Secure, long-term, properly funded social services and safe long-term accessible public housing to meet the needs of everyone in any given community so they can live healthy, happy, long, and dignified lives and participate in society like everyone else can.
I feel like addressing these existential needs for safety and long-term security first are foundational to being able to derive pleasure from hobbies.
@Zeraphim This is a great idea & I'm for it, generally...once such measures are passed they would have to be fine-tuned a bit, to adapt to conditions in a real-life community.

A steady supply of hardwood lumber. Doesn't have to be exotic or fancy...any species of oak would do. It's good enough for framing a house. White ash would be great too but it would be prohibitively expensive.

but not on a dingy or a sail boat i want to be at the helm of a metal ship whatever size it may be and control it as i move near the coast
