if you are ok with it do it ..... think of it like a blind date.... sometimes just doing something way out of the ordinary opens our world up.
Make sure that your escort is doing this for themselves and not just for someone else. Make sure both of you are using protection even if that means asking uncomfortable questions.

Hire someone to go to places with you is fine...
There are many IMO that like events or to try events and their group has no interest i have asked neighbors/ co-workers etc to go places that my circle had no interest .... once was just talking about it at work and had a person i did not even know their name say he wanted to see an exhibt too but no one to go with i have met many a friend doing that ........
