Questioning
I’m really struggling lately with my sexual orientation. Being in a heterosexual marriage while also feeling a strong and consistent homosexual pull within me, is unsettling. I love my wife and want our relationship to be strong. I also can’t deny the deep feelings I have within me that I don’t identify with the role of “straight” man. I don’t know what it all looks like moving forward, so this is really just me ranting my thoughts out loud. Thanks for reading!

I can only imagine how difficult this must be for you.
Feeling a certain way and the confusion that comes with it.
It can be hard trying to navigate things.
But I would encourage you, no matter what, not to rush into anything and to give yourself the space to process things 💚

@Amanda84 Thank you for your kind words! Definitely taking time. And it’s been so helpful even just talking it out with people and sharing in a safe space.

A pleasure 💚
@Amanda84 have you been in a similar situation, or have you always been pretty sure of your sexuality? Ignore me if that’s too personal. Love and respect 💜

I'm happy to answer. No, I've always been sure, but I think it can be generational too, young people can at times have more space to explore and discover who they are 💚
@Amanda84 that’s so great! And I’d say you’re right about young people be able to explore more. I’m 35, but when I was younger, my environment and upbringing definitely didn’t encourage that. Thank you for sharing.

@Aayla this is such an incredibly thoughtful response! And you’re so right in so many ways. I really appreciate your understanding of the situation, but also reminding me that my life affects others. Like all of us who deeply engage with others, our actions and who we are will always affect others. While we can’t control how people react and interact with us, we can at least empathize and give them space to be themselves while we also honor ourselves.

Hun, this is a tough sitch to be in, and I feel for you! I think you're doing the right thing just processing it for now. Sexuality is fluid, and although we have labels to describe our sexuality, it is personal to you! Figuring out what your sexuality looks like to you is important.
In reading this, there was part of me that thought that communication is key in these situations, especially with your partner. However, the revelations you come to will likely change the relationship you two have, for better or less. Take your time figuring this stuff out!
