Hiya wonderful community-great to see you all on thie sunny Wednesday morningsmileyToday I'd like to talk a bit on the importance of laughter-yes like ha-ha-ha--LMAO- HEEEEHAAAAAWcheeky We all know the world theres much to be taken seriously its important to remember to laugh. Not to make light of the severity of war, discrimination, terror threats, or climate change, mental health issues, physical pain and medical needs, loss of a loved on- but to maintain a perspective that there is still much to be thankful for and to celebrate in your life.

Laughter meditation is an effective and easy way to create this balance. There are so many factors on healing and laughter. You might be a little skeptical of its power to improve your mood and awaken your inner child. Before writing it off as an off-the-wall meditation practice, take a look at the benefits laughter meditation can bring to your life....

1. Laughter stops fears

2. Laughter relaxes us

3. Laughter comforts

4. laughter improves on the immune system

5. Laughter eases pain

7. Laughter is contagious

Whether youre looking for an escape from the somber state of the world, or just wanting to reengage a part of you thats been dormant, accessing joy, pleasure, and connection practice laughter meditation and embrace all it has to offer your mind, body, and spirit.

10-Minute Laughter Meditation

Laughter meditation is one of the easiest forms of meditation. Youll start by stretching your body, then youll practice laughing and end with silence. Follow these simple steps and reap the benefits of this healing practice:

1-2 minutes: Stand with your feet hip-width apart and stretch your arms high above your head. Rock your body side-to-side from your torso, then bend over and touch your hands to your feet. Next, massage your jaw and yawn at least two times to loosen your mouth and relax the muscles in your jaw.

3-5 minutes: Find a comfortable position to sit or stand. Start by slightly smiling and then begin laughing without too much effort. Move to deep belly laughs. (Hint: try different types of laughs to encourage your true laugh to come through. Even if it begins as a forced feeling, most people find the forced laughter catalyzes authentic laughter in no time.)

3-5 minutes: Sit or lie on the floor in stillness and silence. Be mindful of what comes up for you—how your body feels, emotions that present themselves, and thoughts that arise. (Optional: share what comes up with a trusted friend or write it down in a journal.)

No that we all did these wonderful laughs- please share on how things wentsmileyheart

@RumpleSteeleSkin

I loved that! I thought I my tummy or my jaw would ache after laughing for so long, but I felt really good afterwards.

I'm unsure how to describe it properly, but afterwards, when I was lying down, I felt calm and a little fuzzy in a good way. Like you just woke up, but you're not quite woken up. Like you're in between this place of sleep and wakefullness, but closer to being awake. That's the best I can describe it really.

Oh well, doesn't matter. I liked it, and I didn't even know sessions like this existed. Thanks for teaching me this heart

HI Jay good to see yousmileyIts good to laugh and feel it's goodness it gives us. Yes there maybe some fears but sometimes just following through with a good belly laugh is a good experience to have. I really liked how you shared how letting yourself laugh had you feeling afterwards. That calm and fuzzy feeling is a good thing I think. And yes it doesn't matter-just as long as you liked it. Keep doing this and the good feeling will over flow your whole body.heart
