Hi beautiful mindfulness community. Its already Friday again and weekend is knocking at the door. Hope you all will enjoy some lovely moments this weekend.laugh

Lets talk for a moment about embarrassement blush

We all have been there, something embarrassing happens and we start to feel awkward, our mind starts to create negative stories, we start criticising and doubting ourselves - not everyone but often people do.

When embarrassing situations do happen, remind yourself that your feelings will pass, and you can handle them until they do.

So, if you feel comfortable with sharing let us know what helps you most to deal with an embarrassing situation?

@amiablePeace77 hey there!

So, if you feel comfortable with sharing let us know what helps you most to deal with an embarrassing situation?

when i am in an embarrassing situation, it helps me to laugh at myself or at the situation. For example when i said something in class and said it wrong i tend to laugh about my mistake.

But there are different situations that can be embarrassing. Standing around at a meeting/party and not knowing anyone or knowing what you could do: then i mostly always try to talk to new people and just try to not take it too seriously!

@AveryLove

Hey Avery, to me humour it maybe the best way to counteract embarrassement, it makes everyone laugh. Laughing about yourself in a nice way, not taking yourself too serious are good skills. Thanks for sharing.

@amiablePeace77 Hello all . To be honest I haven't encountered many embarassing situations in my life . One of the reasons of that could be that I haven't ventured much outside my comfort zone . Anyways , I believe every embarassing situation teaches us something . It is imp to learn from such situations and always look on the brighter side .

@calmsoulmeet

I like your thought about taking a challenge as teacher. Getting out of the safe area is definitevely scary but I hope you will step out of your comfort zone little by little so see what more is out for you there - there might be some wonderful surprises, who knows smiley

@amiablePeace77 wow Peace again you hit on the market of things in my life. Kids!! Kids do embarrass us at times. But through mindfulness I learned to not hold on to this feeling. It is not mine but theirs. Accountability on their part.

But.....there are times accedents silly ones happen and I do get embarrassed. I try to accept this and be mindful it was an accident and have a chuckle on it.

But I also know and fully understand some get embarrassed due to anothers hurtfulness. This is very hard to get over. But I want to share this....

"You are all human and unique. Not perfect by all means. But you try and try your best. You have feelings too. Chin up and be mindful of those true things about you"heart

Rumple, beautiful animation and answer.heart. Human is never perfect, embarrassement happens but we do not need to let it pull us down. As you said "Chin up and be mindful of those true things about you".

What a timely post!!

Don't know if it's my most embarassing moment, but just yesterday I mis-interperted something at work and a co-worker called me out in a very public way. I was so embarassed - and a bit angry. So...

I made my self take an observers view...what were my physical signs, what were those thoughts racing through my mind and why was i feeling that way. I managed to make it through the rest of the day - if not joyful, at least calmer.

@MissPen

Hello Pen thanks for sharingsmileyMisinterpreting something is normal sometimes I say. Sometimes you just don't hear exactly what their saying in the way they want you to. But to be called out like that in public is a no no on them. However- it was great how you reacted. You did not react to your anger but turned into yourself and observed somethings. Good job hun

Pen, I find when things go wrong it's okay to make people aware of it but it can be done in a mindful way. Misinterpretations happen, it's simply part of communication. We can only try to learn from them. Glad you managed to get through the day calmer.

Get away from it, distract myself, and if I'm lucky it won't take root in my memory.

Rain, making sure it does not become a permanent memory is a good way to go, it happened, done, try not to focus on it.yes

When I am in an embarrasing situation I usally laugh it out, if it is in that type of situation because laughter helps us to release emotions. If it is okay in the situation that I am in then I would do it right then, if not maybe later when I am out of that situation.
