Frustrated and Asexual

I'm so frustrated being on the asexual spectrum and trying to figure out how to navigate relationships. I feel like as a college student everyone is always talking about their sexual experiences or wanting them and I just can't relate at all. People I've dated have shown interest in sexual things and I just run the other way. I just don't have an interest almost at all in it. The thought of having sex too when I don't want it freaks me out. I feel like I'll never find a solid relationship or someone who understands how I feel. I just feel kind of lost at the moment.

Sorry to hear that your feeling so frustrated. Do you know what type of "ACE" your identify with most?

In all honesty, I'm trying to figure that out. I do experience sexual attraction, but it's extremely rare for me. I think I'm either gray ace or demisexual. I think I'm gray-ace, but honestly, I don't know anymore

That's a good starting point. It's hard enough when others don't understand what it means to be ACE.

It may be helpful to know exactly where you stand, so it's easier to explain to those who you trust.

Those who are most worth your time romantically will try to understand.

Wishing you quality relationships 🌸

henlo. a fellow ace here as well. its normal to feel uncomfortable about sex when youve not felt connected emotionally to a person yet. i think we tend see sex more objectively than what some allos do, i.e., sex as some sort of short term gratification, seen in their fwb and one-night-stands. i know its easier said than done but try to take things at your own pace. theres no need to compare yourself to others; youre living a different life from them, so why try to fit in? asexuals are about 1% of the whole population, but it is possible to date an allo if both of you communicate well with each other of expectations. all ze best~
