@jennysunrise8
I'm late to the (literal) party, but just want to say I'm glad you're here.
There have been well over a dozen times when I've opened a thread, seen someone's message, felt like "Oh...I really hope someone is helping this person", and then I scroll down and see a beautifully written post by you that has satisfied that need. And that's just what I've been able to see of you on the forum, in the handful of threads that I am following. It doesn't even begin to capture all of the one-on-one chats you do, of which I have absolutely no awareness.
I remember a couple weeks ago, I was going for a walk and I was sort of daydreaming and had a funny thought enter my head that Jenny is actually a pseudonym for a hive mind of a hundred clones all working in tandem (to solve crime, prevent forest fires, save baby carriages that are faling down staircases a la Battleship Potemkin, etc.) Lol.
@frigidstars27
lol i dont know about always preventing forest fires 👀 sometimes i dont say the right thing and people get upset with me or maybe it is the right thing but people just dont see it as the right thing at the time like when a fire burns down a building but then people find out the building was being used as something harmful to people sometimes things arent as they appear to others or to ourselves and what looks confusing and - rambling at one time the same thing comes together and makes sense later its happened several times here on this website like sometimes i will read something you wrote and not understand or see it but then something happens or i talk to someone and then it does and then i think how did that happen did you know that are you some genious with your word art that you knew that or whats going on?
my mind sees this place as an art museum and people are artists and im seeing their original art although ... im not sure of my own and not sure if i want to put it up knowing there must be outspoken critics around and even seeing hearing them for a fact know it but realize that i want to do it enough for some reason that i cant exactly understand other than wanting to express myself but its more than that also but i just feel as this museum makes my mind spin with all thats in it and sometimes i have to walk out because its overwhelming and the terrifying unknown of what my mind might be after the spinning is over that i have no idea as it never happened before .... and i really enjoy reading what you write stars your pictures and analysis i read it and thank you for what you wrote just now here in some thread made for me that at first i was embarassed about but it made me start thinking about things i avoid and things that make me embarassed and how my mind can be so wrong sometimes - so this is my long rambly train of thought reply saying "thank you i appreciate you too 💓" that a normal person might say 😁
@jennysunrise8
I feel what you're saying that sometimes something feels wrong or doesn't make sense but later it clicks and feels applicable. Sort of like a timing thing of whether the conditions are ripe for someone to hear something and be able to absorb/accept it or feel like it works for the space/state tha tthey're in.
I love what you're saying about seeing this place as an art museum.
I'm feeling a bit of anxiety about possibly crossing a sort of role/account boundaries where I'm a member and you're a listener. (Though my sense from past things you've written when you've cared for me is that you're someone who wants a basic human-to-human connection that isn't hamstrung by roles that might get in the way of something beautiful.) If I bracket off my anxiety based on this educated guess that you're not going to bite my head off for blurring roles (lol), I imagine myself wanting to say/do the following:
* Empathize with your anxiety about self-expression
* Express interest in this desire you've described to share things despite feeling uncertain about potential criticism
* Empathize with your feeling of there being so much art here that sometimes it's too much to take in, and needing to retreat for fear of getting overexposed to radiation or going past a personal limit
* Share that I can imagine myself feeling embarrassed too if there were to be a big thread devoted to celebrating me. :)
* Wonder about what you mean by "things you avoid" where your "mind can be so wrong sometimes", in the context of feeling embarrassed about people saying/doing nice things to you :)
* Share that it made me smile when you said how a 'normal' person might respond
* Express my appreciation for long, rambly things (and my theory that maybe sometimes things end up that way just because you're in touch with yourself and trying to express what you really feel, but it's a bit nebulous or complex so it ends up being a bit experimental rather than something where you know in advance what you're going to say and what the best way is to say it)
@frigidstars27
i think the role of member and listener is only limited to if you are seeking support/advice you should be on a member account and if you plan to give advice or support to someone seeking it you should be on a listener account - in theory - but how many members support other members there are too many the theory the blurring happened long ago and any unrealistic idealistic attempt to unblur that in the forums have and will inevitably fail if the site were to strictly enforce the idea of only listeners giving support and no members allowed to support one another or support anyone at all that would take many more "enforcers" to succeed in that and then also there would be a problem i think with recruiting enforcers to punish people for doing such a thing ;) so lines are already blurred and as much as i value consistency i believe in the logical concept that failed experiments should be accepted and learned from and not held on to stubbornly for the simple fact that it was conceived and once thought a good idea no experiment should have more respect than reality and realizations/human learning and growth
lol i feel like i could talk to you for hours about a lot of different things just one of your posts each point is worth a discussion its more like an art museum with every form of art that can possibly be expressed is expressed and the museum is also experimental with some learning and some holding onto old failed theories and all these people crowded together in one place so yea a lot going on here is an example of a huge understatement - and for your wondering mind about what i said about embarassment i was just referring to avoiding embarassment in general things i might see as potentially embarassing and therefore avoid because of that potential it could be embarassing although it might be uncomfortable if it hadnt happened some good things wouldnt happen you wouldnt have commented and nothing in this thread would have come into existence if it had been avoided so that just makes me think of other areas of my life where i avoid because of potential embarassment i just feel like im becoming a more open minded person about some things i was not before 💓
@jennysunrise8
So much truth in what you wrote...
@jennysunrise8
I'm laughing imagining a 3rd account type called "The Enforcer". :)
Makes sense what you're saying about embarrassment. Sort of like a butterfly-effect type thing where lots of positive stuff has happened that wouldn't have been possible if the initial thing hadn't occurred.
@frigidstars27
i would love to read a play(s) if it ever comes into existence about the complexities and contradictions of 7cups i think one of your greatest talents is playwriting your good with creating characters and conversations the characters have i like reading those - i would imagine most would be comedies ;) and many would watch the plays if you produced any about 7cups although you might want to message a wise old timer such as @rarelycharlie and run the scripts by him and a few others privately maybe to see if anything might be too 'before its time' or too sensitive but im sure he would be more than delighted to hear and critique any playwriting about 7cups
@jennysunrise8
Thank you for the kind words about my 'characters'. :)
Re: a 7Cups-inspired fictional world/story, that sounds like a really interesting idea/project. Agree that it would have to be *super* careful with certain things. Brainstorming some things that I feel like I'd need before I could write something like that.
1) Feel some reassurance that there's a broader message, theme, value, moral, goal embedded into there that is ultimately beneficial or helpful for people.
So not just a dark comedy with me cynically slinging mud at a bunch of people for my own amusement. Which I mean, of course that would probably be something pretty playful and super-fun to write for all of the rule-breaking and free-roaming experimentation it would do. But it would be inappropriate and I would definitely feel like I was doing something wrong in sharing it. Like, I'm just imagining putting it out there and having it start a war if people latched onto certain things, sort of like Nietzsche inspiring Nazism.
Maybe it would be figuring out what sorts of deep/complex conflicts exist on this site and trying to explore all of those.
2) Feel like I have a broad enough understanding of this site's user base (both members and listeners) and all of the different philosophies and strategies people use for existing on this site.
Currently, I tend to limit my interactions on this site to a handful of people that I get along with really well. So, if I were to write something right now, possibly certain types of characters would be handled really compassionately, while everybody else would be handled in a pretty shallow way. It would come across as a pretty self-serving thing that's elevating my own tribe and just slagging or ignoring everyone else. (Sort of like there are some less feminist movies out there where there might be some women in the movie, but the lamp shade in the background has a deeper backstory and more character development than they do, lol.)
I would probably want to develop some kind of system that basically categorizes everybody on this site into a set of general stereotypes or character types, and then use that as a starting point.
3) Figure out who I'm trying to write it for.
4) Feel like I have a compassionate enough perspective toward this site's user base.
5) Feel like I'm able to defend it as something that is consistent with the rules/goals of this site.
6) Feel like I'm not sharing too much of myself or being autobiographical in a way that feels like it undermines my own safety.
@frigidstars27
right it would take work and consideration of a lot of things i dont think you would ever want it to be a dark comedy or insulting to any group of people or any individual and be careful not to recreate any past or present conflict so in other words something very obviously fictional to everyone that would be important and you would have to have a purpose for writing it it could just be purely for comedy or comedy with a hint at something you would like to see changed an improvement putting forth a popular opinion vs an unpopular opinion - but to even hint at something you want changed in a lighthearted comedic way and even if its popular would require you to be really passionate about it and have an understanding about it in depth you could do some kind of comedy/fantasy about you and a few friends doing something in a 7cups inspired fantasy world and everyone rises to some position of power or something but you would still want everyone to have good lines and actual personalities not just the main characters lol if its going to be something seen my a wider audience than just a few close friends who are the main characters
but id like to read any kind of play on 7cups even if its a silly fantasy or something futuristic about 7cups maybe youll think of something :)
@jennysunrise8
It is like plunging and diving in cold water Jenny, you are afraid to do it the first time, then you get a shock when doing it but after that it becomes good, you feel more confident with whom you are knowing that sharing with people is not not going to be the end of the world...maybe it will come a time when you would like to open up, make art of yourself, not stand on the side benches but maybe dance with us...Jenny...
@snowGlobes
right if you dont dive you would never see things like bubble that are like sparkles in the water ;) i think im getting closer to the idea of starting a thoughts/feelings thread somewhere i already do that everywhere i write so i think your right its just that ive never done that in one place before other than my own profile space that i guess feels to me like a more private space
@jennysunrise8
Indeed, the site's constraints are so frustrating, me as a member not being able to chat with my other member friends or edit my own thread...aaaaarrrrgh...
Listen people, I don't want to become a listener to be able to talk directly to my friends....*howls at the wind and moon*
