These words described my mother. And I believe if also describes yours or most of us. Most of us never truly understand or gauge that what our mothers have given or done. We can never figure out fully that how unselfishly she worked on us to shape us as the one we are today.
Most of the mothers are always awesome and think best in the interest of their kids. No matter what circumstances are, they always there next to us to protect and guide.
When we are ill, they are doctors, when we are weak in something, they are trainers or guide, when we break rules, they act as enforcers, when we are hungry, they are world's best cooks, when we need advice, they are one of the wise advisors we can have. So, we getting so many help and support by one person- Our mothers. They are so versatile that you name it, and they are there.
Even if I talk about 7Cups, many of our awesome leaders, listeners are mothers. I am always amazed by the ability of mothers that how effectively they balance stuffs.
As this Sunday, May 13 will be celebrated as Mother's Day I would like to share, discuss and talk about what are we grateful or thankful to our mothers. Let's recall what they did for us and take an opportunity to appreciate her for all love she showered. Let's practice mindfulness.
What's one thing you are grateful to her? on Thankfulness Thursday Edition of Our Mindfulness Community!!
Footnote: I know and understand that everyone's story and relationship with their mother's isn't good. We all have different experiences with our relationships, whether its of mother-kid, siblings, couple, friendship or anyone else. My intention isn't to hurt anyone. If I did, please forgive me. Thank you

Lovely check-in Obs. @ASilentObserver
I am thankful for everything my mum has done for me. Because she has done a lot, and I am so thankful for how supportive she has been to me throughout my whole life. I respect her a lot and she deserves so much happiness. She has gone through some tough times but has always managed to be a kind and loving mother to me.
Thank you for this heartwarming post. Here's to all the mothers that have been there for us, and supported us through our lives
@peppermintlove that is so touching
thanks for sharing that.
@ASilentObserver Hi Obs! :) How are you doing? I hope you are having a wonderful day so far! <3 :D Also, this is such a lovely post! <3
What's one thing you are grateful to her?
I am grateful to my mom for her unconditional love and support. She has been my best friend ever since my father passed away when I was younger, and she has kept me going! I cannot imagine my life without her as she always is there for me whenever I need her. I appreciate her for everything she has done for me and try to demonstrate that every day as I do not want to regret it if I ever lose her (God forbid). I love her more than anything. My dad was my everything and my mom has always been my home. <3
@SaimaK This is touching Saima. Appreciate your mom's all efforts to raise you up and shape as such a wonderful human. Thank you for sharing your thoughts with us. <3
@ASilentObserver Thank you so much, Obs! :) <3
I thank my mom for everything she did for me. The love she gave, the supportive hugs, the unlimited care, the kicks up the butt when needed, and for always being there.
I also thank her for the support and guidance she gives me now to be as good a mom as I can to my own baby.
Thank you, mom. Love you with all my heart❤️
@ASilentObserver mom taught me there was an idea of a safe place and a person that could understand and care. In the cold world it is not easy to keep those ideas alive until we are old enough to find adult ways to bring them into being.
"Mothers are always awesome and think best in the interest of their kids. No matter what circumstances are, they always there next to us to protect and guide."
Not in my experience. The abuse I suffered at the hands of my narcissistic mother and the resulting trauma has left me a shell of the functioning human I once was. I feel a great deal of anger that such an all-encompassing statement would be shared by a forum lead as if it were true of everyone, with no exception. It makes me feel quite isolated, especially during an already difficult time in the offline world - Mother's day - where all the media and advertisements already talk about how great mothers are, as it is. I wasn't expecting it from the mindfulness community.
We don't all share the same positive experiences. One experiencing mostly positive things related to mothers and motherhood does not mean the entirety of humanity's experience is going to be the same. This statement shows a glaring lack of awareness and consideration of others. It comes off as inconsiderate and unreflective - speaking only from one's own experience and presenting it as if it is the only, default way of experiencing life. It would be the same if someone were to make the claim that Christmas is always an enjoyable time for all, as if it is assumed that everyone celebrates it by default because the person posting it does, and that no suffering has ever occurred in or around such a holiday to colour its celebration because it never has for the person posting it.
I ask that such absolute knowledge claims be avoided in the future and that a more reflective consideration be demonstrated in the future when writing posts which reach such a wide audience of members through notification.
Thanks for hearing me out.
@Zeraphim I am sorry Zeraphim. I agree I made a mistake I should have focused on words as you are right, everyone's story isn't same. I should've been more mindful about it and will try to be more mindful. We are here with you and all up to hear you. <3 Thank you for correcting me and sharing your thoughts with us. <3
@ASilentObserver

Good news! I was told today that on 5/20 I will have a new pysc MD.
@DanaMH that sounds good. Hope that is a favorable situation
@soulsings
The new Psyc MD sounds really nice when she is in the lobby talking to other patients so I am excited for the change.
@DanaMH wow voice can tell a lot about what is in someone's heart.
Wish I had had one
Now I want to be a great MOM
