Positive People
Hi everyone, I hope you all had a good weekend 
We all know that surrounding yourself with positive people plays an important role in how we can grow. Unfortunately there are times we simply have to put up with some fellow beings we are not feeling that well with. Sometimes it helps to vent about our situation to friends or family members, but this can turn into yet another rehashing of negative thoughts. Being in the presence of people we care about and with whom we feel cared about makes us happier. Laughing over something completely unrelated to your stress and being reminded of the people in your life who appreciate you tends to put it all in perspective.
Are there people in your life you have to put up with (without going into detail) and how do you manage?

Hello! Nice question .. what is complicated in my situation is that there is nobody positive around me. I live with family member who gaslight me everyday and treat me badly. I have no friends because of personal choice and circumstances and yeah it's very lonely, I feel pretty bad all the time because my real friends are online in country so far away from me

) I am so sorry that your family member does that to you. hugs. It is very understandable of you feeling lonely with no real family or friends to chat or get to know. I am happy that you came to this discussion and shared this with us. Please on 7cups there are so many wonderful people you can relate to and connect and form some sort of healthy friendship. So please keep sharing and connecting. We even though are online people- we are here for you!
The one person that I feel I have to (and my whole family) put up with is my sister. I did not grow up in a home where everyone was super tight, especially having 4 siblings, we kind of all drifted apart in our late teens and early 20’s. Now, we are working on trying to connect, however one of my sisters has been the bully in the family ever since I can remember. So getting board is not easy peasy. Whatever dysfunction she faces, she never takes accountability, instead everyone gets blamed for what is going on in her life internally. We have all said if this was someone else we would of cut them off because of the negativity, but because she is our sister and blood we are trying our best to tolerate it. Unfortunately, I do not have a circle of friends. After 2020 there was a lot of people I needed to let go of because of either feeling inferior towards them, or just settling for friendships because I always been a loner. I hope to one day be apart of a group of friends that are positive, supportive, and non-judgemental.

I can only imagine how much patience it needed at times to get along with her when growing up. It's generous of you trying to put up with it but I hope you set the necessary boundaries to protect you.
You are very welcome in our family and I hope you feel supported here but also that soon you will meet a like minded group in real life (when things with the virus are getting better) with whom you can enjoy yourself too.

Yes, of course. I see them as just being themselves; doing what they always do. No surprise there. Live and let live. This is how they are going to be!

Yes, I enjoy surrounding myself with people like me. If they're not, I don't consider them inside my circle of friends.
