Need help with a name...
Hi, I'm Andrea (name given at birth), I'm 24 and I came out as Nonbinary last year. Since then, I've been struggling with my name. I don't want to use the name I was given at birth. It has trauma tied to it and it's very femme for me as I am trying to lean more towards the androgynous side of being an enby. The name means a lot to my father however, as he named me after his friend who passed from leukemia. I want a new name for myself but also feel bad about wanting to change my name. I really like nature inspired names, such as Sorrell or Juniper, but Juniper feels too femme for me also. I'm just struggling with the decision on whether or not to change my name and what I would want to change it to...

I honestly love the name River. I just overthink names a lot and worry that I'll love them for now then hate it later. Because I've seriously considered River and Sorrel but I'm so worried I'll change my mind after everyone gets used to the name.
you could go by andy, since its similar to your birth name but is a more neutral nickname?

@PumpkinNight137 hi, i found a new name recently and i thought i'd share how i picked it. It's Phrie Lions- i changed my last name too bc of trauma with my parents. I found a word that meant something to me, Perihelion. that means the point in a planet's orbit that is closest to the sun. Then I sectioned it. Lions is a common last name so i separated that, then i was left with Perihe, which is hard to say so i rearranged the letters to Phrie. I picked that to be the name bc it's pronounced free and it reminds me that i'm free of my parents and all the toxicity of my childhood. that might be a bit complicated and you can do whatever you want with the advice. but if you think any part of it is helpful then i'm glad i could help.

Hey! I have struggled with my gender identity for a while, the way that I figured out my own name was by looking through the most popular names in my birth year, for me that was 2001, then I wrote down all the possibilities and had chats with strangers online to see which name fitted best. What I am trying to say is that for me, it wasn't an quick or an easy decision to make. But, when I knew what name I liked and fitted it fell into my hands. I am sure that you will figure your name out soon. But for some suggestions, Charlie, Kai/Ky, Steph(an/anie), River, Alex, Bay, Brighton, Brooklyn, Ezra, Finn, Florian, Gray, Indigo, Jack/Jackie, Wynn and Ty/Tyler.
