New guys dealing with after effects of porn

I started watching porn by being nosy and also looking for ways to find a solution to my problem with genitals and I found out about the prostate and prostate massages. That's what got me being nosy now I don't watch porn but the memories of it come back and I still get aroused thinking about it. Am I just weird and can I say I really like this stuff or am I just wired from porn. These thoughts cause me a lot of stress cuz I feel ashamed of myself.

@indigoBanana3891 You're not weird, and you're not alone in feeling this way. Many people discover certain things whether it's through curiosity, exploration, or even by accident that leave a lasting impression, especially when tied to strong physical or emotional reactions. It’s also common for our brains to hold onto those experiences, particularly when they're linked to arousal or novelty, which is why those memories can resurface. Feeling shame about it can make things harder, but it doesn't mean there's something wrong with you. You're processing a mix of natural curiosity, bodily awareness, and emotional reaction none of which makes you bad or broken. What you're feeling is human.

Shame over bodily functions is common, but the question is, is it helpful?

Did you chose where those nerve endings are? Almost certainly not. So you might like to think about where that shame over their location comes from. Why should you feel guilty over something you had no control over?

What you maybe do have control over, is whether you chose to indulge the desires surrounding the feelings.

I find it helpful to separate feelings (which we have no control over, so should have no shame attached), and actions that occur as a result of those feelings (which we do have control over)

Are you weird for having bodily functions? Hopefully you can answer that yourself. Are you weird because you are aware of something about your body that some people never discover? I see awareness as an opportunity, not weirdness. Are you weird for liking porn? I think that is really quite normal. Are you weird for seeking pleasure or stimulation? Again, I think that is quite human. What is it exactly that you think you are weird for? Cos I'm not seeing it.

Porn is appealing because it fills a gap. But ultimately it is unsatisfying because it rarely meets the root need. Figure out what is your underlying need and focus on meeting that, and you'll likely find that more of these thoughts leave you alone.
