I'm so tired of romance

For context, I'm a younger teenager. I've pretty much only felt real, strong romantic attraction once, and it was for two days.

Recently, I've been getting super annoyed at the mention of romance. I read a romance book, and the entire time, I was thinking, Why do you even care? You could be spending time with your friends. My friend ("S") was talking about a crush she had to another one of my friends ("A") today, and the way that A gave S their full attention and made an intrigued face like it was the most important thing in the world just really p'd me off. I used to care about and like the idea of romance, but now it seems annoying, impure, and not worthwhile. I'd rather just have friendships. I have some insecurities, because I'm worried I'll be close to aromantic and I don't want to be, but romance just seems like a very unnecessary, annoying thing to me right now. I don't understand why everyone else my age is so focused on it.

@courageousPeach3843 it's totally ok to feel this way, it actually shows you have a pretty clear idea of what you want and what matters to you, and you're not letting other people influence your views island priorities. And that's great!
I get it can be frustrating, because it feels like you see the world differently from others. But you're not the only one, even if some people are not always so open about it, because they think they might be judged or that it's weird. But it's really not. You know what you want, and that's good for you.

Another good thing is you don't necessarily have to label how you feel. Whether or not you fit the definition of aromantic should be no one's business but yours, and if you don't feel like labelling yourself that way, it's ok. Or you might want to call yourself that at some point, who knows? Anything can happen at any time. If you just do what feels right to you and live life in a way that's fulfilling for you, that is really all that matters.
