MIND................................................FULL...................NESSsmiley

WOW- we broke that B-I-G word up some there surpriseA lot of you get scared of mindfulness and how it makes you feel. I don't want this to happen. I would like for each of you to have an experience with the after affect feeling of "I want to try more" So let's quickly break this downwink

Mind- the element of a person that enables them to be aware of the world and their experiences, to think, and to feel; the faculty of consciousness and thought.

Full- not lacking or omitting anything; complete

Ness- forming abstract nouns denoting quality and state

Mindfulness- the quality or state of being conscious or aware of something,a mental state achieved by focusing one's awareness on the present moment, while calmly acknowledging and accepting one's feelings, thoughts, and bodily sensations

Do you all see a pattern in this? I dosmiley

So, you ever wonder "why" you feel you can't focus on doing mindfulness? Or you feel weird doing it?

Mindfulness has us reaching within our inner self. Sometimes deep I saysurpriseNo Lie. I have personally been doing mindfulness for over 20 years, and still at times it hits my most deepest-inner-sensitive areas and wrecks havoc. BUT....... mindfulness doesn't hurt us, or make us see the bad in ourselves.or dread up those triggers within us. Mindfulness is a teaching tool that helps us deal with other things in life, reduces how we react to things, and helps us accept those crazy radical things in our lives.

Mindfulness is not all gloom and doom, nor is it all sunshine and flowers. With mindfulness, we are just a little less tossed around by running away from or crushing what feels bad. Were less compelled to indulge in our desires and excesses for what gives us a temporary high. Instead, we see with greater clarity just how blue the sky is on a beautiful day and we see and feel the depths of our hearts being pierced when weve experienced a meaningful loss. And somewhere in that fuller human experience, we connect and tap into a deeper source of motivation and choice that is more aligned with our integrity, our values and ethics, and our authentic essence.

Please everyone- answer whatever question or questions you feel comfortable answering.

What was the trigger when you had an I just cant help myself moment?

What body sensations did you experience?

What was the voice-track in your mind?

What was the underlying emotion you experienced?

What did you do? Mindfulness?

Rumple I don't really see the point in this what mindfulness has to offer as its not done any good for me .I've tried to sit in a relaxing way and breath and think deeply but it just don't work so what I am asking is what is your point? What is you want us to to get out of this? Cuz right now I'm stuck and none my emotions comes out when I'm relaxing.

@TreaureSeekers3

HI Treasure good to see you todaysmileyI really do understand how you are feeling on trying mindfulness and getting no where. I too-started from ground 1. "What is my point?" you ask. My point is, exactly what you did- share on how mindfulness is for you good or bad. We are here not to jam this on no one. But to hopefully make it easier to do and understand. That is itheart

I can not sit still for a few minutes and focus on my breathing, focus with my eyes cloed and try and get my short chubby legs to sit criss-cross. So many years ago I went to a Mindfulness Seminar. There I was floored! I didn't have to close my eyes. I didn't have to sit and focus on my breathing. I didn't even have to sit still and be practicing mindfulnesssmiley

I was taught for some, this creates more tension and anxieties with people trying to do mindfulness. So, I was told to go and do dishes, focus on the bubbles, the way the soap smelled, how the water was hot or getting cold as we enjoyed the bubbles to long, focus on the slime on the dishes. I could go for a walk and notice the smell of the air, the sun, or clouds or it being windy.

You can practice mindfulness in any way that you want. It is just teaching us to be in the moment, not past or worrying on tomorrow. The feelings that might not come during mindfulness or some just flow like crazy. Thing is, accept the ones that come out.

I hope this helps just a bit more for you. Also please ask whatever you need to. Take careheart

@RumpleSteeleSkin Hi Rumple! heart How are you doing today? I hope you are having a wonderful day and week so far! laugh Also, I love how you broke down mindfulness in your post!!!

What was the trigger when you had an I just cant help myself moment?
When I was under extreme, extreme stress, and had to succumbed to letting myself shop.

What body sensations did you experience?
I felt my hear racing. I was going deaf from all of the thoughts in my mind. I was breathiing quite quickly.

What was the voice-track in your mind?
Extremely negative, reflecting the voices I was hearing in reality quite recently.

What was the underlying emotion you experienced?
I felt extreme panic and anxiety.

What did you do? Mindfulness?
First, I let myself splurge. I had to give in, so I wouldn't have an anxiety attack followed by possible panic attacks. Then, I practed mindfulness. I wish I didn't splurge (and I didn't really, I just consider spending splurging if it's unnecessary for me), but this in combination with practicing mindfulness did help me regain my composure and help me avoid any anxiety attacks for that day.

Hi there Saima good to see yousmileyI'm glad to know this you found helpful. oh dear extreme stress can bring out many triggers for us. Im sorry you had to deal with one and feeling your heart race and how the noises made you deaf while you shopped. Extreme negativity is very hard to not believe and focus on while having triggers. But look at you-"practicing mindfulness did help me regain my composure and help me avoid any anxiety attacks for that day." You some how managed to cope with mindfulness. wootwoooot Im so so proud of you hugsheartheartheart

I feel more ready for dating again and welcome love from the outside in my life. I'm consciously loving myself and notice how well I take care of my mind and body But I notice I'm not getting my work done, which makes me feel bad. I'm late on my article writing and feel remorse, guilt, anger, frustration, tension, stress about it, which doesn't help me work/write or finish something that is already late and pissing off the client. I'm realizing, with mindfulness, that I'm turning to dating apps more and more to feel good whenever I start feeling bad or lonely. The voices in my head are saying that clients/income is temporary and unimportant, while finding a mate could be a source of emotional support for life, which is more important, so the time spent searching is worthwhile and potentially of much higher reward. All it takes is one person... to end the search. The voices urge me to continue on with the search, the hunt, playing the dating game, putting myself through the stress and rejection cycles on both sides, and stay positive and hopeful through it.

In my body I'm feeling tension, stress, and pain in my neck and back as I ignore more of my work, extreme libido, that I'm mindfully not acting on with many of the 20-somehting year-olds that proposition me on these apps (I'm 49), and I'm mindful that hormones are driving my feelings of sexual energy and arousal this week. Leading me to make choices from that deeper place, not to sleep around, stick to my plan of dating responsibly for the long term instead of short, and keep in mind the long term rewards rather than the short term now satisfying my sexual tensions that I'm releasing myself more often too.

I'm mindfully choosing to get through this week until my hormones change again. I'm meditating. But one meditation session this week led me to having a mutual breathing chat session with a 20-something year old which he interpreted sexually, taking the lead on the in-out narration and stomach rising/falling dance that never ends. Brought a new dimension to breathing which was fun but short term, and in the end doesn't serve me. I'm seeking more emotional support from here and friends. Even my business accountability partner hasn't been helpful for me to get my work done. I want and am ready for a huge change in my life, surroundings, company, livelihood. Mindfulness is helping me calm my mind.
