What is it?
I think I have mindfulness and meditation either confused with each other? Or have put them with the same definition…
can someone clarify please 🤪
examples work great for my learning. thanks 😊

Hmm in simple way, Mindfulness is about focusing on the present moment, like fully experiencing your morning coffee. Meditation is a practice, often involving techniques like focused breathing, to cultivate mindfulness.Okay, here's an example:
Imagine you're eating a piece of chocolate 🍫 . Mindfulness is being completely aware of its texture, smell, taste, and the moment it melts in your mouth, without any distraction or judgment.
While Meditation is sitting down daily for ten minutes and focusing on your breath to train your mind to stay in that state of present moment awareness.
@Tulipsmile
so essentially, you do need one to have the other or at least it’s helpful?
Thanks for the clarification and the example . Yummy example lol

For me I consider it as something that complete the other tbh.
I find it useful especially when I want to relax with my cup of ice coffee ☕
My pleasure 😅😉🙏💙

I took was confused about the two methods but then read that following book.
Mindfulness for Beginners By John Kabat-Zinn
@peachThinker662
The first edition of the book contains a CD with 5 Mindfulness Meditations to follow

Mindfulness: In the moment
Meditation: Pause.
Meditation is a moment for you to pause, breathe, clear your mind, and calm your soul.
Mindfulness is being present in the moment. It brings you back to where you are if you are stuck in thoughts of the past or the future. I have a trick I use: I close my eyes, put my hands on my knees, and ask myself, "Where are my hands?" It instantly puts my mind in the present moment. I am not in the past. I am not in the future. I am HERE, and this is what I have to work with RIGHT NOW.
Then there is "mindfulness meditation". Google says it is a practice of focused awareness on the present moment, cultivating a non-judgmental observation of thoughts, feelings and sensations. I call this "letting the feelings flow in and out".
I hope this makes sense!
