Hello everyone out there connected to herecheeky I hope your week was good and you all were practicing some mindfulness skills in your daily lives. Today I'd like to focus on being connected to others in your life- and the anxiety you get when you don't feel connected. Yes I'm gonna go here today as I really see this alot on 7sips and know some practice on mindfulness can ease a bit of this weird feeling. Ok ready?

Feelings of being separate, disconnected, or, worse, unsupported, can all be easily snowball into anxiety, complete with all of the unpleasant symptoms anxiety can bring. I describe this feeling as being in a bubble while the rest of the world was connected. I felt invisible, removed, and alone, and that it was gradually deepening my despair and a sense that I was different from everyone else and could never fit in. Maybe you also have experienced this. The truth is, we all have moments when we feel isolated and painfully separate and long to experience our integral unity with life. hugsheart

Mindfulness practice allows a different perspective and supports you in seeing whats actually happening. When you pause and recognize thoughts are just thoughts, emotions as just emotions, and sensations as bodily experiences, you develop a great sense of connection. While your present-moment experience may not be comfortable, you are in touch with the emerging moment, in touch with yourself, and quite possibly more in touch with other people. As your practice of mindfulness deepens, your sense of connection will gradually increase, easing your access to your deepest strengths and resources and to the whole of your life and the world.

Lets all try this- come on everyonesmiley

Here is an exercise that breaks down how we think, feel and then react. https://youtu.be/qVdYifp7WvI

@RumpleSteeleSkin

Awesome check-in and video, Rumple!

I really liked the ABC: Activating Event, Belief (thought), Consequence

Going to try to observe my automatic thoughts and how my mood might be affecting these automatic thoughts. smiley

@RumpleSteeleSkin

hi rumple, thanks for this interesting video.

the first part was totally me some time ago, always thinking why do they not greet you. Today, in most cases i can change the thought to "look at them, i am waving like crazy, and they are dreaming again and do not see me" or something like that. it was scary to have the feeling of abandonned in the past. it is becoming clearer and clearer to me that we can choose our reality/world, we always could, i can step into the world of satisfaction/happiness or into the world of always wanting more/sadness, the time to get there can take only a split of a second (our thought).

Hiya Peace good to see you heresmiley Oh wow Peace you said this so perfectlyyes I believe how we take in information and interpret it does make a difference on how we think and behave-also feel. I also say it's a choice to feel grumpy, or ignored or something. Most of the time we don't take in ALL the information on the interaction or situation, but quickly react. I so do like what you shared here. Good job Peacesmileyyesheart
