Spaghetti Aglio e Olio

Ingredients:

8 oz (225g) spaghetti
4 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (adjust to taste)
1/3 cup (80ml) extra virgin olive oil
Salt and black pepper to taste
Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Grated Parmesan cheese (optional)

Instructions:

1. Cook the spaghetti according to the package instructions in a large pot of salted boiling water until al dente. Reserve about 1/2 cup of pasta water before draining.
2. While the pasta is cooking, heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the sliced garlic and red pepper flakes. Sauté for 1-2 minutes until the garlic is golden but not browned.
3. Once the pasta is cooked, transfer it directly to the skillet using tongs. Toss the pasta in the garlic-infused oil, making sure it's well coated. If the pasta seems dry, add a bit of the reserved pasta water to loosen it up.
4. Season with salt and black pepper to taste. Toss the pasta for another minute or two, allowing it to absorb the flavors.
5. Serve the Spaghetti Aglio e Olio in bowls, garnished with chopped fresh parsley and grated Parmesan cheese if desired.

Enjoy your simple and delicious Spaghetti Aglio e Olio! Feel free to customize it by adding your favorite ingredients like cherry tomatoes, olives, or grilled chicken if you'd like.

This is my favorite thing to make when I don't have time to cook. It's cheap and quite filling. Thank you for sharing.

The red pepper flakes would make it spicy.
