Any guitar players on here?
Hi! I'm Laurel. I have ADHD and even though I like playing guitar, I only play when I'm in the mood and if I have something fun and easy to play. I don't know what to play right now. Any suggestions? I crave novelty, so I kind of get bored easily. I like to strum chords. I really like embellished chords, and I don't like/can't play bar chords. I'm open to fingerstyle if it's fairly simple.

Wow, the guitar sounds amazing 🥰
I would love to learn it in the future 💛

@easyScarf7950 I play the piano and recently i bought a violin. Piano is much easier for me, i am having a hard time tuning my violin though. And i also have a guitar, but back in the day, it was hard to play songs or learn without a teacher, but it needs fixing. I play interstellar, Now we are free (gladiator) or hans zimmer, coldplay songs, i am usually interested in meaningful music, but i would like to recommend this piece:

Hi Laurel,
Try listening to Al Petteway videos online.
He was a really really creative fingerstyle guitar player.
And he wrote some amazing instrumental guitar music.
The music might sound very intricate and difficult to play.
But actually it is usually a lot easier to play than it seems
because he wrote it in open tuning.
And the open tuning makes it sound really nice too.
Now if you are ready to start an amazing musical journey,
listen to his videos online,
pick a simple song that you like a lot
and that sounds easy for you.
Then search for the TAB music online
or buy the music books he sold that have the TAB music
and are still published.
Or get his instruction videos that are still published.
Then you will be able to have a lot of fun for years
learning and playing all different Al Petteway songs
because he wrote a lot.
And they are all instrumental
(except a few he wrote with his wife Amy)
so it's easier to like fun creative beautiful instrumental guitar music.
I have so so sooooo many favorite Al Petteway songs.
I never ever get tired of them.
I love his songs and love playing them.
And you can learn to play them - I guarantee -
but you need to be patient and learn them bit-by-bit
and after time you will be able to play them from memory
and you will be amazed at how good a fingerstyle guitar player you became!
Good luck Laurel
