HELLO LOVELY MINDFULNESS COMMUNITY laugh

How was your week, was there something in particular nice or something which you felt hard to deal with?

Having coping skills to deal with difficult moments or times is essential. Everybody will have to choose what is best for them at the end, it helps though trying different skills out to find the right ones. Today I like to focus on meditation and ask you:

enlightened1. What type of meditation you have tried so far?

enlightened2. Which one helped you best and why?

enlightened 3. Can you name a meditation and briefly describe it?

enlightened1. What type of meditation you have tried so far? I have tried many but the common root of all of them is mindfulness and a finding of the quiet place within.

enlightened2. Which one helped you best and why? I think the best ones are the ones that are easy for me to practice regularly.

enlightened 3. Can you name a meditation and briefly describe it? My favorite one is just stopping and focusing my awareness on my deep belly breath. And then slowly let it out.

Repeat as necessary (lol)

enlightened1. What type of meditation you have tried so far?

I mostly do body scans but I recently did affectionste breathing.

enlightened2. Which one helped you best and why?

Body scans work the best for me. They help me relax and get ready to fall asleep.

enlightened 3. Can you name a meditation and briefly describe it?

With body scans, I just focus on one particular body part and focus on releasing the tension.

@PurpleSnail

Body scans are great to check for any tension and release them.

Thanks for mentioning affectionate breathing, actually I did not know the term and checked it. It's a nice way to show yourself compassion by connecting feelings of affection and kindness with mindful breathing.

Ive tried a few types of mediation, Ive done some guided ones on ‘headspace and such

I find that to me, guided meditations can be a little forced, I prefer to meditate by listening to music, giving myself calming breathing exercises and taking a walk in nature

@slytherinstarling123

I find that headspace has great meditations but the best thing (to me) is just to try out different styles.

With meditation it's important to find out what we really like, what suits us so that it can help, music, nature, breathing are great ways to relax for me personally too.

@amiablePeace77 thanks for this great check-in. This week been challenging at work more so emotionally I guess. Seeing my client decline and have issues feeding himself and walking is sad. I had to visualize how he was before he gotten sick. The things he loved to do. Hiking, mountain climbing, swimming and biking. So allowing my thoughts to go there was a good feeling.

@RumpleSteeleSkin

Rumple, your job involves lot of emotional challenges, it's hard to see someone declining. I admire your strength of being able to do so and still seeing that once there was a good side as well, even if it's just a grateful imagination.
