Mindfulness Daily Check-In January 28, 2018
Hello, everyone!
Id like to keep todays check-in short and sweet. I thought we might take some time to set some mindfulness goals for this new week. So, if you feel comfortable sharing, what is your mindfulness goal(s) for this coming week?
Examples:
1. Are you going to practice for a certain amount of time each day?
2. Are you going to listen to a guided meditation each day?
3. Is there a mindfulness skill (acceptance, letting go, beginners mind, gratitude, non-striving, or non-judgment) that you want to improve or implement into your practice?
4. Are you going to give yourself space to observe your emotions, feelings, and thoughts without reacting on them and becoming caught up in their narratives?
5. Are you going to be patient with yourself as you practice, realizing that its okay if your mind wanders or loses focus?

I want to practice for at least 10 minutes every day. I listen to guided meditations on headspace. I want to develop awareness of when a sense of discomfort first starts to creep in rather than letting it grow unnoticed.
@peacefulBird32 sounds like a great goal!
1. Are you going to practice for a certain amount of time each day?
I'm going to try to do that. I really want to do some meditative breathing every day before going to bed so I'll sleep better. This is my last week off from college though, so my schedule is still a little... unscheduled. I hope I can do more of the things I want to do each day the moment I start school again and I have more structure to my days.
2. Are you going to listen to a guided meditation each day?
I actually do guided meditation every other day, and I'm fine with that amount
3. Is there a mindfulness skill (acceptance, letting go, beginners mind, gratitude, non-striving, or non-judgment) that you want to improve or implement into your practice?
I really struggle with the non-judgement part of meditating, so I am going to try and improve that this week. I found some guided meditations that take non-judgement into account as well, so I think I'm going to try those this week.
4. Are you going to give yourself space to observe your emotions, feelings, and thoughts without reacting on them and becoming caught up in their narratives?
I'll most definitely try, even though I know this is still hard for me
. But that's alright because I'm not judging myself on finding certain aspects harder than others.
5. Are you going to be patient with yourself as you practice, realizing that its okay if your mind wanders or loses focus?
Losing focus or letting your mind wander is okay and even happens to the most skilled of yoga instructors. The trick is to catch yourself when you do, and focus on your breathing again.
Thanks for the post, I like having these goals for this week. It might help me mentally prepare for going back to uni soon
@EmunahHere like keeping it short and simple! I will continue with doing mindfulness in morning on rising and before going to sleep.
Whenever I find myself getting lost I try to focus on breath or on my surroundings.
I am moving slowly but will practice my Mindfulness
@scarletPear1945 way to go.
Just observing myself without judgement I think.
1. i am trying to bring me back into the now more and more, particularly when sitting somewhere having breakfast or lunch. Focus is on being mindful with eating this week (when i was working eating and working at the same time went hand in hand so well trained in that)
2. i will continue meditating 3 times a day
3. i started to increase self-care so that i can observe my body and surroundings better by putting myself in a better "observer position"
4. my mind often wanders when meditating, it is ok for me because i am aware of it and can bring it back, by practise i became patient
