today, i am mindfully relaxing my eyes, and darkening my screen to minimize eye strain.
@GustyOne4U
Taking care of our eyes and minimizing eye strain is very important and would make your eye doctor very happy with you also.
@DanaMH
eye care is particularly important for people with Diabetes, Dana (of whom i am one). i see my eye doc in a couple of weeks.
@GustyOne4U
Sorry to hear that you have Diabetes. I think we don't think eye care was stressed as much when a lot of us were growning up to wear sunglasses and to take better care of our eyes and now a lot of folks are having to see the eye doctors a lot. It is amazing how much some of these eye doctors know while others do the basic eye care. I am pleased with my doctor but I must be since I drive 2.5 hours to see him for an appt. Get to see my son on those days also since he is near by.
@GustyOne4U
Hiya sweet Gusty great you are here. Wow that sounds like a good place to take a nap
Relaxing and mindful of things around us straining our bodies.
@GustyOne4U I do that too. Problem is, my Mom don't like it because it made her that I am super sad all the time.
@sweetrosa1987
yes, sweetrosa, it's easy to mistake red eyes for sadness, when it is just 'computer burn' !
i had glasses with a 'computer glare' tint on them, they were pink. i hope i can get new lenses for those, in a couple of weeks. they also make little plastic filters that fit over the computer window, but i'm not good with that, (poor vision).
@DanaMH thanks for sharing this.
Today I was making pudding on the stove, watching the milk warm and start to slowly get thicker. Keep stirring so it does not burn on bottom on low heat. Then after a while it starts to bubble. Keep stirring and then when it keeps bubbling turn off the heat and let it cool.
Being mindful is not something special we do. Being mindful is something we can do with whatever life sends our way.
@soulsings
That is great that you were very mindful while you were making pudding and it also sounds really yummy for a dessert. I agree that being mindful is not something special that we do and sometimes we are doing it not realizing we are doing it either. Being mindful to whatever life sends our way will help us all a lot.
@soulsings
what a wonderful insight, soulsings, and one with which i heartily agree~! Mindfulness Pudding,,

@DanaMH
HI Dana I love this check in
I do alot of visualizing my thoughts before letting go. I find when I do this, it is appropriate time to pay attention to each thing and it floats away like a balloon. Well most thoughts do
@RumpleSteeleSkin
the image of one's thoughts taking the shape of a balloon, and just floating away is delightful, RumpleSteeleSkin~!

@GustyOne4U
aaww Gusty those are pretty
Pretty thoughts up-up and awaaaaaaaaay
Love this Dana!
This morning I focused on the feel of the rain hitting my face while walking my dogs. Instead of assigning a feeling to it (annoyed, etc) I just took a step back so to speak and observed it, noting the coldness of the water.
@Jill7cups
HI Jill good to see you today
eewww that cold,wet,sometimes stinky rain
that is the attitude many of us have-right?
But just as you shared you observed "how" the rain felt. Instead of putting that automatic feeling in, you slowed down and waited. That is very mindful of you. It is rainy and cold here today. At first I found myelf complaining as I drove to work out of town. Then my brain went right to mindfulness. I noticed the rain hitting puddles, the soothing sound it made on my car, the warmth I was feeling from my heated car. So my drive although longer due to folks freaked out driving in rain, was a good one. Thank you for sharing this

heehee
@RumpleSteeleSkin
hahaha Rumple~! how cute, my cats hate to get wet~! ![]()
Today I ate very mindfully, bite by bite, chewing it 25 times.
@amiablePeace77
That is so great and enjoying every bite and the flavors helps a lot.
Visualizing your thoughts as objects... hm. That's interesting, I'll have to find a way to make this work. Like 3D modeling. We would often control 3D models at my old job with what we called a "space ball" like a big round pick that operated like a joystick and rotated the models around.
It was so surreal, rotating an object that wasn't real, but a flickering of light on a screen, a thought of what is real essentially, in space with a physical object.
It took forever to get used to and felt so disembodied and full of effort but got to a point where rotating 3D models on the computer and observing them with the space pick because a forethought instead of a huge event to overcome.
I imagine mindfulness works like this. Something that takes a huge amount of work but becomes effortless.
@Singeleybee53
Mindfulness does take a huge amount of work sometimes and helps a lot of people and gets easier over time.
@Singeleybee53
wow~! nice trip down Imagination Lanae, Singleleybee~!

@GustyOne4U
Gusty I do love this pic even tho I seen this many times. Its just facsinating on how the world-our world really looks like from a distance. Like wow- on the whole creation on it. hahaha I can go on and on about this. Thank you for sharing this picture with us
@RumpleSteeleSkin
like you, Rumple, i never tire of the view from space~
and yvw~!
It was pretty nice to just observe my surroundings. Especially easier when you've just woken up, haha. I was just on campus still, after school, super tired, and not bad. Observing groups of friends, and just pair of friends. Watching them sharing an intamacy; it's nice. I don't have friends in school, but honestly, I like it this way. I can just breathe, and not try to be someone else. It's hard, not paying mind to those thoughts of "am I fitting in"
I'll be eating lunch later.
And will try meditating once I'm ready for bed.
@Skyy0
that feeling of Detachment can be very calming, sometimes, i agree Skyy0~! i loved sitting on the quad when i was in college, just people watching. i hope we will see you in the Mindfulness Discussion Chats sometimes,, they are very helpful~ best wishes on your meditation tonight! ![]()
