Happy New Year laugh

surpriseGuess what? You know I was reading, "Habits shape our lives." And, these habits play a critical role in living a mindful life. Did you know?

So, I was thinking and realized, "Yes, thats true. When you doing an activitiy quite often, it becomes part of daily routine and eveolve as habit. Even as per research, it proved that within 21 days we can form a new habit.

Some habits bring goodness to our lives, like doing workouts, keeping things organised, writing and so on. Similarly bad habits bring clutter to the life.

Like, I have habit to check my emails on phone after waking up. For some reasons, it is good for me. but, I am looking forward to change it. And, use those minutes in bed to read something.

So, I was wondering,

(I) What One Bad Habit You'd Like To Rid Of This Year?

(II) How having this habit impacting your life?

(III) What plans or strategies you going to try to get rid of it?

Interesting question actually, since I've been focussing on the good habbits I wanted to have instead. I keep track of them in my bullet journal habbit tracker. But of course, I can also keep track how many times I didn't do something. Good one!

Uhm... I'm actually working on a good evening ritual, so I can sleep better. I incorporated my bullet journal into it, planning an hour before bed so I won't have to be stressed out when trying to sleep, I do some stretching before bed, so my muscles are all relaxed, and I meditate for 5 minutes. But what I don't like is that I'm still on my phone before those 5 minutes of meditation. I think I want to put it away as soon as I start on my bullet journal, so an hour before bed.

I've read somewhere that the light of your phone, just like that of your computer and television, causes your brain to actually think it's morning, because it's the same kind of light the sun emits in the morning. So it produces hormones to keep you awake. I'll probably sleep better without constantly staring at that light

How to accomplish that won't be too hard, I just turn it off. My phone takes ages to turn on, so I won't be tempted to wait on that cheeky

Thank you for coming up with this idea and helping me remember that good habbits aren't only to be formed, but that you can also break bad habbits to become healthier laugh

Answering the questions:

1) Isolating myself when bad things happen. I usually rage and not to damage people I isolate myself. That isn't good :|

2) Bad because it isn't a productive way to deal with things.

3) Well I'm about to get a therapist soon , mostly for my panick attacks but since this rage also affects it, I'll have to deal with it.

I hope everyone can get rid of bad habbits and find coping mechanisms to find happiness :)

(I) What One Bad Habit You'd Like To Rid Of This Year?

Isolating myself by sitting in my room, at my computer, without going outside for days and weeks.

(II) How having this habit impacting your life?

It keeps me from interacting with people outside my home, and without the ability to change my surroundings. I can say that it deprives me of freedom.

(III) What plans or strategies you going to try to get rid of it?

I'm going to follow the steps from one online course, by getting out for short walks, I will be looking up the events that are happening around the town, and try to attend some... But first, I think, I need to start visiting regularly my two cousins. I don't have anyone else in the place I live in, and that has been the case from when I moved into it, 10 years ago.

@PurpleNina

Nina, i think this is a wonderful idea, looking up events of what is happening around you so that you can connect to others and also change scenery.

Great to see you all in today's checkin.

It is good to be mindful about our habits and knowing what we want to get rid of. When we know about our bad habits, it allows us to find ways to stop and overcome them.

I appreciate you for recognizing the habit you want to get rid of as well as the strategy to overcome them. Lovely job!

Best wishes and hope that we could get successful in our efforts to overcome those habits and have a better mindful life.

Keep up the good work.
