Last Daily Check-In for December 29th to December 31st , 2025

I would like to wish everyone a Happy New Year. I can’t believe we have already finished the year 2025. I wish 2026 to be a healthier and stress-free year for all of you.

Definition of Self-Kindness: treating yourself with compassion, warmth, and understanding.

There is a technique called RAIN ( recognize, allow, investigate, and nurture, which helps you through difficult emotions with compassion. ( We will go further in depth later in the post.) It is an easy tool to remember and can be used when practicing mindfulness. You can do this in a standalone exercise or move through the steps in moderation. It is all up to you.

Explanation of RAIN:

Recognizing: know what is happening around you. Recognizing is being in the present, knowing what is going on around you. The first step out of the fog in your mind is to recognize you are stuck and how to remove that feeling for you. When you feel stuck, you feel uneasiness, physical feelings in your body, and emotions.

Allow: This is when you allow your thoughts, emotions, and feelings to be recognized.  It shows you what is upsetting or hurting you in a clearer picture.  You want to fix the problem and have a calm sense of mind.

Investigate: Once you are aware of what is bothering you, you can now investigate without being judgmental of yourself or others, and learn how to fix the problem. Some examples are: why am I feeling lost and confused? What areas need the most attention to feel better about yourself?

Nuture: this is where you turn to self-compassion. You can sense how you're feeling, know that it can be worked out, and come up with a solution to what is upsetting you. Some examples are: It is okay to be wrong. It is okay to make mistakes as long as you learn from them. I am a lovable person to myself and to others.

Once you have mastered this, you have completed the steps to RAIN. You no longer have to feel like a prisoner in your mind. You can go out and be yourself.

@pamharley003

Thank you for this post pam! To me Rain is a very helpful technique. Asking yourself "why am I feeling lost and confused?" can help to get to the bottom of what's going on deep inside.
