So, over time Ive figured out I'm bi. I didn't really surprise me too much when I figured it out, and looking back at my past actions and such its a wonder I didn't figure it out sooner.

One of my main issues is with telling others, and how they will respond. I live in a Christian household, I'm homeschooled, all the events and things I go to are faith based, you get the idea. And I love being Christian!

I don't want to stop being Christian. But theres so many conflicting voices and opinions about homosexuallity in the church, and it feels like some kind of forbidden taboo topic that we can't talk about, at least, when it is talked about it is ridiculed or downplayed as some kind of 'ultimate sin', that will send you to *** no matter what. And its crazy to me how many Christians seem to think that, because the whole point of Jesus Christ dying was to save ALL of us, every single person!

The thing is, I don't want to go through this alone. Theres so much more I could put in this post, but I really want to talk about it with some adults in my life that I know I can trust with confidential information. I'm so terrified at the idea of telling other Christians how I feel, because of the behavior Christians generally have towards LGBTQ+ people. The ladies I know have been very understanding, and are always super supportive, and don't judge me, but I still feel like some sort of irredeemable monster that cant be loved because of some feelings I have that I cant control. I know I'm not the only one who's been in this kind of situation, but since homosexuality is so taboo for some reason, it often gets pushed under the rug, buried so the uncomfortable-ness goes away and we can pretend there's no problems at all!!!!!!!!!

I just really don't want to feel like Im hiding from everyone anymore. Of anyone has any advice, I would appreciate it! Thanks for reading my exposition, hehe!

@JustaMii the experience of me and lots of other queer people is that while some religious people can be accepting, churches generally preach against queerness and they're never a welcoming environment. It's possible to be religious and queer, sure, but queer and actively part of a church? This is hardly going to happen. You can still practice your beliefs, though, as the message of love of christianity is not - or is not supposed to be - against queerness. Being bi doesn't harm anyone in any way, it's simply your personal way of loving.

Remember, you don't owe a coming out to anyone. Your safety and well-being come first. If you want to wait until you're more independent and can make your own choice autonomously from your family, that's fine! If you still want to come out, though, be ready for lots of questioning and judgement. Stand your ground and don't let prejudice make you feel unworthy or less deserving of love and respect. It would be good for you to build a support network first, by coming out to trusted people and friends that you know will be supportive, or reaching out to the LGBT community near you - there surely are LGBT circles next to you that can relate with your experience!

Don't let anyone bring you down. I wish you the best!

@JustaMii

First of all, welcome to the forum', Mii. And know you are welcome here, safe space.

One of my main issues is with telling others, and how they will respond. I live in a Christian household, I'm homeschooled, all the events and things I go to are faith based, you get the idea. And I love being Christian!

That is great you feel strong connection to your faith/spirituality. There are many religions/churches that are LGBTQ+ accepting. Here, in Canada, United Church, Unitarian Church are examples of LGBTQ acceptance.

Know that you are not alone, with being LGBTQ, as well as being Christian/spiritual/religious. As mentioned above, there are supportive churches, religions, spiritualities that welcome.

I am sorry you are going through this. Our 'being' and our 'spirit' is who we are. I encourage you to seek/reach out to LGBTQ accepting faith -based organizations for somewhere to connect. As well, alot of LGBTQ organizations have referal resources .

I just really don't want to feel like Im hiding from everyone anymore. Of anyone has any advice, I would appreciate it! Thanks for reading my exposition, hehe!
