~Well.... started off this week enjoying the Labor Day Holiday weekend..... Got a little carried away with "not" staying on track. (It kind of "over-flowed" from my anniversay weekend the week before)....I just wanted to relax and enjoy the last "un-official" weekend of Summer~ So I didn't track any Weight Watchers points, and just tried not to over-do it too much....
.....I went to the Pool since Labor Day was the last day it was opened for the summer months...Even though it was a lovely day, the water was Freezing. So I just dipped my feet, sat and relaxed and enjoyed some alone time~
~I got a few Zumba Workouts in this week and Co-taught one class.... I also managed to get outside and get a little "Walking" in this past week since the weather was better.....I didn't really go hard this week like I usually consider myself to do, I just tried to keep up with my steps and made sure to get my "goal" in daily.
~My anxiety tried to get the best of me a few times, but I held my own, and just tried to continue on the best I could... Today is "REST DAY", so goals for today are just to relax, try to at least get 10,000 steps by doing my regular daily things....and just enjoy the day with my family. Hope everyone else's week has went well!
How has everyone been doing this past week? Amazingly :)
How many of you enjoyed or took part in any "Labor Day" activities? I didn't really. I think I just slept ;)
Did you stay on track this past week? More so than usual :)
What things did you accomplish or feel proud of this past week? my mood has been better
What were your highs or lows? What can you work on? highs would be that my energy has been picking up. I could work on getting more movement in.
Since I checked in late last week, nothing is very different. I am still sick and not exercising much. I'm eating pretty well, and have felt to bad to drink my usual wine which is probably good. Today I went to the dump, got feed and hay for the animals, so I checked off some stuff that needed to be done. I did no cooking and will be out much of tomorrow. I have 2 simple meals planned for next week, and we'll wing it the rest of the time.
@SadMe70
Hey Sad... sorry to hear that your still not feeling as well as you would like.... Its good to hear that you have managed to get the few things in though that you need to get done. So that's a plus. And even better you said you had 2 simple meals planned for the week, and overall that might be better than most do! Some tend to just wing-it day by day, so the fact that you already have yours planned (even just a few) is an Awesome start!..... I do hope you start to feel better soon, take care of yourself and thank you so much for checking in this week and letting us know how you've been doing!
Well I spent most of my week in bed since I was sick
@astray
Sorry to hear that Astray....
On the other hand, if you find the positive in it, perhaps you are allowing your body to get the rest that it needs at this time by doing just that and resting in bed. I hope you start to feel better soon. Take care and thank you for checking in this week.
@PoliteOcean I'm feeling a bit better already thanks for the get well wishes :)
I have been engaging in biking, and inline skating.
I finally realised how much living healthy is affecting my emotional and mental wellbeing, so I am making a weekly plan and an in-case-of-emergency self care plan for myself.
Feeling really motivated.
@Woleyy
That is an AWESOME realization Woleyy!.... And it is even more awesome that you have made a plan for yourself! We are totally here to support you and to motivate you when you need it! Thank you so much for checking in this week! And hope that you continue to inform us on your progress. Keep up the great work ![]()
A few cool things i did this past week. I went to a best friend's house for their biweekly game day and met some new people. It's always fun when I get to hang out with my besties, especially since it's not as often anymore because she has kids. I also had a chance to go to the gym and worked out a little bit harder than I usually do. I'm proud of myself, but I also think I might have pushed myself a little too hard becuase when I got home I felt like I had a bit of muscle weakness for a while. I've also been better at taking my medication on time. We'll see how well this keeps up because the last time I went to the doctor's they kind of scolded me for being inconsistent again since the medication is very important, especially for when I get older.
Occupational health has been better than usual. I have been applying to more jobs and so far I am up for consideration for two of them (and they're in my field!). It's just the waiting game for now on those if I'll be called for an interview or not. *fingers crossed* This part of my wellness is shaky a lot of the time because it's very easy for me to get extremely anxious and think the absolute worst (things like "what if I never get a job?!"). But one day at a time!
@mimameid
Wow Mima... sounds like there has been Alot going on for you!... Its great that you got to hang out with your friends, I'm sure that made you feel good. Its always nice to get together with others and do something different and have a little fun......
Its also great that you were able to get a chance to get your workouts in and that you recognized where you may need to "tweak" your workouts as to not push yourself too hard. And most importantly you are on track with your Medications! That is very important especially if its something you "need" or "have" to take on a regular basis. So that is awesome that you are on a good schedule with that.....
Also, good luck on your job search.... Try to remember not to "overthink" or stress too much....The important thing is that you applied and are doing your best and every little step you take counts. Most times great things happen when you 'Least" expect them too! So I'm sure your time will come with a great job.... Keep up the great work that you are doing! And thanks so much for checking in this week and letting us know how you've been doing!
I engaged in some cardio activities last week. I went out biking a few times, and also did some inline skating. I set up my Wii Fit board in the living room, so I can do some step exercise.
Labour day just meant some time with others. I get lots of time off - it's the others who do not! So an extra day where I'm not alone most of the time is welcome
My last workout was good, I did 1 new exercise plus step ups on something that was much higher than what I have done in the past. Even when I was extremely active stepping up onto something which my thigh had to point upward instead of being parallel or pointing down wasn't something I found to be easy. So while my reps were low and often needed a few seconds in between most of the them I still feel pretty good about it. The other one is a bit humbling - sitting and standing one legged on the step at the same height. Was easier than the step ups and I while they felt easy I could also tell there were some areas that I would be feeling later and I did. Upper body was certainly ramped up and I was feeling that a few days later too but it felt healthy after not totally crashed out (although I certainly did need to make use of time to rest).
A few weeks ago I was given an exercise that I found difficult. I've had it in the back of my mind to do it at home but a bit easier. I'll try to add that in sometime this week - I need to find something of the appropriate height to do it.
@AffyAvo
Hey Affy!
Happy to hear that you got some time with others and do what you wanted!
It sounds like you've been changing up and adding to your exercise routine and that is so awesome. Lower reps and breaks are still reps and exercise. It's so awesome that you didn't totally crash out! I know your chronic illness has lead to difficulties with exercise so this sounds like a great success.
Good luck with your new exercise! I hope you are able to incorporate it in a way that is healthy for you and that it is fun.

@DancingAlong Thanks! I feel so much stronger than when I started with this personal trainer. I had done some things before getting to the point of working with her too, so it really has been a big change since getting the HAE diagnosis.
I'm still a far ways off from exercising like a 'normal' or 'healthy' person. There is absolutely no way I could do what I'm doing every other day (which is still less than 3x/week) and still function to do daily tasks. Seeing her twice in a week is a challenge when it happens on occasion and the 2nd workouts I've tried fitting in are not 1 hr sessions.
I hope I can safely manage to fit in a few selective exercises on my own in general. While feeling a little healthier means I can increase the intensity of my weekly sessions, that increase can't be too huge. So I'm thinking doing some of the things I find hard for a few minutes with a bit of a warmup (maybe taking laundy up and down!) can be a way to safely challenge my body a little more.
@AffyAvo
I haven't had time to read or respond to your post Affy since we were without power and internet for 2 days......
Thats great to hear that you got to spend time with others over the Holiday weekend and that you seemed to enjoy yourself. Thats always a good thing!..... Its also a great thing that you found time and some energy to get in the activity that you wanted as I know this can be a challenge for you at times. So that is great news!
And I hope by the next check in, that you would have had time to try the other exercise that you've been wanting to do and you can let us know how that worked out for you!.... Keep up the great work, its great that you are feeling good about it all!
Thanks so much for checking in this week and letting us know how you've been doing!
Hello everyone!! I know i have been MIA lately, i have been story busy with work and I've actually started at a new hospital so I'm getting through orientation now... busy schedule.
I'm trying to stay in track but its hard... my walking goals haven't really been met, but that coz i have to take off my tracker to be in the pool. I also haven't been journaling my meals 🙈 but I'm drinking all my water and i stop eating when full.
I haven't weighed myself lately but I'm happy to report that I'm 30lbs down from when i started. Slow progress, but its a progress for me 😁
I've had to fight battles with some depression and anxiety and I'm trying my best not to go back on meds... so crossing my fingers on that. Plus i discovered Noni last night and she's adorable, i may use her just to keep me positive.
That's all for now...
Hope you all are doing well ... till next time 😍
@AliNurse
Hey Ali! Its so great to see and hear from you!...
Hope that you are enjoying your new work location!?....... I know that as a busy nurse it can be challenging at times to stay on track, but throw a new position in the mix, and it can be even more challenging as well while you're going through the orientation and all the new things that you will need to know.....But its Awesome that you are able to stop when you are feeling "full".. Not everyone can do that or has that kind of restraint! So great job with being able to recognize those signals and being able to do that! Very Positive.
Its ok that you haven't met your walking goals if you have been in the pool getting in activity... My OCD pushed me all summer between being in the pool as well as getting in my steps...And honestly it was challenging trying to keep up with "Both". Its just great that you were in the pool and doing something positive for your health.
And 30lbs down?!! Wow! That is Awesome for you!!... I know you might feel that this is "slow" progress for you, but none-the-less, its been "Progress"!.... Great work!!![]()
Sorry to hear that you are dealing with the Anxiety and depression ... I know that feeling all too well... And I certainly understand your feelings of not wanting to be on meds as its not for everyone (for whatever your personal reasons might be)....I do hope that you are finding help in other ways or perhaps able to use some type of "coping skills". And its great that you have found "Noni" ... You might find her to be very helpful for you in just talking with her as well... (I think she is pretty cool too
)
Keep up all of the great work that you have been doing... and good luck with your new job!... Continue to take care of yourself! And thank you so much for checking in with us this week and letting us know how you've been doing!
@PoliteOcean ... Thank you so much! Your positivity, encouragements and support is so appreciated!!! 😍😍😍
