**And ANY and ALL newbies!!**
This week has been alright....Its been BEAUTIFUL here as far as our weather, so I started off the week with my husband and son having dinner. I hardly get to see my son since he works so much. So that was nice.
The next day I had lunch on the Lake with my husband.... The lake where I walk my puppy has a Lakeside Restaruant, I've been waiting over a year to eat there and it just never seemed to happen. But we finally got a chance!.... It may not seem like much but I really enjoyed it, it was so relaxing just looking out at the lake as the boats came in. I felt so relaxed like I was on vacation. lol.....It was certainly the experience that I imagined it would be.
Although I need to get back on track with my water intake and my sleep, I managed to stay on track for the most part with my eating.... And I got in my exercising as well. I also started my new Zumba class on Monday. Hoping that continues to go well since I took over the class for somebody else............ I hope that everyone else has had a good week!~
@PoliteOcean
So nice to hear that you had a good time relaxing with your husband and son! I know how much of a difference something like that can make in our usually hectic lives!
Have fun with your Zumba class! Unfortunately, there are no live classes in my small city, so I just play videos for now and dream of next year when I'll move to a big city where the possibilities are endless... :D
And I'm totally with you with the water intake and sleep. It's so easy to fall off those wagons, but I we can always try to get back on and do better each day. :)
Take care and have a nice week!
@Ravenclaw7
Thank you so much Raven!....
And I do hope that you get the chance to experience Zumba the way you would like to very soon!... Its surely a great workout that is also so much fun doing. Its great to have a workout that you can "stick" to. So I do hope that happens for you soon!
And yes, you are absolutely right, whenever we slip-up on our goals, the next day is Always another chance to get back on track and make things better!
I hope you are doing well, thank you for reaching out and for also checking in this week..... Take care Raven!
Hello! I accidentally added a post with no characters. Oops. Ignore that one!
Yesterday, I ran my first ever race! It was a 5K race and all the proceeds went to the Special Olympics. And during the race, I managed a new personal best: 20 minutes. I ran a 5K in 20 minutes. I was in disbelief so much so that I kept running after passing the finish line because I couldn't believe that I managed to run a 5K in 20 minutes. People had to yell at me to stop running because I passed the finish line. I basically pulled a Forrest Gump.
The final stretch to the finish line was amazing. I was sprinting at full speed and everyone was cheering me on. I've never felt that much support or energy before. It was amazing. Whne I passed the finish line, everyone congratulated me and gave me free food and free water. I was so happy :3
Apparently I was running just behind the tail end of the leading group. I wasn't quite within the leading group though. So that's pretty cool. I was somewhere in between the leading group and the middle group, but far enough in the lead that the middle group couldn't spot but not far enough to be a part of the leading group. That's kinda cool. I'm almost at the point where I can run with the leading group.
I think this is as good of an indication as any that I should start training for 8K & 10 K races. Hopefully I'll be able to transition to half-marathons & marathons one day!
Besides that, school's being stupid by giving me homework. But, I kinda voluntarily signed up for that :P
@JLantern Great job on that 5k! That's an amazing result, you should be really proud of yourself!
I know the good feeling of running, and especially running a race with everyone cheering and making it to the finish line can be quite addictive. So good luck with training and running longer distances in the future!
@JLantern
That is a great check-in JL!... I wish you could give me some of that energy of yours! lol.... I would really love to be a runner and enjoy it as much as you do. I know when I was doing bootcamp and "being made to run", it did such wonders for the transformation of my body. I saw great and fast results for sure!
It is really awesome that you are doing such a great job at reaching these goals for yourself, and by the sounds of it, I can tell you will certainly continue to!... Keep up the great work that you are doing and thank you for checking in this week!
I've done a lot better with my sleep schedule, getting in to bed earlier and getting up earlier. I also have gotten back in to the gym at least an hour, at least 5 days a week. Getting back in the gym, and starting my day that way, allows my stress levels to be managed.
@softFern50 Good job on managing your sleep schedule better and going to the gym!
Sleep is so important for our health and it often gets overlooked... And working out in the morning is amazing! Best way to start the day, indeed! Keep up the good work!
@PoliteOcean
How is everyone doing this week?! I am doing okay.
How has your week gone? Pretty hectic.
What goals do you feel you accomplished this week, or this Month? Cleaned my room
What things do you feel you could work on? getting more rest
What have been the highs or lows? highs: spending time with my boyfriend lows: feeling stressed at work
@Mellietronx
Hey Mellli!... While I'm sorry to hear that you've been stressed at work, sounds like everything else is going great!....ANd while I do hope that your stress decreases some for you at work, Its great that you are managing to stay on track in other areas! Keep up the great work on the things that are going well for you and thank you so much for checking in this week!
I had another good week. Did my usual exercise, ate well from meals I prepped on Sunday. I have had no wine on weeknights for 2 weeks, saving it for Friday and Saturday nights so I don't disrupt my workweek sleep too much. This weekend I'm not getting much meal prep done, but I have a couple of simple meals to add to what I will make.
One reason I'm not getting many meals made is that I'm spending today at our state fair. I haven't been in a few years so I was ready to go again. I am not into rides or midway. I love the animals (goat barn is first on my list!) and the crafts, especially the quilts. The best part is that both of my boys are planning to meet us there! I'm really looking forward to today!
@SadMe70
Nice work with the meal prepping. I know it can make a huge difference during a busy week to just grab something healthy already made rather than some unhealthier options. And not consuming alcohol during weeknights is a really good idea. I'll try to do the same!
Have fun at the state fair and enjoy the good company!
@SadMe70
Awesome check in Sad!....Its great that you have stayed on track by lowerin the wine intake. I know this is something you were wanting to work on, and being able to do it for the past two weeks is awesome work!.....
And the State Fair! Goodness, I haven't been to one of those in years either. I used to go all the time when I lived up north. (You could usually find me standing at the Funnel Cake booth) lololol
...........That sounds like alot of fun. And what better way to enjoy it than with your family and having your boys there. I know even though my son is grown, I still get excited to go and do things with him. It feels like old times when he was little again. lol... I'm sure you are going to have such a great time. I hope at the next check in you let us know how that all went!... Continue to keep up the great work that you are doing with your goals. I'm proud of you . Thanks for checking in this week!
I'm back from my vacation, so I'm feeling great! Besides walking, I haven't done any workouts and my meals haven't been super healthy, but it was a vacation, so it doesn't count!
This month has been quite stressful, but I did manage to workout about 15 days total, which isn't bad. And I haven't lost any weight (trying to lose about 10 pounds), but I'm learning it's a slow journey.
My goals for October are: workout 5-6 days/week, meditate every single day (best 15-20 minutes spent) and reduce junk food to a minimum.
I hope everyone else is doing good and taking care of themselves properly. After all, it's hard to help others when we're not in good shape mentally and physically!
@Ravenclaw7
Ravenclaw... even though the month hasn't gone the way you think your goals should have, its awesome that you acknowledge that and that you know what it takes to get back on track!
Its so incredible how similar our goals are for the new month. Including losing another 10 lbs lol... Best of luck to you on making those goals happen! Just continue to keep up the great work, you CAN do it!.. Thank you for letting us know how you've been doing!
I'm confused looking at my symptoms and trying to figure out the pattern. I thought I would be wiped out again this week with medication schedule, but while I was tired I didn't have the totally wiped out feeling I was expecting.
I did sleep through my scheduled workout yesterday - oops! I made it later in the day to a different session though. It was good, increased weight, added new things, it was hard and I was feeling it at the time. My body responded better than I thought. I was totally exhausted after for a while yesterday. Today I am tired, but I thought I would have some localized muscle pain and I don't. I did wake up feeling achy, but it was very different than DOMS, not sure what that was about maybe just being tired overall.
I hope I can continue challenging myself working out. It's really great that I can give a higher level of intensity without triggering attacks. Care is still needed, but it's nice to be at that harder level.
