Should I Come Out To My Mom?
I recently thought about this while thinking of all the controversy I was in (and honestly still am in) and was thinking of telling my mom I want to go to therapy for it but that would also mean her possibly finding out I’m bi and a Demi girl, my dad (who she is not with anymore) doesn’t see, accepting of LGBTQ+ people but my mom does have some friends who are part of it, I m unsure of telling her about either of these but honestly I don’t know if I can hold all this inside me much longer, I don’t wanna deny who I am anymore but I’m just so scared she’ll hate me or hurt me, I just want to know what I should do?

Hi,
You are facing one of the biggest questions that an LGBTQ+ person could have.
Maybe bring up something related to being lgbtq+ and see how your mom reacts. It doesn't have to be about you when you bring up a topic. If she seems accepting try asking how she would feel if she had a kid in the community. Or something similar. If she responds postive to that maybe you can try coming out to her.
Hope thus helps.
@BigSadGirl hi! I'm sorry you're going through such a hard time, it sure is a big decision. However, there seems to be no reason for you to fear she won't accept you, since she already has lgbt friends. But if you want to be more sure, you can talk about something related to lgbt community, or make up a story about a friend of yours that has recently come out, just to see how she reacts. If she seems to be non judgemental, you can go for it!
I know it's still hard, because there's so much intolerance around us that it's normal to be afraid of not being accepted, even by the ones we love. But if you tell her about it, you can be supported as you need and deserve. I think it's worth trying, but the choice is up to you! Best wishes!
