How doubt creeps into your mind
Daily Check-In: January 5th to January 7th 2026
Doubts can creep into your mind due to a fear of failure and the unknown, making it challenging to understand your feelings. This confusion often stems from past trauma, low self-esteem, negative feedback, and procrastination, as well as the "what if" thoughts.
Doubts frequently emerge before important events, such as giving a presentation at work, trying a new recipe, or starting a new school or job. It’s essential to find the strength to overcome these feelings so you can move forward and succeed in whatever you choose to pursue.
Doubts are a form of fear that everyone experiences. Often, you envision the worst-case scenario instead of focusing on positive outcomes. For example, you might think, “What if I don’t do well on my presentation?” or “What if I fail my test, even though I studied for it?”
4 ways to overcome doubt:
Observe without judgment:
When your mind is racing and the voices in your head won't quiet down, one important step is to stop and find stillness. Take a moment to observe what these voices are saying without accepting their claims as truth. Stay curious, but proceed with caution. For example, try to imagine yourself as a fly on the wall, observing your body language and the messages from these voices, while making an effort to overpower the negative thoughts.
Question is validity:
Pay attention to your body language and your thoughts. While sitting down, consider writing everything out for a clearer picture of areas that need improvement.
Flip the script:
Listen to what the words of doubt are saying. Once you realize they are wrong, it becomes easier to change those words. If self-doubt comes into your head, welcome it,smile, and treat it like a friend.
Embrace "and" thinking:
When you feel like you're spiraling down a tunnel of darkness, start to find ways to make that self-doubt leave your mind. You want to train your mind for the possibilities rather than doubts. You can begin to say "what if I do it this way" "what is I did not have these feelings", come with the ways to turn around your doubts to a clearer way of thinking.

This is a great read! Being able to acknowledge thoughts and feelings without letting them immediately become truth is a powerful skill.

I did by writing to someone who might care or is involved somehow that I'm ascared but that I intend to do that thing I'm out to do. Doesn't always work but it helps.
