed to stay "mindful" of what you were eating! So great job to you my friend! yes.. I must ask though, WHAT WAS THE FRENCH FOOD??!! What did you have and was it a special occasion?!... Sounds really nice!

Sorry to hear about your vehicle as well... once again, adding yet another stressor...I do wish for you my friend, a much better and awesome week for you ahead! You'll be having some school holidays coming up pretty soon!.... Hang in there! You will have a break soon! Thank you so much for coming to check in this week, and being honest with how things have been going for you! We always want to hear from you regardless. We are here for you and to support you.

@PoliteOcean I forgot to tell you about my French food! I got something called a galette, which was a buckwheat crepe with salmon, spinach, an egg, and creme fraiche. It was yummy! It was not a special occasion. There is a lady from France who lives in my town. She used to have a cafe but then closed it due to illness. She had been catering after she got well, but I recently found out she put an extension on her home to include a commercial kitchen and a carryout area with 2 tables. She is open only Wed-Fri for lunch and then Fri evening. She has some standard items like quiches, and then 2-3 special dinner items per week. Each thing is just a limited number because she's a very small operation. I plan to try to get carryout maybe 2 Friday nights a month. It's a really cool thing to have in a small town with only fast food options!

I really enjoyed reading your post, because of your honesty and your realistic view of things. I do not think you are being negative but instead realistic, which I enjoy. With that said, I do think things will get better for you in due time! Take time to think of the important things, but if you find yourself becoming overwhelmed, try to slow down a bit and think more calmly and peacefully, if at all possible. Someone is always here to listen. <3 smiley @SadMe70

Keeping up with exercise. Did slip a little with healthy eating for a few days last week, but I am back on track.sad I think the cool weather increase your appetite. I cant believe its Fall. I actually like the change of seasons and cool weather is good for exercise. The crisp air is very relaxing to breathe. Continue fall cleanup of the garden shed and yard. Knocking out a lot of steps working in the yard. Hope to get more walking after yard work. Swimming season is over until next year. Enjoy your weekend.smiley

@sail46

Hey there Sail!... always great to reach your check-ins. I want to apologize for not responding to yours last week, it seems like the entire week got so far ahead of me, that I was barely able to get on since last weekend since I was dog sitting for my mom while she was out of town. With hers and mine, my hands were full all week lol... By time I got on here, it was already Friday night, so I figured I would take the time to catch up with you today!...

I Did read your response from last week, and see that you had gotten a little off track with your eating.... (same here frown) .... I loved that you already had a "count-down" on for Springtime! lol... Walking on the beach can be quite a workout..It can be challenging at times to walk in the sand, however, its also been proven to be a great workout because of it!...If I lived that close to the beach (praying one day I will!), I would most likely be there EVERY day (through EVERY season) walking the beach! lol...I love everything about it. Whats not to love, the Ocean waves, the sound, the smell etc....I too miss swimming. So I can understand that feeling. And congrats on ALL of your steps last week! Way to go on the 20,000!!

I think that the "cooler" weather tends to bring "more" eating because we tend to maybe be "indoors" more? I think I read that somewhere.. but its also my guess.. However, I feel summer-time does the same thing as well?! lol.. All the picnics and cookouts etc.. Guess it all comes down to continuing to be "mindful" of what we are doing. I guess "one" day, we can deal with but its when we let it spiral into 2,3, and more days, and beyond, that it can be a real problem. I know neither one of us want to spend time taking off extra holiday damage like last year. lol...

Thanks so much for checking in this week and keeping us up to date. Always love to read yours and see how things are coming along for you.

I'm sick with a cold so not a good way to start off the week. Usual classes are not happening this week (knew that in advance). I had planned to go to Zumba, but with being sick that's coming up too soon. I might just use one of those 5 passes as a drop in elsewhere, but I still don't know Thanksgiving plans but it either will involve hosting people from out of town or travelling so taking a week off especially with being sick doesn't seem like a bad idea. I do feel kind of guilty though just because of how much I have missed in the last few months. I did agree to babysit though so at least that's something (although if feeling poorly it will just be 1 of them, not both and will mostly cover his nap time). Last time I spoke with my sister though I did say I think I'll be able to manage both, my husband's cold was fairly short-lived.

@AffyAvo

sorry to hear Affy... Hopefully you will have a speedy recovery time. And that you won't be off track for too long....

Let me know how the "Class pass" goes, and what you decided to do with it!....

When is your Thanksgiving up there? I know its much earlier than ours, but I couldn't remember when it fell though. Its so crazy to see you talking about Thanksgiving already, but in the grand scheme of things, when I think about it, ours is less than 8 weeks away itself. Goodness this year is flying by.

Thanks so much for continuing to check in (last week) and today, and letting us know how things have been going for you.

@PoliteOcean 2nd Monday in Oct, so this year it falls at the earliest possible date, the 8th. It always seems like it comes too early every year, but since the possibility has come up of 'really hosting' (and not just a small meal when it might have been my sister and our husbands before we had bought houses) I've been more on top of actually paying attention in September when it is. To me the date feels like mid-Oct, but if I wait until Oct to plan anything it's too late!

We're waiting to hear from hubby's family. Whether they want to travel or not.

I had friends over today. Too much I found out the day I got sick - found out people were in from out of town this weekend, promise to do babysitting for my sister. I ended up not going out, had them come here instead. Was sitting pretty much the entire night. Didn't 'host'. I figured me handling plates, glasses etc. for others should be avoided anyway. Got in a nap before they showed up. I think it was a good compromise although I'm worn out now. Just relaxing a bit and dealing with meds before bed.

I did not have the most ideal start to a new week, as I have not slept much (but feel fine), have ate like crap for the past 2 or 3 days, haven't moved much except all at once 1 day, and other minor things like that.

Today my plans are to drink plenty of water to cleanse my body in and out, to move more and really break a sweat to help release some negative toxins floating around, to continue talking to this guy I'm talking to (to see where things may eventually go & because I enjoy talking to him), listen to some music, talk to some people, and other things that are beneficial to my overall health & wellbeing (being as I am a Nutrition + Wellness Consultant. Haha!)

I really, really want to be healthier and at a smaller size for my health and vanity of course. So today I must work on being the best me I can be. Stop being lazy and in the words of Nike & others, "Just DO IT!" Here weee gooooooo!!!

Hey there Bright!... So great to see you this week~

Sorry to hear that you got off track a bit in your healthy living journey... But it sounds like you have mentally made an awesome comeback in wanting to get on track again, and your willingness to turn things around.

I do hope that you have been able to do all the things that you have set out to do so far to make that happen this week!

Thats pretty Awesome that you are a Nutrition consultant. Do you work on your own, or for a company?... It would be awesome if you could make some "Posts" for us here throughout our Healthy Living community? Just some knowledge or some simple reminders perhaps? If you ever feel up to it, or would like to do so?

Thanks so much for checking in this week, and for being so supportive to others throughout the thread! Its much appreciated. Please continue to keep us up to date on how things have been going for you, or really any tips that you'd like to share with us from being a consultant!... Keep up the great work!
