Good morning everyone, InsightfulPhoenix (Phoe) with another discussion topic, this is the Trigger warning for this discussion: will contain mentions of disrespect, intrusive thoughts and prioritizations within oneself. Now that the trigger warning advisory is out of there way, let us begin!

I would like to take the time to discuss something that I believe has not been discussed enough or as of late. Society is full of disrespectful people and generations of family members or friends being rude towards us due to upbringing. This discussion falls in the Thinking Section. This discussion will utilize the Complex thinking and Perspective skills an slight sense-making subsections.

When someone is rude to you, usually it hurts and makes us feel down of ourselves. Which is normal and valid to feel, because they are rude. However, what if there was a way to make sure that you are removing yourself from their abrasive and rude behavior?

Here are the questions for discussion:

1. When was the last time you dealt with someone rude that you utilized the sense-making skill and perspective skill together? An why?

2. Where you able to utilize the complex thinking skill? If yes, why did you use it and if no why didn't you?

3. What are some ways you use this section in daily life to combat negativity?

@InsightfulPhoenix

This is an uncomfortable but relevant topic that we often don't think about.

I have found that with disrespectful people, adding clear boundaries and avoiding getting angry/getting emotional can be a good strategy. What you don't want to do is responding in the same manner.
