Going through it
Hello everyone, I'm new here. I just broke up with my boyfriend of 4 years. Hardest thing ever. Sadly we have had a lot of trust issues in the past. I have caught him being unfaithful more than once. I have gave him so many chances. He lies and does secretive things behind my back. At this point he is taking advantage of me. He's not a bad person but he doesn't know how to be in a relationship. He had gotten out of a toxic relationship and he jumped into one right with me when we met. I know I have to leave him and that's the best thing for me to do. He has made me become a very damaged person. I don't like who I am. I've become someone who constantly worries and am always horrified of what's he doing. I have really bad trust issues because of this. It's only been a few days and he's all I can think about. He's not even making an effort to reach out to me or anything. I don't plan on getting back with him even though a part of me wants to make things work. But I know deep down I won't. It's just very hard dealing with all these emotions and the feeling betrayal. Any tips on how to get through this break up?

I'm sorry you are going through a breakup. It can be hard to go through one, even if you are the person initiating it. I'm glad you realized how the relationship was affecting your mental health and chose to end it though. 7Cups has some good resources for breakups. Here is a self-help guide on overcoming breakups. I know it might not seem like it, but I promise things will get better in time <3
