Hello beautiful people in the mindfulness community 💙

It is good to remind ourselves of  things we are doing better now than we did in the past. I invite you to fill in the blanks below:

In the past, how have you responded when ___? How do you respond now?

@amiablePeace77 In the past, how have you responded when ___? How do you respond now?

When the other person is not acting reasonably and is going against what I think is the right course, I used to react with anger and frustration.

Now I am creating a space in my mind by mindfully watching my thoughts and when they start to get agitated, stop and investigate and then turn away from them and not let them hijack my experience.

@amiablePeace77 in the past when I didn't understand things I'd react kinda scared, go into my own shell, feel stupid.

but now I ask questions try to figure things out for myself. It takes a while sometimes, but I'm getting there. ❤

In the past I would have a breakdown finding out a friendship is ending, but now I am trying to see my friendships as something that naturally shift over time instead of a reflection on my worth.

@ETfonehome

I'm so glad to hear that you do not take things too personal!

hii wonderful ami . you can’t imagine how much i appreciate you all ❤️

in the past i would start explaining and tryin my to change the mind of the one that would start to judge me ? or questioning my values.

now i would react differently. i would show them less attention and start to think maybe they have some problems with themselves instead

@MiniMenet7 another way is to just keep listening to them trying to see their point of view. I have heard that called emptying the bucket.

@amiablePeace77 In the past, how have you responded when things go south? How do you respond now? I have recently learned to stop and think about my responses lately, I used to respond to negativity with more negativity, or anger. Now I think of how I should respond, is this affecting me as badly as I think, do I need to respond in anger or can this be dismissed or be responded to in a gentler way. I have really been trying to respond in a way of seeing the other side of things, the other persons perspective.
