I have to admit that it was a lot of things that got me to write poetry, and while not my only hobby it is now my most consistent. So to be honest, I was taking a English course at college and we had a poetry section. I had always loved peotry but didn't think I could write it nor felt the need to search out poetry to read it was just something. But the class had us write some but more so analyze them, and analyzing things is one of my favorite things (or something I do the most of). So that was fun, then stuff happened my mental state took a noise dive and I decided to check a little website called seven cups out again. After a bit I stumbled across a few poets. One of which happened to be the wonderful and amazing Azurepond, I enjoyed reading her poems more than any other peom before (tho I have to admit I didn't read very many poems before.) I also got to see someone else analyzing in the form of bastionKnight and it was amazing. I had already written some poetry from the class and became of anime, but it was mostly meaningless rhymes, but I was encouraged by them and other poetry on here, peotry so raw and real to try my own. And the most important factor was I had multiple people who read them and liked them and commented and encouraged me. Especially Pond as I rarely got told any of my writing was good before, mush less but such a wonderful poet. Soo yea that's who I got into poetry, a whole group of dominoes fell into place, and now I have a hobby I enjoy, and one that helps me process my unfelt emotions.
So thank all of you, especially the ones who read any of my mediocre work! Love you all goodnight 🩵

*Smiles* It is delightful that you have found inspiration and motivation to showcase your work. Do not sell yourself short 7Bear7, mediocre is not a word that remotely comes to mind when I think of 7Bear7, so why would the poems and prose be so when the source they flow from is not.
Keep writing, keep writing, and the world becomes that much richer because of it.

*Grins happily* thank you kind knight! Glad you like my work. Tho I think I failed here when I said mediocre work. I ment that on this site I feel more comfortable not being perfect or not being a perfectionist with what I type, so I can actually write poetry here because I don't spend hours and hours trying to my every single letter in it be perfect. Hence it's my more mediocre work because it's not my best, but it's what I can make without stressing. I hope that clears up my poor word choice.

Apologizes for not responding, I am doing a lot better than a week or more ago, I took a break after some stuff. So I am doing actually decent to Good.

@7Bear7 That honestly means the world to me. I’m so glad you found your way into poetry and that it’s become something steady and meaningful for you. It’s never really about whether the writing is ‘good’ or not but about whether it feels honest — and yours always does, Bear. I think that’s why people connect with it.
It makes me smile to know I played even a small part in encouraging you. Bear, you’ve definitely encouraged me too... more than you realise. You, Sir Knight, Blue Dark Aurora, Kiara, Tiny, Pine Tree, Cyanessence, Soul, Tulip, Su, Green Lime, Zen — and all the other wonderful people on 7Cups who commented on my poems, encouraged me and made me fall in love with writing again… you’ve all been such a gift.
Keep at it, Bear.... poetry has a funny way of meeting us where we are and giving shape to the things we can’t always say out loud.

My friends!
While I do art and stuff since it's literally my college major, literally all my other hobbies showed up because of the friends I have.
I started going to the gym with my friends cause they asked and I said why not!
They were talking about a show that they think I would really like, so I watched it.
I joined the orchestra when I was in middle school to be in class with them. One of my friends even convinced me to try D&D because they needed one more player at the table and now my hobbies make my friendship stronger too. Win win.

Mine is woodwork.
How I got into it: my mother's 2nd husband was a woodworker. I learned the basics of the craft from him...as his apprentice, I built a writing table that I kept for a while after he d.ied. A few years later, my knee started hurting so I had to walk with a cane. I knew I didn't want one of those chintzy aluminum ones from drugstores & Wally World, so I broke out my tools & started building canes. So far I've made nine...the 2nd one was a paid commission for a friend.

@MartaJ Does that involve gymnastics-like stuff but hanging from those bolts of cloth, that people into circus stuff use?
Basically yes, But you don't need any special skills to train this 😊 Unlike aerial gimnastics that is much more advanced.

My is guitar and writing music, I grew up in a home where music was always on and my family says I’ve been coming up with songs since I was little! I really started getting into it about two years ago though, it was after a rough patch in my life so I guess that’s what got me involved :)

Wanting to get out of a dark space within and around me. Beadwork helped me start healing and love my body all over again. Even when I was not getting the love I wanted at that time in life. I gained more peace of mind while beading

I was going to my school and there was a new student,I really loved the attention when I was young I thought they are just around her because she is new but she could draw and that made everyone around her for a long time so I felt it's a challenge ,I decided to draw either and the end that all attention got back to me .
