How to improve your critical thinking skills

Critical thinking belongs to the thinking dimension of the Inner Development Goals framework. This dimension is about developing and applying critical, creative, and systemic thinking skills to address complex challenges and opportunities.

Critical thinking is the ability to interpret, evaluate, and analyze facts and information, to form a judgment or decide if something is right or wrong. It helps us solve problems, make decisions, and communicate effectively.

To improve our critical thinking skills, we can:

- Be curious and open-minded. Seek out new information, perspectives, and experiences that challenge our assumptions and beliefs.

- Be skeptical and analytical. Examine the evidence, logic, and sources behind any claim or argument. Look for inconsistencies, contradictions, and biases.

- Be reflective and self-aware. Recognize our own strengths and weaknesses, emotions and motivations, and how they affect our thinking and judgment. Seek feedback and learn from our mistakes.

- Be creative and innovative. Generate and test multiple solutions and alternatives to a problem or situation. Use our imagination and intuition to come up with original and novel ideas.
