HI everyone Rumple here-and I just got me a pumpkinsurpriseDon't know why, just thought I needed one. Then yes I sat in my car with this pumpkin on my seat next to me-and started to be mindful of the different things I can do with this one pumpkin. So I wanted to bring you all into my mindful thoughts- come on don't be scurrrrred................cheeky

Wow like there is so much to do with 1 single pumpkin-right! I really was thinking deeply on making pumpkin bread, or pumpkin cookies....

But then I was being mindful of my kiddos-yes the kiddos

Did you ever just get a pumpkin and set it on the table and think"wow what am I going to do?" The thoughts are coming so fast right? But good ones, good ideas. They all sound so good and you see yourself doing each one. Feeling all these exciting feelings and anticipating what it will look like when you finish. Also I bet what others will think-am I right?

Well today yes this morning I sat with my beautiful not so round orange cold pumpkin and was mindful of my whole family and doing something together that we just laugh and have a good time. So guess what we are going to do with this 1 not so round orange cold pumpkin?

Yes I am going to let one of the kids cut it open and we are just going to be mindful of "HOW" the pumpkin feels. No No it's not silly honest-lol I do know there are many here who deal with some sorts of sensory issues. Or some who never really was mindful of what a pumpkin feels like except touching the outside. As we all know this is cold, rough sometimes smooth, bumpy and well a weird touch right?

I have a child who deals with Autism and some sensory issues at times. So I know this little activity will be fun for her. Have you ever just put your hands inside that pumpkin and "felt" the insides? Have you really felt how the seeds feel and all that goooo?

Simple things like this is being mindful and connected to somethig on the outside of you and also connecting it to the inside of you. I know this might sound weird, but honestly it really is fun to do.

Please share something here-anything on things you do every year with a pumpkin. How are you being mindful?

@RumpleSteeleSkin I don't buy any pumpkins during from store but I observe them and touch them.

1. At Trader Joe's they have these miniature pumpkins on a vine which are bright orange and they aren't quite ripe and I notice the grooves them and wonder what one can do. For me my senses are keeping an eye on them

2. I sometimes grind up pumpkin in a can and make pumpkin pie

3. In November DQ has a pumpkin pie flavored blizzard with all the seasonings and whipped cream which I love to buy

I have thought about getting a smaller pumpkin and making my own soup based on a squash recipe that I love while roasting the seeds.

Hi Summer!smileyahhh yes just to be mindful of them by looking, observing and touching them sure is 100% mindfulyes You know I do wonder how that vine can hold that weight-you know lol. The canning the pumpkin really is a good way of being totally recourseful of that 1 pumpkin I say! mmmm on that ice cream-please be mindful and grab me oneheartHa those home made soups are wonderful to make and also mindfulness comes in from the textures, the smells and also preparing it as well.

Every year my husband and I like to carve a pumpkin together. It's become a tradition. I guess it helps me to be mindful of the time we spend together and how I feel about him.

I have a nice big pumpkin downstairs right now on the dining room table. I think we will be carving it next weekend. I am looking forward to this. I don't no if we will try to do a special design this year but I kind of like the classic jack o lantern look. We we also try to get a nice picture of it with a cat. Last year we managed to get our black cat to sit next to it, picture was real Halloweeny.
