Slowing Down🌷

I wanted to share a quick reflection on something that has made a huge difference in my day-to-day life: appreciating beauty.

When I look at my personal core strengths, noticing beauty in the world around me is definitely near the top. But for a long time, I used to think of it as just a nice, gentle habit rather than something practical. Lately, though, I’ve realised it’s actually one of the most effective ways to practice real mindfulness.

Life gets busy, fast, and stressful, and nowadays you can especially feel it.

It’s so easy to go through the day on autopilot, stuck inside our own heads worrying about what’s next. For me, taking a second to notice something beautiful, like the way the evening light hits a room, a cool pattern in nature, a piece of art, or even just watching someone show a quiet act of kindness - instantly pulls me back into the present moment.

It acts like a reset button. You can’t truly appreciate beauty without slowing down and actually paying attention (and here comes one book recommendation: „The things you can see only if you slow down” by Haemin Sunim). That’s where the mindfulness comes in. It forces you to stop rushing, step out of your stress, and just be right where you are.

It doesn't take extra time or money, it just takes shifting your focus. Finding beauty in small, simple things keeps me grounded, grateful, and mentally clear when things get hectic.

Do any of you feel like noticing beauty helps you stay present?

How do you practice staying grounded when life gets busy?

@yuliiablossom

I have to get outside and connect with nature.

@yuliiablossom you know the whole "touch grass" thing started out as a way for young people to insult others, but to me its literal. "Touching grass" or notiv=cing the beauty in the world can be detrimental for grounding. It takes me out of my own heads and allows me to see things for what they are in the grand scheme of hings
