Mindfulness Daily Check-In March 29

We tend to make mistakes in daily life. And, making a mistake hurts. You know it! We know it! I know it! That how it feels??
Most of us feel embarassed or ashamed of our mistakes. Generally, we tend to associate mistakes as negative outcomes and consider it as failure.
Actually we are afraid of failure. I guess that's how we evolved over the years. We are scared of failure that it led to be cognitively bias and filter out the negative outcomes and only focused on positive ones where we are getting appreciated and praised for. When someone appreciates us, we feel like, "Yeah!!
I did a good job." But, when it comes to a mistake, we're like, "Oh no!!
What I did? I shouldn't be doing this."
Isn't it? That's how most of us and our minds react.
So, how about getting more mindful for our mistakes and embracing it? Sounds good?
This is what I think we all can do. Atleast, can try..
Let's learn with mistakes OR even teach others with mistakes.
When you made a mistake, do not quickly get onto the outcome. Take a pause and give yourself an explanation that what you did exactly? Because we do what seems best for us in a given situation and we don't know that if it going to be a mistake for us. So, you did your best in the situation but it went wrong. What could you takeaway from this event? Try to focus on it and feed it to yourself.
Many of us try to cover up our mistakes and there commit another mistake. Just openly accept it and brag about it, let other person or anyone know that you did a mistake and it's okay because you learned something from it. When you able to accept and embrace the mistakes, you don't feel any embarassment and become mindful.
Similarly, suppose someone made a mistake, let's say your kid. Generally as a parent or teacher we let them know, "Boi, you made a mistake." Let's take a pause and if there is a mistake or errors, mark it with explanation. Also, wherever possible, do not mark it and let them know about it, ask them to correct it and do it again. This way we can help them to develop a mindful approach to embrace mistakes and learn from them rather than getting afraid or scared of.
This is what I think. Now, your turn!! Please join me and share your thoughts. Also share one mistake you committed and what you learned from it, how you embraced it?? ![]()

Hey hey!
My biggest mistake in life was believing my ex could change when I knew he wouldnt, and that I still let him treat me bad.
I learned from that, that no matter what, no one deserves to be treated bad and that its important to focus on self care and leave when you need to.
Now, I am a listener here and am trying to help others who are in similar relationships to look at themselves and to focus on self care.
Wish you an amazing day everyone!
The biggest mistakes I have done is trusting doctors, police, fire and 911.
@DanaMH
I can totally relate and agree!!

Sileent thank you much for this deep check in today. It really sits home for me-not that I make alot of "goofs" but that when I do and I did in the past, I learnt how it really can affect another person that is close to you. I too- have issues of failing. I think to a point we all do, it depends on our past. I have learnt with loving friends and their unconditional love and forgivness is to always find the "nugget" of the lesson to learn in a mistake. Take that and use it-keep it fresh so you don't make that mistake again. One thing Im conflicted on is this"when one decides to keep doing foolish this let them be, walk away. Come back when they are ready to do right" Like what gives me the power to see who is a fool or not? haha Silent again thank you for this wonderful post, it is good and I hope this helps many others. thanks baby elli
@ASilentObserver
great post Observer, we learn from our mistakes (others sometimes too) and we learn from what we do right. Recently i wanted to talk to someone but did not do it, i forgive myself by remembering that i am not used to it but promised myself too to change that.
