So, it’s me, a closeted queer person living in a country where it’s a crime to be one.
I watched a podcast earlier about a coming out story, and when her mom said, “I wish you weren’t the first one,” it really hit me.
I find it even harder in my situation because I assume that maybe I’m not the first one, but the only one.
And then I keep thinking and thinking about it, which makes me even more scared and isolated.

@SharouThe2end I'm so sorry about this. I know you must feel very lonely, but queer people are everywhere, you are not alone. Of course it's hard to feel like part of a community when the community has no public spaces or representation. The repression is pushing the queer community in your country to hide, so you might feel like the only one, but there are surely lots of people like you out there who are trying to protect themselves.
Finding each other might not be easy, but the internet offers more possibilities than there once were. If you still can connect with other queer people, you might consider sharing your identity with loved and trusted people in your love, so you'll have a safe space to express yourself.
Remember that your safety is important, but so is your freedom to be who you are. Also remember that it might not be like this forever: queer liberation is a process that looked different in every country, but there was always a point when people didn't think it was possible, until it happened. There's hope for queer people in your country too.

Sorry to hear what you’re going through. As a previous poster has said, hopefully it won’t be like this forever for you. In the meantime, I hope you find good support in these responses.
