How can I tell if someone is hitting on me?!

I have been told hundreds of times that I don't notice when someone is hitting on me or attracted to me. However, no one ever tells me what I should look for!!

I don't know if I am interested in dating, but I certainly hate the idea of missing important cues. Help please?!

P.S. I am a lesbian, BUT maybe this post could be helpful for someone like me (plz tell me I'm not the only one lol). Please specify what gender/sexuality you might get the signal from.

Thank you!!

@CureKey

This is very poetic. I don't get it, but it's beautiful 😋

I'm kinda the opposite. I notice it but I run away immediately and try to avoid them. Especially if they're interesting to me, I get overwhelmed.

It can be hard because everyone acts a little different and if they're trying to test the waters or be low-key it can be hard to tell the difference between being interested and trying to flirt or hit on you. Usually if someone goes out of their way to talk to me and asks a lot of questions, or teases that's a way to tell, or overly compliments me. If they stare a lot and quickly look away once you notice. Also being nervous around you can all be signs though sometimes people are just legitimately shy and trying to be nice so the only real to know is interact with them more. But idk, I've never dated someone and I'm not happy with the person I am right now so I wouldn't really want to yet but maybe one day.

I don't really know about the differences in gender when it comes to attraction. I know it can be more obvious with a guy at least to me. Like I've noticed guys might act a little more nervous and give really suggestive looks but that's just in my experience. I feel like both genders kinda act similar and it's more about the individual but that's just my experience

These are all fair points! If someone is interested in you, even in a platonic way, they're going to want to find ways to be around you more.

Thank you for sharing 😊

I hope you become more comfortable with who you are. That takes time though, and I wish you the best of luck, friend 🤟
