Coming back to what grounds you
Daily Check-In August 25th to August 27th 2025
Grounding can mean nurturing bonds with family, friends, or partners. It is also the gentle art of bringing ourselves back to the present, tuning in to our feelings, and rediscovering our sense of self.
Some days feel overwhelming. We rush to get the kids ready, hurry to work, or try to finish projects for our jobs or ourselves. When we are in a hurry, our hearts race, our hands might shake, and we start to sweat. When you need to do things in a calm manner and not feel rushed, things go smoothly.
When we have a healthy relationship with our bodies and experience grounding, we can see our lives as being centered and calm. Grounding techniques can help reduce stress, stay focused on the present, and experience a sense of stability.
Our physical, mental, and spiritual grounding techniques connect us with our bodies. We want to redirect ourselves away from negative thoughts and distressed feelings and connect with nature. Grounding can be helpful to those who suffer from anxiety, trauma, PTSD, and other mental health concerns.
Grounding is a powerful tool we use at times. Grounding is the opposite of stress. It is when we are calm and focused on our everyday life. Grounding helps us understand how we free our emotions while we are freeing our emotional resilience and regulation.
Common examples of being emotionally ungrounded:
Emotional overwhelming feelings or thoughts
Chronic stress
You have the feeling you are drowning.
Excessive fear and worrying
Hypervigilance
Grounding our energy can be good for our mental health and well-being. This is where we also use our coping skills. Healing ourselves is getting to the root of our emotions. We begin seeing what's coming to them.
Coping skills are meditation, mindfulness, breathing calmly, and taking walks. Something that we can do to relax ourselves.
How do you feel when you ground yourself after a problem?
What are examples of coping skills that work for you?

Feeling grounded for me means being calm.
Not overthinking.
Nit afraid to be in the silence.
Less hectic.
Less chaotic.
Rest works for me.
Music.
A bubble bath.
Watching a good movie.
Just unwinding.
No deadlines.
No pressure .
💕💜
I feel much relaxed and calm.
Taking a walk, breathing exercises and journaling.
Being grounded means I'm more present in the day.
