negative talk and mindfulness

Happy belated 4th of July to those who celebrated it hope it was safe and fun. I stayed home to drug our fur baby with benedrlyl she does not like loud noises
This week's post from me is about our negative talking to ourselves and how mindfulness can help us.
Negative self- talk is when we say in our mind " I am no good to anyone" "I hate myself for ... " We begin to recognize these thoughts without judgement and redirect them to positive thoughts. There are some key players to this negative talk:
emotional triggers - by practicing mindfulness we can redirect these triggers and work on turning them around.
distorted thinking process - this is when we think something is worse than it really is. We learn to recognize them and work on this to calm us down
there are 5 steps in recognizing negative thoughts:
detective mode- We look at the spiraling thoughts and work on them.
control mechanism - When we see these thoughts we turn it around and use mindfulness in helping us out of that spiraling.
cloud watching- picture your thoughts as those fluffy clouds in the sky. practice these clouds are there passing by us hoping to not return.
practice makes perfect - begin to practice these negative things and use a tool ( copings skills etc ) such as mindfulness to help us through this.
thoughts to answer:
How do you try not to think negatively ?
what are some ways you practice mindfulness or other ways to turn a negative into a positive ?
here are an understanding of the different patterns

Such an insightful post.
Sometimes, it helps me to detach from how I'm feeling, what I'm thinking and taking note of the situation in a third person view, it allows me to validate my emotions better as I tend to be harsher on myself than I'm with others. Allowing this little space to validate and be compassionate is helpful in recognizing how the "negative" thoughts and difficult emotions are a consequence of X event, and that it's okay to feel/ think in a situation as that.
So, in simple terms, to not avoid or suppress them, but to remind self that at this point in time, it's okay to feel/ think a certain way, as any other hooman in my place might as well.
What helps you track and manage the negative self-talk?
How do you try not to think negatively ?
I try to distract when I get overwhelmed with negative thoughts. I try to be aware of the basics which affect the nature of my thoughts, like hydration, food, medication, sleep, stress, pain, temperature - to see if I'm missing anything and am basically fighting my biology. Take care of that first, if possible.
what are some ways you practice mindfulness or other ways to turn a negative into a positive?
I try to be aware that I'm thinking, and the quality of those thoughts.
I'll be honest though. It's hard to mindfulness away the lack of access to basic necessities and safety in my life, or my disabilities making it impossible to work to have a decent quality of life and be able to participate in life and have long term goals to work towards, other than survival. I see evidence of everything getting worse around me. I understand the processes which led to this and see people lying about these processes, in order to spread hate and direct blame and retribution towards innocent, powerless, vulnerable people. I see the extreme weather events disrupting supply chains and food and water supplies in the near future. I see the rise in rhetoric of needing to only allow a small group of people access to what remains, in tandem. Only a small number of people are being counted as meaningfully human.
Do I pretend these things don't exist? Do I push them from my mind when it's all around me, threatening my life? How do I mindfully ignore reality and remain a reasonable human being?
I wish reality were tolerable, so that I didn't need to spend my waking life coping and pretending like it isn't.
